  1. O'Shea and Nichols defending the guys they got is no shocker, the fact that O'Shea didn't come out and say "pass" is encouraging. He'll line up whoever Walters brings in for him. Only question is whether or not Kyle Walters thinks they need to add a receiver or not.
  2. if we're going to go two and out anyway might as well pound the crap out of a defense. But Lapo's gonna Lapo
  3. why can't we find bit receivers with good hands like Manny Arceneaux or SJ Green etc etc etc? Why do we have to choose? Kyle Walters needs to get his ass in gear and find some guys who can play from the states because right now the smurf brigade isn't cutting it. Can't have them all be midgets and expect it to work. Was comical to see Smith trying to go deep on Watkins, Watkins just has to be close and it's impossible to complete a deep ball to Smith because of the size mismatch.
  4. we don't use one running back enough to justify putting a 2nd one on the roster. Sad but true. Our receivers are hurting and a bunch of smurfs and we still try and win with a heavy passing game. Should just let the big old boys on the OL tee off and run the crap out of the ball.
  5. The reffing was absolute garbage and it was garbage both ways and both coaches did the complete bullshit throw the flag for something just hoping there's an issue. That needs to be fixed by the CFL pretty damned quick cause it's a joke when something that happens completely away from a play can be reviewed and take the play off the board. Over reaction to one missed call in a playoff game and now we have to deal with horrible reviews because of it. I dunno who this ref was but I was less impressed with his crew this game than I was with the Bombers and that should say something. I ain't saying the Bombers lost because of the reffing, the Bombers were full marks for losing this game but it's hard to watch them lose AND watch the refs run around the field with their heads up their asses.
  6. Alarm bells were ringing when Darian Durant and the hapless Riders started shredding them but they still got enough errors from the Riders and Argos to win the games, but we saw these last two weeks what happens when teams don't make those mistakes. That's the game plan for Winnipeg now, just don't **** around and cough up the ball and they won't beat you.
  7. Yeah I am as big a Wild fanboi as there is and he was awful last night. Just awful.
  8. There's only one football, if we had an all american cast someone would be left over and we'd be sitting here complaining that he's no good we should just use a canadian if we're never going to throw to them anyway. I got no problems with Kohlert and JFG, they can do the job that's asked of them.
  9. yeah but the guys who do understand how to play with Crosby have an easy time of it. Just let Crosby do all the work and finish the chances he sets you up for.
  10. a win here would be absolute huge. 9 wins and I don't think there's any way you miss the playoffs, a win and it makes Edmontons chances catching you so slim. Bottom line just win baby. by hook or by crook just win what ever it takes.
  11. riding shotgun to Sidney Crosby who really was the guy stirring the drink for Canada. Sorry but Marchand just cashed in on Crosby. Knew his role and did the job but Crosby was the real star.
  12. Hamilton has lots of receivers as is and needs dbs for this year cause thanks to the shitty shitty east they got a chance? I mean it's really simple roster management. They believe they have an excess of receivers so they trade a neg list guy for a defensive back that will help them this season. If you could get import receivers on your own easily then we wouldn't be in a situation where we had to go FA shopping and then bring Denmark off the beach when a couple injuries hit. This team hasn't exactly had aces from their receiver recruiting.
  13. and if it turns out Harris plays and Flanders doesn't I change my pick to him but seems like it'll be Flanders.
  14. Flaaaaaaaaaannnnnnndddddddddeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrssssssssssss
  15. Plus they added a top 4 defenseman to Kane in order to get a top 4 defenseman and some misc pieces. Not like kane was the only part of that deal.
  16. yeah guys with no negatives on the scouting reports are the super stars in the NFL, and even some of them probably had question marks about them too. Bottom line is that you gotta see how he does up here before judging him. Anyone have a comparison of this guys scouting report to Darvin Adams who a lot of people around here are pining for? I have a suspicion that Adams has a bunch of negatives on his too.
  17. This really isn't too big a surprise, lots of depth at the position and Adams hasn't been the same coming back from injury so move a potential big ticket in the offseason and run with the younger players you have. Assuming they got someone they are really interested from the neg list.
  18. well that might be how it works in fantasy land but the real world is a lot harsher. Other teams know that Winnipeg is at a disadvantage in this situation and no one wants to tinker that much with what they've already built at this point in the year they will be reluctant to give up already developed players. Teams get attached to their developed players.
  19. It doesn't take Edmonton's side into account though... Chia talked about trading Hall for Larsson, he said he identified Larsson as his target for several reasons including the fact that he played tough matchups on the top pairing and came out looking great defensively and Chia believed he had more offense to give and maybe more importantly he was signed to a low contract. Those are two things Trouba can't say, he's looking for big money and hasn't had that top pairing level Larsson had. Even when trying to get Larsson out of New Jersey he didn't come in offering Hall, Hall was the piece he had to give to make the deal happen and he only did it because he felt so strongly about the player. Trouba having no contract doesn't help the case for trading him for a massive return. Someone has to like him that much and believe they can sign him to a number that works. We saw how the Isles made out on the trade front by demanding a player of similar value for Hamonic, and at least in Hamonics case they had reason to be patient, he was under contract and wasn't going to sit out on them. When people demand trades you never get as much as you want because ideally you want to keep said player and the value to you is way higher than it is to anyone else.
  20. Amazing how simple the game is sometimes eh. Hell they were talking about that on TSN, Claybrooks says he just believes that his 12 guys are better than the 12 on the other side so just go beat them. Dave Ritchie was the same kind of guy, just beat the man across from you. Sometimes I think coaches over complicate things and sometimes you just have to line up and do and win some matchups.
  21. I think getting hung up on Trouba having to go for a similar young player is just asking for no trade to be made. Better off moving him for help at another position and some prospects because there are honestly options on the left side at defense that could come in as stop gap measures until some prospects develop. Hell Kris Russell is still unsigned and while he's not as good as he once was the guy can still play. That's just the first example out there too.
  22. The difference with Edmonton is that their defense is not nearly as good as Calgary has so you should be able to play in a shoot out with them if you need to.
  23. Oh **** most football players can throw a beauty pass, what makes a guy able to succeed as a passer is the decision making with the ball.
