  1. part of the problem because a bunch of forwards can't get the defense in shape and they can't get contributions from the bottom 6? Hell lots of nights if Hall wasn't going offensively no one on that team was. I don't see how people like to blame the guys like Hall and Eberle and RNH when the guys around them have been for the most part useless. McTavish was an idiot but he was right about one thing, he called a lot of guys on the team out for being at best non factors in a game.
  2. probably got a job the same way everyone ultimately gets new jobs, lots and lots of ass kissing and networking.
  3. The real concern was the OL, I know some people are trying to place the blame on Willy but give your heads a shake, they couldn't open up any room to run and got stuffed on 3rd and short twice cause they got absolutely 0 push. The OL got physically man handled last night plain and simple.
  4. Same coach, lots of different players. I mean didn't we replace 3 of the 4 guys on the DL and only Westerman is the same? And dude, if you want to read into coverage in preseason you go right ahead, there is a lot of vanilla from everything in the preseason and the Bombers just sat in soft zones all night long so naturally Glenn got some completions, that's his thing.
  5. Is this the "Oh they're all one dimensional players!!11!!" argument again? Hall and Eberle have looked great at the world championships with a team around them that can move the puck properly. The Oilers problem is that their defense is brutal breaking the puck out of the defensive zone and maintaining possession in the offensive zone. It supresses everyones numbers offensively and leads to more opportunities for the opposing team to press the attack. Hall, RNH, Eberle, Draisaitl, these guys aren't defensemen and expecting Sekera to be your best defenseman is asking for losses. What more can the forwards do when the D looks like it does?
  6. Do you have anything to base those defensive claims on other than expecting Jones to have a good defense? Because quite frankly your defense is nothing to write home about at this point and the Bombers have at least attempted to address the major problem they had on defense last season which was the defensive line.
  7. Patently false. Yakupov has been an underperformer but that's really about it. RNH is fine, he's been thrown to the wolves and kept his head above water, just because he had a poor year with injuries this past season doesn't mean he's not a good player. Eberle has been exactly what he's supposed to be, Klefbom looks to have developed great except for getting a freak infection that kept him out all of the last part of the season, Draisaitl looked great last year, Nurse will be perfectly fine. It's not their picks that have been the problem, it's been failing to surround those picks with anything that has tripped them up.
  8. The Oilers suck therefore every player on the team sucks, except McDavid, the stink isn't on him yet because he's only been there for a few games.
  9. But you gotta give it to him for the response to "if you could do it all over again?" "I'd live by myself and jerk off"
  10. Chasing Amy isn't all that great anyway, Clerks is rough because it was done on a shoe string budget but it's a pretty good film regardless and clerks 2 is a favourite as well. Jay and Silent Bob strike back never fails to make me laugh, same with Zack and Miri, Dogma also. It's not deep stuff and the writing is done in a certain way to facilitate back and forth dialogue but that's his thing and if you don't like it that's fine but it doesn't make it bad writing.
  11. You can find most of the lore in the universe just through some digging in WoW anyway but yeah the bulk of that comes from Warcraft 3 (which was made the way it was with the intent of setting up WoW so it makes sense) The first game really was just Orcs vs. Humans, the extent of the story was basically orcs are coming through the portal and invading we have to stop them or alternately we're orcs, let's conquer this world. Everything else in the lore they added after the fact. I've heard plenty of people say they enjoyed the movie and lots say it was terrible, the most general consensus seems to be that it's a fine movie and the CGI is quite well done but the first act has a lot of pacing problems where too much is thrown at you too quickly. So I'll probably check it out at some point, hooray for going to a theatre by yourself cause absolutely no one else that I know would possibly be interested in seeing it.
  12. Don't confuse writing with directing though, as a director yeah he's got a lot of issues and he admits that himself, but as far as writing goes he's solid. It's a niche thing he does but that doesn't affect the overall quality of it either.
  13. I am curious to check it out but the first war was a bit light on story anyway, I would much rather see a movie focussed on Arthas cause that's a good story
  14. He can write, just a narrow scope of things and since he really went heavy into the pot he started doing some weird stuff.
  15. What you got there are some OK receivers but no real star power. They could all be upgraded on and I think the lack of a real honest to god #1 guy is going to hurt. Saw it all the time with the Bombers post Milt. Bunch of OK guys but was always lacking.
  16. That's just homerism. That group of receivers doesn't scare anyone.
  17. kids, don't smoke pot. I am pretty sure Smith only made that movie to get his kid into a movie so I can at least forgive him for that.
  18. Yes Mr. Lumsden...
  19. it wasn't 9 tryouts with the Bombers though, just that he went to 9 different places before he found one that stuck. If you watch the CFL traditions thing they put out several years back he lists everywhere he got cut. Start at about 3:40 of this clip
  20. you think we're going to let you back on the bandwagon though? You disowned the team and went to the esks so pardon my bluntness, but **** you, you're not a Bomber fan anymore.
  21. Welcome to football. No qb is ever putting the ball exactly where it needs to be all the time, you sometimes, often times, need the receiver to be able to help out. The best qbs have always had receivers that make them look better because if every throw had to be perfect there would be a lot less completions than there are in the game.
  22. Not to take away from the greatness of Cameron, but isn't his HOF from his time playing qb in college?
  23. I don't think that's really true of Glenn at all, Glenn has just always been a guy that when he's on and can make quick reads and deliver the ball quickly he'll be good but when adversity hits and it gets to be tough going he wilts a bit. He also requires a team around him that can bring it because his limitation is that he can't will a team to perform better all by his lonesome.
  24. Best possible result in my opinion. Made it tough on the coaches. The running backs took turns making plays and staking a claim for work, enough receivers showed up and made some catches. I thought all the qbs looked fine, Willy just needs to get the timing down but that'll come, he made good reads all the time he was in. Defensive line looked so much better than last year, linebackers should be good. DBs maybe had it rough early on but it was also pretty soft vanilla stuff back there which is just asking for a guy like Glenn to get into a groove.
  25. Did it happen after that game in BC that TSN happened to be replaying last night? Good lord did that guy have a rough game against Arceneaux.
