Other than his citizenship, which doesn't matter given his position, what's the big difference between Bridge and a guy like Lefevour? Both suspect passers who try and get by on their athleticism. Did Bridge do anything that wasn't improvising on a broken play at all? Not like he's a fresh faced rookie in the CFL either, he's been around for a few years and is still the same guy he always was. I just don't see the hype. Is it cause he came into games after Glenn ****** things up and was OK? Cause that's a totally different situation than starting games in the CFL.

Every db gets burned now and again, it happened a hell of a lot less with Randle than anyone else. To me he's the glue of the secondary and if we can get some improvements out of Walker and Alexander just being more experienced then it should bode well for the unit.
-
Well last year they said Glenn was better than Nichols too. The simple fact is that if the Riders were going into a season with a turnip as their starting qb they'd try and claim that it was better than Nichols too.
-
I just hope that they continue to get better at bringing in recruits from the states because that is the only way to reliably be a contender year in and year out in this league. You can't pay everyone FA money so you have to be able to lose people and not worry because you have a guy no one has heard of ready to step in.

Neufeld isn't any kind of long term solution. Perhaps he's a place holder, but they've drafted too many OL too high in the draft for these guys to not be options sooner rather than later. If they were not interested in going at least 3 canadians on the OL why didn't we draft receivers and linebackers higher in the draft instead of always linemen?
-
Any position on the team where this doesn't hold true?
-
And if they can't then they better re-evaluate their drafting strategy.
-
They've spent how many high draft picks on offensive linemen? That's how it will be different. We gotta play Canadians somewhere, might as well be in positions they've invested the draft picks in.
-
Randle no question. I really do think we need to work towards 3 Canadians on the OL.

OK so the replay officials get it right, but you are still only giving coaches the single challenge for it but it's something that the refs can miss in real time way more often than that, in addition to all the other stuff that might need challenged. Honestly I've never been a fan of the review process. There's always going to be human error in reffing I'd just let them ref, or you just take them completely out of the equation and review everything all the time. I stand by the PI being a gross over reaction to a badly blown call in a playoff game which has made things worse in the long run.

The only time they've really nailed making Kylo Ren seem like a bad ass is at the very start of The Force Awakens when he stops a blaster shot, more stuff like that would have helped establish him as a real threat.
-
Honestly with a bit more thought he could have made the movie he wanted to and it could have been great. You want to focus on Luke and Rey and the Kylo overcoming Snoke then you absolutely do it, but let's not waste so much time on two other story lines that are ultimately big failures and a waste of time. Roll the rest of the rebels off into just one side mission, come up with some objective they're working towards rather than just trying to run away. Gives them something to do without wasting a bunch of run time on useless stories. Then you have time to explore more about the Kylo/Snoke relationship and flesh out the character that is supposed to be this big bad and that way when Kylo Ren turns on him and kills him you have made Kylo much more threatening than simply having everyone repeat "kylo ren, such a bad ass". Show, don't tell. Rey and Luke can still work in much the same way, though I wouldn't have wasted as much screen time on Luke being reluctant to help, but that's purely because it contradicts what we learned in the first movie about his goals.

but PI is a subjective call, which is why reviewing it is crazy to me. By the letter of the law you can probably find PI on any play, which is why so many coaches went on fishing trips so much and it was so successful. It was a gross over reaction to one missed call in the playoffs a few years ago and it's made the game worse. Just let the refs call PI on the field and screw it up or not, feels better when it's screwed up in real time than when it's still screwed up after review.
-
Kylo Ren killing his master is absolutely a great plot idea, the problem is you can't rush it like they did, you can't throw away the back story like he did because without the backstory then it just becomes meaningless. Rian Johnson failed on a basic story telling level with this movie period.
-
Yup, sounds like a director too high on himself to understand what the story was actually about. When you are making a sequel you have to play by the rules laid out in the first movie. You can't just decide that "no I don't like that story"
-
I don't know about that, seems he's always cutting a veteran DB to save money, he turfed Denmark the first time because he made too much money, he didn't keep Euclid Cummings last year cause the performance wasn't up to the pay scale. Wasted no time moving Drew Willy when he lost his job to Nichols. I think there are plenty of examples of Walters moving on from guys without hesitation if they aren't earning their money.
-
I just don't see how a guy who has missed so much time can ask for and get a big salary. Especially from Kyle Walters who is ruthless about ditching veterans he deems are paid too much for what they bring.
-
give teams 2 challenges but stop letting them challenge PI problem solved.
-
He's better than decent when he's on the field. Wild is a damned good player, the only problem for him has been staying healthy, and if he's getting paid a smaller amount then at worst he's great depth.
-
Actually if you notice I generally throw in lots of vague statements which provides ample room to backtrack out of things should the need arise. Yeah I argue, yeah I take positions some people don't make, but I rarely make statements that are as definitive as you did with the "they're throwing assistants under the bus"
-
the difference is that I am not making statements like you and passing them off as fact. I know that I don't know, you are quite different.
-
Yes we will see what happens next year and yes the D does need to improve, but none of that has anything to do with your claims that they're throwing assistants under the bus and absolving blame from Hall. I'd say that with O'Shea indicating he will be more involved that is a pretty big "on notice" to Hall.
-
and where have they said it was the assistants fault? You're the one making that claim and no offense, but you have no clue the reason why there are changes with a couple assistants. Hell I'd bet that one of them is purely to get Younger on board.
-
and when did that happen? Just because they didn't bring a couple assistants back does not mean they are blaming them for the D problems. But hey, you're welcome to keep jumping to the conclusions to justify your hate of Ritchie Hall.
-
I think it's incorrect to say he's too loyal, I would say he is more patient than loyal. He sees the good Hall brings (and a guy with Halls experience clearly does bring some good things) and is willing to be patient.
