In what world is throwing against your body right into the middle of 3 defenders with no receiver anywhere close by a correct decision? I'd rather indecision than bad decisions. This just stinks of the coaches trying to over think things. Perfect opportunity to actually see if Davis is worth keeping onto, if he goes out and sucks this week then you can always make Lefevour the #2 for the playoffs and you know more about Davis and his future with the club.

The biggest problem with the D this year is they've had too many breaks in the big explosion plays, which I have a real hard time pinning on the coaches. That is most likely just players making errors.

Are you serious? They are just talking about the exact time that happened.... or did You not know Jim Daley was head coach of the riders for a while?

but Nichols is in a Lapo dink and dunk ball control offense, Reilly is in a Huck it! Chuck it! offense. easy to get more yards when your only real passing plays are heaving it deep. If Reilly had to throw 70% of his passes 5 yards or less things would look entirely different.

If you really believe that then you are beyond hope. I mean seriously people, forget the yards given up, does this defense give us a chance to win? I say yes it does because very rarely does this team actually get blown out. It is time to face the facts, fans like to watch super aggressive defenses that generate two and out all the time, but this team isn't built to be that team and Ritchie Hall isn't that kind of defensive coordinator. Doesn't mean he's bad at his job, just means the expectations from the coaches and management is different than from the fans.

I don't think Santos L. Halper has played enough snaps on D to really warrant the rookie of the year nod. Which is why I give it to Walker if he is able. Guy has had some ups and downs but I think he's had more ups than downs and has been the teams most consistent rookie.

Agree with most of them, might go Walker instead of Alexander for rookie, but is he eligible?

It has to be Davis who starts, even if he's on a short leash, otherwise you basically just wasted the past 3 seasons with the guy. You make him the #2 qb after investing time in him and not actually give him a start when the starter is down? That's just dumb. Not like Lefevour went in and showed to be any better last week. They both sucked but at least David avoided throwing INTs.

What happens in the Calgary game means next to nothing other than the potential for home vs. road in the playoffs. The team is banged up to all hell, the starting qb is already a no go. The mentality is just survive until playoffs, which will have a lot more impact on determining what this team is about than the last couple games and this upcoming on in Calgary. This team for the past few weeks has looked an awful lot like a team that is just waiting for the regular season to end, they win in the playoffs does it really matter that they gassed a couple winnable games late in the year to teams that don't matter much in the grand sceme of things?

Why on earth would they start the fever when he threw two of the worst ints I have seen... it's the complete antithesis of the offense Lapo runs here. Low risk avoid turn overs at all costs. Davis turtling and eating the sack makes more sense in that offense than Lefevour using his noodle arm to throw right to the other team.

Only parts of it are based on a true story, most of it is him taking on a bet that he could make Beowulf into an interesting story.

with snow and cold forecast I doubt there will be much of a home crowd.

Here is the thing, I don't even think the defense was THAT bad... sure they had a rough start to the game but they got their **** together and kept the team in it despite the offense doing nothing at all, it was only at the end when they were clearly gassed that things went sideways again for them. Any kind of break given to them by the offense and they'd have been a lot better at the end of the game. This one all comes down to the offense doing sweet **** all, even when Nichols was in they weren't exactly setting the world on fire.

Killed em on special teams though, which is 1/3 of the game.

Or does Lapo just suck a developing qbs? Looked OK with Khari and Nichols but everyone else looks like a sack of crap... coincidence?

Just want to point out that the team has lost back to back games for the first time this season since taking Lankford out of the lineup... Discuss.

Nevis has not been a bust, the team has just been playing silly buggers with the DL to try and get more Canadians playing but the DL and defense as a whole generally plays it's best when both Nevis and Poop are in the game. Makes it easier on everyone and Thomas does better when he doesn't have to be an every down guy.

That just goes to show the real problem with this team. They do pretty well scouting Canadians and players already in the league, but atrocious at finding guys who aren't up in Canada already. The American scouting needs to be better full stop.

Yeah drove me nuts, the guy can fire it but he was trying to baby everything in and was resulting in passes not even getting to the receiver cause that's too easy for the dbs. Suspect it's the fear of screwing up and losing the game, but you gotta play to win.

yeah but when was the Bombers 2nd year of a massive rebuild? 1997? 2000? 2006? 2011? 2015? Sad fact is that the Bombers have been shooting themselves in the foot for so long that we've essentially been constantly rebuilding for 2 decades.

So no change from Rider fan behaviour at any point.
