3-Year Contract Extensions For Walters and OShea
17to85 replied to JCon's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Bullshit, the reason Khari was done is because the terrible OL he played behind got him taking so many hits his shoulder was messed up. -
but with only 3 downs in the CFL getting some field position out of a kick return can have a huge impact because it gives an offense, or even defense some breathing room. It's no secret that special teams are a much bigger part of the game in the CFL than they are in the NFL and the number of downs is a big part of that I believe so if you take away on aspect with which a team can get yards (taking away the no yards penalty) you're just going to make out game worse.
-
Walters has said plenty of times that he believes in taking OL early in the draft so it's not like he totally subscribes to the BPA philosophy.
-
I don't even have anxiety about signing draft picks because the Bombers GM isn't a **** trying to prove to everyone that he's the smartest man alive. He doesn't engage in **** waving contests with players or agents just to prove a point. He just works to get a deal done.

3-Year Contract Extensions For Walters and OShea

Have you been good? Maybe the jolly fat man will put a contract extension under the tree for us Bomber fans. Wait... Is Wade Miller jolly?

and how much time do those 4 penalties add to the game? half a minute? They gotta set the ball after a kick regardless, all that gets added in terms of time is the time for the official to turn on his mic and call the penalty so it's really insignificant. All the time wasted on frivolous challenges is a bigger concern than penalties on a return.

even if that was true, manslaughter is probably the correct charge since intent comes into it. I mean they might be able to pin murder on the guy, but manslaughter is a charge that is much more likely to stick. -
yeah but who is talking about just TDs? There might be a better way to do it, but I am telling you right now that fair catch isn't a better way. How about we actually work on improving the quality of the officials? Then you don't have to worry as much about the inconsistencies. And I don't see what the problem is with having too many penalties called... if there's a penalty throw the flag. Guys can stop taking penalties if there's too many flags. What we need to do is work on getting the calls consistent and a lot of that comes from clearly defining things for the officials and making it as black and white as possible and get rid of a lot of the challenge bullshit which clouds the matter and brings in more elements of subjectivity.

when you say evidence what you mean is conjecture.
-
and when you say moving you mean not moving because the returner just takes a knee and doesn't go anywhere right? At least in the CFL you get the opportunity for a return every play which is well worth the few seconds it takes to call a penalty and set the after the infraction.
-
He made the switch 5 games into the season, hardly waiting until the last minute
-
get out. Just get right out of here with talk like that. Refs might suck at calling no yards but it is so much better than the ******** fair catch nonsense that I'll live with it.
-
If you don't have a gun then the King of England can just waltz into your house and start pushing you around, do you want that?

pretty sure you can find a lot of the first season episodes on youtube or other such video streaming sites.

yeah but he didn't just walk away, police know who he is and if they decide that charges are warranted it'll be easy enough to find him and nail him to the wall. -
The reality is that when you have that many 1000 yard receivers chances are you're not keeping them together long term because they're all going to want to get paid like 1000 yard receivers. Be interesting to see what happens with that team next year for sure.
-
You don't need an Andy Fantuz type who can be among the best in the league regardless of passport, but our canadian receivers were underwhelming this year, and I say that as a Kohlert fan, but we need someone who can do more than we got out of the position. A star would be great but how about an occasional playmaker?

Trade the guy who won you a Grey Cup just one year ago and is one of the top performing qbs in the league to go with a largely unknown? Yeah I don't think so. -
No I don't think refs are biased now. There is a difference between bias and incompetence. The CFL refs just aren't very good at their jobs and in my opinion the review process makes it easier for them to be bad at their jobs because they don't have to worry about making mistakes, replay will fix it. Without that crutch they would have to improve or they'd be out of a job.
-
That rumour was debunked many times.
-
They tried the time limit on reviews, they always went over it in the name of getting the call right. Honestly just ditch reviews entirely, let the refs do their jobs and we will live with the mistakes

Nichols will be signed, I have no doubts about that, his agent is just shooting for the moon hoping for the best, they'll reach a reasonable deal. In the mean time I don't have an issue with them trying to get Franklin as well, if nothing else drive up the price that Jones will pay. Bottom line I don't want to do into the year just banking on a young QB breaking through. Seen that movie go south too many times.

Nor was that Calgary team the one that ran through the regular season. It's the CFL man, one game anything, absolutely anything can happen. Ottawa caught Calgary with their pants down. Stamps bought the hype and Ottawa used the "you got no chance in hell" talk as motivation.
