  1. He is already full blown Edmonton. People don't get to oh so proudly jump off the band wagon and then jump back on. Not how this works. You quit on the team in the bad times you don't get to celebrate the good times.
  2. Did they make a beer for men too or just a ladies "beer"?
  3. Someone has come down with a big case of butthurt
  4. Bombers 18-0 everyone else 0-18
  5. Homers the lot of you! I'll try my luck with SJ Green.
  6. I am surprised and I'm the first one to call him useless. Figured they would hide him for the patio and use randle or Adams at hb.
  7. Serious question, did Butcher actually shine in camp or did he just make a good play in that one game and come with a huge body so people are turning him into this beast man?
  8. Nichols ran a ton before he got his legs broken every time he tried. He's not a guy I'd hold up as an example of a pure pocket passer, he's a guy that used to run until the knees gave out.
  9. most young qbs do run more though, it's the lack of experience thing. I think you are using pure pocket passer in too narrow a context. Calvillo, Ray and Glenn are/were all pocket quarterbacks who only ran when they had to or to throw guys off. They aren't mobile but when there's enough room they can move. They're all actually in a pretty similar style to Drew Willy. Willy isn't another Kerwin Bell or Danny McManus. He can move if he has to, the same as AC, Ray or Glenn can.
  10. There are lots of ways to get a qb more time, time for the coaches to come up with something that works for the players on the team. I suspect we've been seeing a bit too much of wanting players to do things they're not great at.
  11. They are not exceptions, I can remember lots of games where AC or Mcmanus looked like utter **** because they were getting knocked around all game long. Those guys just played a game that made it hard to pressure them, but some teams did find a way to do it, and Calvillo especially always had a good offensive line and good game plan suited to getting the ball out quickly. The Bombers haven't done a lot of things right on offense the last few seasons, it's not all on the qb, it's not all on the OL, it's not all on the receivers, it's not all on the offensive coordinator, but it does start there and works it's way down the line up. Figure out how to prevent teams from getting all kinds of pressure on the qb and the offense will be better. Doesn't matter how you do it, just do it, it's priority #1.
  12. That's football though. No quarterback does well when they are pressured a bunch. No one. That's why sacks are so important.
  13. I don't think people consider him elite, just a quality starter, which I believe he is. He makes good reads with the ball. Just like most qbs have issues when he's getting hit all the time, which let's be honest happens a lot here lately.
  14. That's all the Winnipeg media knows how to do is ask leading questions.
  15. Orrrrrrrrrrrr he's trying to show how the number of sacks isn't always an OL problem. If the RB misses a block that's not a problem with the offensive line, if the quarterback runs into a guy all on his own that's not the OLs fault, if the OL gives time but the qb hangs onto the ball that's not their fault. The question was stupid because it shows a fundamental lack of understanding about the game and tries to distil it down into a simple talking point. You guys gave up 59 sacks, you suck. When the reality is that the reporters have no clue how many sacks the OL actually gave up vs. other areas being responsible for it. Spreading the blame around? How about he's actually addressing what the real problems are rather than having his offensive line take all the heat for it?
  16. And that's why you say silly things
  17. And of course the ******* on commentary rather than talking about how terrifically Randle played that called it a dropped pass and acted like the receiver actually got open.
  18. The **** were you watching? Randle played real well.
  19. It's the CFL, the first two regular season games are always glorified preseason.
  20. The amount of things people read into preseason games, oh my goodness.
  21. yeah no kidding, they tried to run early, just getting beat. I said it before I'll say it again, the depth won again but the starters were lacking. It's not just Willy, it's that once the #1s for Ottawa came off the D things improved. Now I will also ask whether we are seeing some better adjustments at halftime than we saw in the past, but I suspect it's mostly just the difference in players.
  22. Honestly I would say that the recruiting has improved this season, the 3rd and 4th stringers have "won" both 2nd halves of games this preseason, it was the #1s that got beaten. So that could still point to the fact that we are lacking at the top end a bit.
  23. Well it's like they always say, offensive line's getting raped again Willy
  24. well just adding dressler should open up a lot more for the receivers because the guy is a vet and knows how to get open so I'm really not worried about the receivers. Lots of bodies in there who will be gone in the next little while as well. The OL thought... if they insist on using Neufeld I don't forsee a lot of good things coming but if they get over themselves and actually commit to 3 americans then it could be alright. Was such a Lapo offense though. Boring, predictable and "safe" which of course led to a lot of 2 and outs.
