Wait is this a second account for whichever guy was spewing this stuff last week? Trying to make it seem like there are more people agreeing with him?
-
Rider employee. They pay him to spew all sorts of homer crap and the fan base laps it up.
-
usually it's not about gaining a first down. It's usually just about field position and not taking chances with the ball. You know the other team is going to sit back waiting for you to try and force a first down so you go short and if you get a miracle run and get the first down great, if not you get some yards and punt the ball away and live to fight another day.
-
They are so insulated from the rest of the league they actually believe the crap that their homer media spews.

yeah Bolt is just a freak, there is no way a guy that tall with that long a stride should be able to have that quick a start. the 100m guys used to always be shorter and more powerful and have to take a bunch of steps but then here comes bolt who can hang with guys off the start and as the end of the race comes he just uses those great big long legs to keep powering through and leave them behind. Never see another guy like him I don't think. As for De Grasse, he's a bit of a slow starter too who gets faster as the race goes on so they say but given his stature I can't see him really being a threat in the 200m. Too many taller guys there who will use that natural advantage in the stride length to overcome slower starts.

You know if I had been Dickenson I think my response to "win with some class" would have been simply "at least we can win"

I think what the best part of this place is, is that most of the posters here aren't just Bomber fans, there's a whole lot of people here who are yes Bomber fans, but also fans of the league as a whole who have a great understanding of the CFL and other teams and don't just go on and on and on about how great everything blue is.

You know you'd probably be looking at a simpler trade like getting a first round pick back. Just looking at what Doug Brown was traded for back in the day. Seems a similar situation.

Around The League Regular Season Discussion
17to85 replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Oh please this is the reason people laugh at "rider nation" yes there are passionate rider fans out there, just like there are passionate fans of every team, where the Riders are different is that it became trendy to be a rider fan when they were starting to turn things around in the mid 2000s and TSN started openly fellatting rider fans for being so super duper awesome! All of a sudden everyone from Saskatchewan was a huge fan because look how awesome we are! Trouble is the vast majority of them just jumped on the bandwagon to be seen and to be cool but they're as phony as the anything. You get a bad stretch of seasons again (the riders have been fortunate to not have the extended poor seasons) all of a sudden that support will dry up. That's why Bomber fans are better fans. All the **** this team has put us through and tons of people will still sit through a storm and watch a game until 1 in the morning on a week day. -
What they really don't understand is that if they hadn't been flaunting so many rules and being fined already then they probably would have been warned about that. But when you put the target on your back and the league rules won't let the league really come down on you for the big things then you better believe that you don't get any benefit of the doubt for the little things. The Riders are going to be watched like a hawk from the league as long as Jones is there being his dickhead self and there is no leeway from the league for anything when it comes to the Riders. They are the problem child and they will be disciplined for absolutely everything because of past bad behaviour.

No it was known that Mulumba was going to sign as a FA in the NFL, the thought was that he wouldn't stick around there too long.
-
This is by far the best CFL message board out there.
-
The only thing Jones knows about class is the ass part.
-
OK but the D is a lot better since then. Not in terms of turnovers but in terms of giving up less yards and getting themselves off the field faster. We can't overlook that. The coverage has tightened up a lot from the start of the year and the line is taking control more often too.
-
Probably because there were already enough people shitting all over Willy.
-
And if Willy had gone out and had the start that Nichols did last night the story would be entirely different for some people. There would be lots of "D won the game for him" like there was in that first Hamilton game. There is right now a double standard between the two quarterbacks. Some people see Willy as being unable to do anything bad and gloss over the good he does and some people gloss over the bad Nichols does. There was more than just a qb change for this team and it is unfair to put it all on the qbs. Nichols had a rough game last night that's undeniable, but they made enough plays on offense to overcome the bad and the D and special teams won the battle big time so it was a good win for the team. These are things that weren't happening with regularity early in the season and confidence was down across the board for all players and it showed in the results. Now some good things have happened and the teams confidence is sky high. This team for the past several years has been driven by momentum. When they have it things are great but when they don't have it they can't get it back and things snowball on them.
-
Ahh it was always too early to pull Nichols last night. Yeah he was off but gotta give guys a chance to work it out.
-
chat is usually infinitely superior to the game thread from my perspective. Unless the team is losing, then they're both terrible, but during wins it's great.
-
Never tell me the odds
-
I saw the wonder woman trailer and my thoughts were "wow they're trying real hard to be a female captain america"
-
you take a lesser guy and he may never play for you anyway. In that draft all the good players were getting NFL shots and Mulumba was seen as a long shot and a gamble worth taking. That he actually turned out to have better success sticking in the NFL is just bad luck for Winnipeg. Every draft pick is a gamble in the CFL.

GMs are much more likely to give a chance to rookies than coaches and let's be honest here, some of those guys you've listed as starting aren't even starting and some of them only got the chance because of injuries. Rookies are an unknown, coaches hate unknowns.

Bombers vs Argos Aug 12 Depth Charts ETC
17to85 replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
by the time you lose enough bodies on the offensive and defensive line that you run out of bodies the game will be nearly over anyway so it's not worth it, which is why no one dresses that many people. And if you've having that many injuries you're probably not winning the game anyway so you just play out the string however you can and bring in bodies during the week before the next game. Some people here I swear really try and over think things. -
Every coach will play experience ahead of rookies until they have no choice. After the rookie gets a chance and proves himself you might see a change.
