remember before when we were looking at the esks depth chart and wondering how they kept winning and I said guess it's the qb and a real solid defensive line? Well if that Dline is banged up to that extent against our very good offensive line I like our odds. A lot easier for linebackers and dbs when the DL gets pressure.

This is a beautiful comment. It's one thing to kick field goals after the offense starts in the other teams half of field, but if you march the ball and then have to kick that's great cause you eat up the clock, put the other team on their heels and still get points out of the deal. That's what good teams do to win ball games.

That is the most frustrating thing about Charles Roberts.... if that guy cared at all he could have been even more legendary than he already is. The amount of god given talent that guy had and he didn't put in a fraction of the work most pros do...

Gary Lawless has always had this habit of treating his own opinions like they were facts. Maybe MOS is getting more involved in the D, or maybe it's just a case of the new faces on the DL getting used to each other and Mo Leggett coming back and Carmichael and Walker both switching positions and getting more comfortable with the CFL game. But yeah it's probably MOS just sticking his fingers into things..... Not gonna put a lot of stock into what Lawless says without a better source than Gary thought it so it must be true.

I think if Adams hadn't come down with the ball then the ref probably would have thrown the flag. Plenty of times they keep the flags in their pocket until the play is done for what ever reason.

Odds and Sods - Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tiger-Cats
17to85 replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
So just to be clear here, the Bombers beating Hamilton and Ottawa and Montreal is meaningless but the Esks beating Hamilton twice, Ottawa twice, Montreal once and BC twice makes them a top teir team? Not like they've rolled over all these teams either. The fact is that it's early in the CFL season and a win streak now really doesn't mean a lot when one division has been so putrid that everyone is picking up wins against them. Edmonton has beaten BC twice so good for them, but if they start losing to Winnipeg or Calgary their record starts to look a bit shakier doesn't it? And hell Calgary has played the same teams as Winnipeg and the only difference is that one head to head, which admittedly was not a good game for the Bombers but it is hardly the definitive game of the season. Why don't we all just agree that the best teams in the league are the top 4 teams in the west, which it just so happens includes Winnipeg. -
Apple is ******* terrible and all you're doing is paying a premium for a device that is no better than any number of things on the market. Apple customers are suckers plain and simple.

I'm sorry to hear that

I can laugh really hard at the Lions crapping their pants like that, but man not at the expense of a Rider win, now we are going to have to listen to those **** heads crowing about how they're on the way to being great blah blah blah.
-
Just keep doing what they're doing and finding ways to win and it will all take care of itself by seasons end.
-
I see you're not familiar with the Paul Lapolice offense....

Oh please, I always took **** for defending Durant around these parts. Guy clearly was a leader and a winner for the Riders even if people here were obligated to hate him because he wore **** green for so long. Even today people under rate the **** out of him in Montreal. Not his fault that team isn't all that great right now.

LEADERSHIP! Nichols has it, Durant has it, Kevin Glenn does not and never has had it. Glenn can put up all the numbers he wants to, but he's still not a leader. Nichols is showing himself to be a winner for the Bombers, Durant showed he was a winner with the Riders, keep your stats Glenn is a loser.

Yeah Mannarino really seemed to have trouble dealing with the obviously biased crowd and his game totally went away as Shapovalov started to get more into the game. I don't know much about Zverev, but he's really established himself as the top young gun so I like the fact that we got a semi final in a masters tournament which features some youth. Next question since I believe Shapovalov will now be well withing the top 100 rankings is does the US Open give him a wild card entry, cause he probably deserves it after this.

I noticed that too, lots of balls the redblacks receivers pulled off the turf that I thought should have been no catch.
-
and Nadal has a muffin serve, really takes something to have trouble with that.
-
I think Jennings still has to prove himself a bit too. Yeah he's had early success but what happens if he is in a situation without the best group of receivers in the league (in my opinion) coming down with all those bombs he tosses up.
-
Oh I am absolutely rooting for the kid, the tennis world needs some young blood because the generation with Raonic and Nishikori and Dimitrov were abysmal and failed to even push the previous generation, but seen lots of young guys beat Nadal over the years and then never do much else. He needs to improve his service return and net game to get to the consistent level.
-
but Kevin Glenn!!!!!
-
I really do think people need to temper their expectations based on an upset over Nadal. Guy gets upset by young players swinging for the fences quite a bit, having success in one match where Nadal plays passively like that is entirely different from having sustained success against players who actually have a brain and can adjust tactics when things aren't working.
-
He didn't exactly come out of nowhere, he did win the wimbledon jrs. a couple years ago and I believe he's won a few challenger tournaments already this year.
-
get this **** out of here until the game this week is over with. MOS gonna go balistic on you.
-
The most important thing Nichols has done is get his team mates to seemingly be willing to run through a wall for him. That means more than anything at the position if you ask me.
-
That's unfair to Raonic Noeller, He is a solid player but he is very passive and lacks the killer instinct to beat the top players. He's been top 10 for a long time now, just doesn't have the mentality to consistently beat the other top players on tour. Bouchard well she's just not as interested in improving her game as she needs to be simple as that. Caught people by surprise early, they figured her out and she hasn't adapted to that. Shapovalov who knows how good he can be, there have been other teenagers come in and make noise like that and then never progress as much as expected, but I think this kid does have a bright future if he can improve his atrocious net play. Make no mistake if you're going to upset a top seed by blasting the ball as hard as you can it'll be Nadal, especially when he plays so far behind the baseline like he was doing last night. Guy will sit a mile back and run down balls and wait for his opponent to make a mistake. That never happened last night but guys like Federer or Murray or Djokovic would never give you that much room. That's why I ******* hate Nadal as a player. Such a boring as **** player. ******* clay court players, speed up the courts again and players like him disappear.
