When they were 7-0 and everyone was praising them as the best thing since sliced bread? Wasn't the game in Edmonton the last time they lost? Here's what I think, I think the Bombers just know how to handle that Eskimo team and it doesn't matter when they play, the Bombers just do the right things to beat them.

Hall's defence did fine against Edmonton in the regular season. Oh sure some yards were given up but the Bombers were in control of the game both times.

We have lots of receivers who can stretch the field, trouble is Lapo only ever uses one guy to go deep, the rest catch short balls or nothing at all.

I would much rather focus on stuff that has happened recently rather than stuff that happened eons ago. You know, like the way the Bombers have won all but that one lonely Labour Day game vs. the Riders the last 2 seasons. If you think the Riders have a chance going into Winnipeg in the playoffs you are only fooling yourself. Better off trying to limp through the sad sack east.

Never mind that the Bombers since last winning regularly make it to the game, they just haven't had the win. Trying to boost themselves up with Grey Cup appearances is only more laughable. The point is that the defense has played the same way for the past 2 years. I never ever said you brought up the previous games, I did that to show that despite giving up yards for 2 years the team is still in a position to win much much more often than not so they are clearly not all bad. Try and keep up.

Not to mention Smith retiring before the season saved them some money, and they cut a veteran DB to go with rookies instead after training camp, why can't I get the guys name right now... man how easily those guys get forgotten.... If anything Walters cares too much about the SMS. Always cutting veterans and going with rookies.

It doesn't matter, this team has had a chance to win nearly every game the last couple years. That tells me they're doing something right. The fact that the D also generates turnovers as well as anyone in the league tells me they do things right as well, and there are many nights that those turnovers are the difference. Yes the D gives up tons of yards... but that's part of what they do. Let teams take the underneath stuff and when they get too impatient they pounce on the turn overs. The issue this year is the explosions that are happening too regularly, but the D is better than most people here are willing to give it credit for.

who is making excuses? We had chances to win both those games and we have won 11 games back to back seasons now, maybe 12 this year if we somehow manage a win in Calgary. That tells me they're doing something right.

Do you know I think the biggest issue from a coaching standpoint with the D this year is roster management more than anything else. 2 rookies in the secondary all year, over loading the linebacker position on the roster, making puzzling decisions with the defensive line usage. Is it any wonder they give up big plays as regularly as they do?
