This is the CFL not the NFL, how you play in the early season really doesn't matter, it's how you play late in the year and you don't need to worry about building a big record early, just be playing well in the fall. Too many people get too hung up on what happens in one single week round these parts.

The way to win in the CFL is pretty straight forward, avoid turning the ball over and pressure the opposing teams qb. See who does that better this weekend and the team that does most likely wins the game.

If we are discrediting Nichols wins because of who he beat then how can you make Streveler seem better when the only team he beat is that sad sack Montreal team? He also lost to the same Hamilton team that Nichols beat. Listen I am a huge Streveler fan, I think the kid has all kinds of potential, but he's not a better player than Matt Nichols at this stage of their respective careers and the facts back that up.

Using this logic, and I've seen it a lot of places, you can't claim a win against a good team unless you beat Calgary.

Let us not forget that streveler last start was that ugly loss in Hamilton. People are too reactionary here.

Nichols has injuries in his past, streveler will get his playing time.

Name a team that doesn't question the coaching after a loss. The wailing and gnashing of teeth now reminds me of after the loss in Hamilton. They rebounded after that, why don't we see what the response is before we all jump off the ledge?

And what if Streveler doesn't take that next step? Then what? Let's not make a change until streveler has shown he is clearly better, which ha hasn't yet.

We are getting comparable or better production from our Canadian receivers when Kohlert is the bar, and Smith didn't do **** while he was here, Thompkins looks to be just as good. Just because Dressler got hurt and they put Lankford in doesn't mean the receivers are completely useless. That Ottawa game was a Lapo problem much moreso than a talent problem.

I think our receivers overall are fine (when Dressler is in there anyway), I think the problems are a one trick pony Lapolice who if what he cooks up isn't working doesn't know how to change things.

I don't even believe Nichols is the problem. All year this team has lived and died by the run game, well the run game wasn't working on Friday and none of the receivers stepped up. Adam's I guess but he's just one guy. Lapo got out coached and that was the ball game.

yahuh. Here's the thing, one week doesn't change anything, Stamps took the weak sister of the west lightly and got burned nothing more than that.

I'd have left Streveler in only to save the wear and tear on Nichols, but he's still the guy for this team. I don't even think he was that bad, lots of penalties took plays off the board for them, he dealt with a lot of dropped passes and he dealt with a team that was taking away the Bombers running attack which screwed up the entire game plan. Just one of those games that happens where the other team executes their planned defense and you can't find the answers for it.

They also suggest that the team plays with a lead a lot of the time, which every team in the CFL gets more conservative with.
