Is their next statue going to be a player under the bus depicting the fans reaction when a player opts to leave?

So we that bored we gotta feed the trolls? You know what a guy pretends that the Bombers were actually bad the whole time since 1990 that he's got nothing anyway. Fact is that the Bombers are better and deeper than the Riders and there is no reason they should lose the game on Saturday. Now they might lose the game, cause it's still football and anything can happen, but anyone with any shred of objectiveness is going to recognize that the Riders are in contention for the worst team in the CFL while the Bombers should be a solid team. I get a real kick out of them pretending that Kevin Glenn isn't washed up and that he is actually still a decent qb. Any time he tried to throw more than 15 years downfield in week one it was a duck and they still say he played well. His entire game is playing into the hands of the Bombers D. You don't win in the CFL anymore by only doing the short little passes, you gotta air it out and make some big plays time to time, just look at the Edmonton and BC game as a prime example. Kevin Glenn was iffy at that aspect at his best and he is far far from his best. -

Oh man, if Muamba doesn't play and they still try and force a Canadian at middle linebacker then I hope Harris is ready to run all night long cause I'll take that matchup any day. -
I didn't like how they turned him into a super villain and was just one of the reason I stopped watching the show when they ran out of book material (so didn't see last season) but the dude played a guy that it is impossible to not hate so very very well.

It's Kevin Glenn in game one for Winnipeg, I mean come on, he is going to complete a lot of short **** against us, but he's also going to soft serve up some passes that will get picked off, it's just what he does at this stage in his career. So I expect the Bombers to give up lots of yards but to take the ball away and not give up as many points as the stats might lead one to believe. -
Regular Season - Bomber News, Developments & Speculation
17to85 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Gotta think that for a team that showed to have some discipline problems in week one that maybe such an intense atmosphere is going to be a bad thing for the Riders. They took a pile of penalties trying to show Durant up, now the pressure gets cranked up a notch because they lost a game already and they got the weight of expectations from their fans. Perfect game for Nichols and co. to come out and punch them right in the face early. -
Ramsay Snow still a dickhead, even in space. What a bastard.

Wait really? I mean I know it's foreign territory for all of us, but I have a hard time finding a better offensive line than the Bombers anywhere in the CFL. They're definitely in the top grouping of OLs. Who is the weakest player on the OL? Goosen? Pretty good ******* problem to have. -

Randy Ambrosie Named CFL Comissioner

The only relevant question is, does Braley like the guy? Cause if he doesn't then he'll be short lived. -

Oh please, while Chevys teams have been missing the playoffs I was winning hockey pools.

in 01 Charles Roberts was still just a rookie and remember he also walked out on the team at one point in 01. Hardly a guy anyone was ready to completely hitch their wagon too. I think there were injuries amongst those running backs as well, plus there's the fact that there's only one football and they played some Canadians at receiver too. They set up the roster in such a way that it was unlikely to just pile on more American receivers. Yeah hind sight says one thing, but having to share the ball with Milt and Gordon and Bruce likely winds up with Geroy Simon not being an all time receiver.
-
That's using hind sight. Geroy Simon who became one of the all time leaders isn't the same guy that was young just returning from the NFL and Bobby Gordon was Khari's safety blanket at receiver, you don't just drop a guy like that. The real choice was Bruce or Simon and in that case it's hard to argue one way or the other because they were both damned good.
-
You were going to cut which of Stegall, Gordon or Bruce to get him back in? Let's be honest, Arland Bruce was a damned fine replacement for Geroy Simon.
-
You know given that this is the rider fan base I am legitimately concerned that it's actually going to be a real circle jerk in the middle of the field.

You think that Jones sewered his teams chances in a very winnable game 1 of the season just to give the Bombers problems in week 2? You don't think his massive ego wanted to prove to everyone how brilliant he was to throw Durant aside? -
And how did Jake Allen do this year? So well that they had to send him home for a while. Not like he kicked the door down and forced Elliott out, the Blues got tired of not being able to count on Elliott and hoped that Allen was the guy. The Jets woulda been better off continuing to support their young goalies, play solid in front of them and let them grow into the role. I can already see though that the fans are going to eat their own with any goalie who isn't Carey Price, and even he likely would take more **** than deserved.
-
No they don't, they say that he can have an inflated save percentage when he's got a great defensive team like St.Louis in front of him. Seriously have you watched the guy play? Cause the numbers are inflated plain and simple. I laughed when the Flames brought him in cause I knew their season would be **** with him, only thing that prevented them from being a lottery team was when Johnson came in and went on one of his unsustainable hot streaks. You guys ran Pavelec out of town and the difference between Pavelec and Elliott is mostly that Pavelec doesn't have the extreme highs and lows that Elliott does.
-
Yeah but Elliott has been unreliable everywhere he's been. Ottawa, St. Louis, Calgary. The numbers for that guy lie. You can't count on him and it's why everyone moves on with him. Expecting anything different in Winnipeg is just setting yourself up for disappointment. Elliott needs a strong D in front of him like the Blues had, and even they got sick of his ****.
