  1. my point is that if we had some guys who could run block it would mean the run game would work better and take some heat off Willy that way. I look at a guy like Matt Sheridan back in the day, not really that great a lineman all around but he was a big mean SOB and he could move people out of the way for Roberts and it made the job easier for the qbs at the time. I am not really interested in what the stats say about Harris' average, we see what the stats say about Willy and we know that won't float. Harris got stuff when they tried to go to him, this team constantly has trouble in short yardage situations. I would suggest that this team lacks some meanness and strength in the inside. You can fix a lot of problems with coaching but if guys are not physically up to par not much is going to change.
  2. Can we just stop talking about firing people midseason? It's not going to save this season and all you do is get an easy out for next season so you waste 2 seasons at minimum. We are committed to O'Shea and Walters this season might as well get used to it. If they keep ******* the dog then we can talk about blowing it up in the offseason, but this year is not going to see any kind of real change no matter who you fire.
  3. I don't remember if they used one or not but I do remember ranting at the time about how they were pissing away all the time they had left.
  4. Oh please, as far as shitty games to be at in Alberta this doesn't even crack the top 5.
  5. yeah there was no chance it was out of bounds from my seat in the stands. Clock was running and by the time they decided to A) throw the ball and B ) Harris went down the clock was empty on the final play.
  6. I refuse to pin all of this or even most of this on the qb. We have a great runningback and they are trying to get him established and it's not working. We know Harris can make things happen on the field, but he isn't and the reason is pretty simple. He's got no room to run with until the D backs off in the 4th quarter because the score is out of reach. It's high time they stop ******* around with the OL and get some American hogs in there who can make **** happen. Seemed like after every play one of the interior guys was getting picks up off the turf. You can't run and offense when the middle of your line isn't really doing much but getting pushed around.
  7. You know what I hate about Lapo and always have? He's big on getting 5 or 7 yards passing on first down and then running the ball on 2nd. Saw it against Calgary too, with predictable results. Defence blows up the OL and we get maybe a yard out of it and punt.
  8. Ok it is possible i am choosing to only remember the few times i saw him make tackles. There were lots on the other side of the field where i couldn't see who was whiffing on tackles
  9. Special teams have been the best facet of the team and he is running them. I never cared for Hall and his soft defended or bellefool or call as OCs but I like O'Shea and think the talent level on this team is not good enough.
  10. fan pressure on MOS to bring in a veteran guy.
  11. Does he not have options at backup? Walters brings in OK vets but no rookies.
  12. Johnny Adams is hurt and Demond Washington went to FA and we lost him. Those two were the best players in the secondary last year and now we got a bunch of rookies and over rated players like Bruce Johnson expected to do heavy lifting.
  13. we fired Lapo twice before mostly because he was too passive so I don't buy that. He's the same old Lapo. Why did we expect different results? we saw him here twice before and thought so much of him that we fired him.
  14. Dressler hasn't played more than 5 minutes all year, Smith isn't doing much without the support of a real #! guy, kind of like Denmark. Shologan has been over rated from day 1, he's the kind of guy you can hide when he's surrounded with better players. Cumming and Westerman I got no problems with but the other end spot is a hot mess and has been Walters entire time here. Posey and Fogg are getting worked over, Johnson isn't as good as people said. Bass may have been good last year but he ain't done **** this year, it happens.
  15. Yeah Wild Randle and Harris are the only guys on D doing anything positive. Bass is MIA, Westerman hasn't been consistent yet, I think Cummings is OK at disrupting things but the rest, steaming pile of crap.
  16. The D has to take it's share of the blame for being on the field so long last night. Calgary adjusted after the first quarter and ran the ball down their throats. They had plenty of chances to get themselves off the field and did not do it. Soft zone coverage and no tackling on the stamps runningbacks. They were worse than the offense last night even without the 4th quarter.
  17. Yeah and I cautioned people that we said the same thing last year and the year before. Simple fact is we aren't good enough anywhere right now. Messam ran guys over and tackles were missed all night, that's not coaching, that's guys not being good enough.
  18. Macho Harris might be the defensive MVP last night, but it's a low bar. Fogg and Posey got beat up in the secondary all night and the front 7 gave up over 200 yards rushing, that is the kind of night it was for the defense. No one was good but Harris at least looked OK.
  19. I wouldn't really blame Willy though, there was a distinct Lapo flavour to that game. Mid throw on first down, run stuffed on 2nd and short and you're punting the ball. He wasn't perfect but he was far from the biggest problem with the offense last night. He did have a decent completion % even before the 4th quarter. Bigger problem was Harris was no where to be found early on. They tried to get him room but he had none. This team has bigger issues that just the qb. Part of me wonders if good old passive to a fault until it's out of reach Lapo is playing too safe and making it easy for defenses to shut him down.
  20. Forget looking for a new HC, if we're looking for anyone find a GM who can get some talent on this team. Secondary needs help, d-line is a mess, linebackers didn't do much. RB can't find any room until the 4th quarter, receivers not making a huge impact. It's not coaching.
  21. Why? I had a real good seat to watch the abortion last night and there were maybe 2 plays all night where the D-Line actually got pressure on the stamps qb, they gave up nearly 200 yards rushing before the 4th quarter had even hit and were over 400 yards given up overall before the 4th as well. The runningbacks had no room to work with until the Stamps D backed off in the 4th, the best looking receivers were the rookies. This team is lacking talent in a big way. You don't get the ball run down your throat like it was last night when you are a talented team. The problems are players more than coaches at this point, I honestly believe that.
  22. people interpreted the word in a different manner.
  23. Seems like Montreal has a discipline problem, maybe that's why we beat them at football nearly half the time.
  24. Do you remember how unwilling Lapo was to change his qbs out when he was coaching here before?
  25. Bomber fans are the best fans in the league.
