You know what opened up the run game? Bond being more of a man than anyone on the esks defense and moving them out of the way so that Harris didn't have to start making guys miss in the backfield.
-
I'm saying that they were hell bent on having more canadians on the OL than they should have based on the talent. Can you deny that the OL is a hell of a lot better since going 3 americans there?
-
How often do you think Rookies do more than the odd good game here or there or even a few catches here and there? Seriously you expect guys to come in and be Geroy Simon or something? Even Geroy Simon wasn't Geroy Simon in his rookie season.
-
by all accounts you mean the one guy who does the blog right? Cause that's the only place I've seen anyone say Foketi did poorly, everything else either ignored it or saw the OL as a group playing a damned good game. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. If he really did look out of place then they would have changed back.

Messam because Noeller can't beat me if I always pick the same as him.
-
But those tweaks to the OL allowed them to actually establish the run which gives a qb more options because the defense has to account for that. There's a reason that they always say it starts in the trenches, because it does. Don't diminish the enormous change Bond brought to the OL, and I'm not talking about his size.

Sutton for real? my fantaseh team could sure use him healthy....
-
That's not true, I have never bad mouthed Taman. He does what he does and I get it and he put better teams on the field for us than many have since so why do you think I flip flopped on my support of him?
-
This isn't about salary cap space or anything like that, this is purely some peoples cheapness coming to the front and they don't wanna pay a backup big money because reasons.
-
Here we go again with the depth is bad when you have to pay for it nonsense.

They can already add an asterisk anyway given all the injuries the Als have to star players anyway.

Question about Rod Pederson vs other media
17to85 replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
wash your mouth out with soap for ever comparing Pederson to Tait or Irving. -
It doesn't even have to be go elsewhere, maybe he just needs some time on the bench to recover, because that's what Nichols got in Edmonton too, he did win 5 games with that team last year before we got him. But some people here, you included have decided that nope Willy is done, never going to be able to get his head right again, it's ludicrous. People said Glenn would never get his head right again after he was here too and look how that turned out. People are just entirely too quick to write people off.

If you think the D wasn't playing much worse to start the year then you really weren't watching. The D couldn't stop **** even when they were fresh against Calgary in week 2 and they couldn't stop Glenn in week 1 either. The front 7 has become more consistent and the soft spots in the coverage have been tightened up. That's not being less tired, that's simply adjusting and improving as the year has gone on. It's drastically different the way they are playing right now and it's pretty independent of the offense. Getting more help for sure, but they are helping themselves a hell of a lot more than they were prior as well. It's not just the last 3 games either. I would say starting at the first Hamilton game they really stepped it up, the offense has come along in the last few but the D picked up their play before that.

Question about Rod Pederson vs other media
17to85 replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
ehhh but his background is media and he still plays the game like he's media so he still counts to me. -
"won the jobs" more like Neufeld was handed a job he didn't deserve because of the ratio. If they were really trying to put the best OL on the field from day 1 they would have made 3 americans the starters there from day 1. It's night and day the difference it's made to the run game which helps the quarterback and the entire offense. Willy had the duck and cover routine down pat cause he never trusted anyone to block for him, Nichols has a lot less to worry about behind centre than Willy ever did.
-
I believe the bolded is the part you are not keeping in mind here. Nichols was certainly not the same guy the year after he came back from that injury

Question about Rod Pederson vs other media
17to85 replied to TrueBlue4ever's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
It's not about his biases or just general being shitty at his job that get the ire of other media members and cause them to call him out, it's when he questions the credibility of other people that gets them pissed off at him. He basically has the gall to tell other respected media people that they are hacks and are flat out making up reports. Damn right they're going to fire back at him for accusations like that. -
That really is the biggest difference lately. The D was really bad to start the season but they're tightened things up so much it's making it easier on the offense. Shorter fields, lots of turnovers, that's how you win games. Getting the ball back to your offense repeatedly.
-
He seems like a guy that Walters and co. fell in love with early and have waited around a long time to get him onto the team so he will get all the chances he can handle to be the player they believe he can be.
-
Matty knows that if it were him he's just want to play some huck it! chuck it! football! and put the ball as far down the field as he can and get a bunch of fast guys to run under it.
-
Oh please it's the negative people who are quickest to insult people for the great crime of not being part of their lynch mob. Maybe it's not really a personal insult and just people saying that the emotional and irrational responses are stupid and those types of people getting butt hurt for being called out on it.

4 times you point out that you aren't a big fan and you wonder why you thought that the concert wasn't that great? I mean I think we've nailed down the problem here already. Gord Downie has never had the best vocals and yeah it was a bit rough on Saturday but come on, the guy got a terminal brain cancer diagnosis, just to be up there is enough never mind all the emotions he was surely going through. As a bit of a fan I enjoyed it. I could have sat and watched them play their entire discography all night and still want more. Great send off to a great Canadian band, and good on the CBC for showing the entire thing without cutting away to a commercial once.

what to do with the Def. backfield

Right did get schooled on the big TD let's not forget. Not like he was flawless.
