East Division Final - Ottawa over Hamilton
17to85 replied to Mr Dee's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Don't worry, if the weather gets cold we can get treated to a Burris choke job and watching him point fingers at everyone but himself will be worth the price of admission. He perfected that in Calgary. -
We have fired Lapolice twice already for not being good enough let's not go for the hat trick.

Well as long as he doesn't get hurt between now and then -
East Division Final - Ottawa over Hamilton

meh we shall see what happens with Ottawa next season if the rest of the league doesn't have their quarterbacks all get hurt while Ottawa stays freakishly healthy. -
people looking to maximize profits simple as that. If you can get away with raising prices a profit driven group will do it. What we've likely seen here is the league seeing what the cap on ticket prices that people will pay is.
-
Likely just a case of the Grey Cup game finding it's limit for what people can charge. Priced too high so tickets weren't moving, had to drop the prices to get asses in the seats. It's probably a good thing long term as it should keep the prices from going up crazy amounts every year

East Division Final - Ottawa over Hamilton

The hate for Ottawa is simple... Burris is the tooliest tool that ever tooled. Without question my absolute most hated person in the CFL of all time. I want bad things to happen to him. He's such a ******* phony and it pisses me off. -
ESBs are probably my favorite after a good IPA. Really good stuff. I had the Phillips Coast to Coastless ESB recently, that was really good. Might be tough to find now though, same with their Super Cooper ESB - I think there's one left in the LC at Sage Creek (in the fridge by the checkout) Need to track down some more ESBs.

It's funny, I went back looking through some 2013 depth charts and most of the players from that awful team are still kicking around the league somewhere, in many cases on teams far better than the Bombers. Good enough for the rest of the league but not for Winnipeg. I guess when your QB lineup is Pierce, Hall, Goltz, things don't go so well. Coaching matters. Joe Mack could find talent, he couldn't hire a coach that could get the most out of that talent though.

That actually looks funnier then I thought it would be. I am not a big Kevin Hart fan but I'll give The Rock a chance in most things, guy just seems so likeable.

The thing is on the first Star Wars movies George Lucas wasn't a guy who had carte blanche, he was told no and had a lot of outside input for Star Wars, I don't believe he directed Empire or Jedi either... but by the time the prequels came around Star Wars was this huge thing and George Lucas was above reproach and no one stopped him and said "I dunno about that George..." and the results were the prequel movies. Guy to me seems like a big idea person but in terms of crafting a quality movie not so much.

Can be said about any defensive back in the league. There isn't one DB in the league who never gets beat, especially with the wonky PI rules. DB is very much a position where you win some and you lose some and Washington is a damned good player. Hes "a damned good player" the same way that we move on from johnson not too long ago. this season he was bad. Real bad. Liability bad. Can he bounce back? Maybe. Can we find a bigger, better DB? Probably. I agree. I've been a washington fan. But this year he was out classed a lot unfortunately. I hope we resign him but bring in a lot of competition to TC for that spot. Which one of our DBs didn't get beaten badly at times? Even Johnny Adams who everyone is raving about this year had some games where he got beaten and outclassed. I think the biggest thing holding back the secondary was the lack of a pass rush from anyone not named Westerman.

Don't worry I got ideas that can please anyone. Safe to assume that someone who likes IPAs likes the hoppiness, well there's a wide range of beers with a varying level of hops.

Shopping trip to the beer store? **** yes! Bring some of that Arrogant Bastard if it hit the shelves yet. That's actually out of some place in the states, I just happened to find it in one liquor store randomly. There's some decent offerings from local stuff here that I think would be the way to go. They're small enough at this moment that they won't have much distribution outside of Alberta or even Calgary yet that are a worthwhile try. The debate would be whether to bring IPAs and other hoppy things or go for a wider variety.

I don't know if I should be offended or not....

Last Best is the Banff/Jasper Brew Co, and they just opened up a shop in YYC, I believe. They do have some decent stuff... If you're ever out in Banff, go to the Banff Brew Co brew-pub and try their sampler... Or just order the cream ale, it's ******* amazing.

So, basically you're saying anyone under 35 are stupid. Can we amend that to anyone under 33? Asking for a friend.....

Edmonton Oilers LOL (perhaps Calgary Flames LOL)
17to85 replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I'm just curious & I'm not trying to criticize or pick a fight. I genuinely want to know why you're an Oilers fan? Again, just asking. Oh why is anyone a fan of any particular team? After the Jets left I sort of gave up on the NHL for a while, one of the things that brought my attention back was truthfully a lot of those scrappy Oilers teams that played against the Stars in the playoffs. Plus how could anyone not like Ryan Smyth as a player? Not the highest skill but put up a lot of points just by working his ass off and doing the thankless jobs. -
Probably hire someone cheaper to do it
-
Moore, Denmark and Matthews on the starting core, with Dough Alert and Gudino.....Adams as depth or in some situations where you run 4 IMP REC......unless they can somehow recruit a young quality receiver outta the states.... Yeah Adams as a DI I got no problems with but if we're adding a Chris Matthews then the obvious answer is that he simply takes Adams spot because they play the same spot only Matthews does it much much better.

action movies especially have evolved because of all sorts of new ways to film action scenes, not the least of which is CGI. Gotta appreciate old movies for what is there.

I used to really like Off the Record, watched it quite regularly but a few years ago it just became unbearable and I find myself not really being sad to see it go. Interesting that Sheri Forde gets the axe too, must be awkward with Duane Forde still on staff...

You know what, I don't think it's are serious as all that. Yeah they didn't win a championship, but Milt Stegall (and the rest of the great players around when he was) made a lot of football fans in Winnipeg. Those are people in my age bracket (or just a bit below) who became fans watching one of the best players ever and they're in that age now where they are having families which likely passes the tradition of being a fan down. Sure there's probably not a lot of under 25s but really in the grand scheme of things that's not too big a deal. The thing gets turned around they'll jump on the band wagon too. I hope Wade Miller and the Bomber directors aren't subscribing to this theory, but are instead busting their butts everyday to make this franchise as respectable on the field once again as it is in the hearts of us older fans who actually remember a time we could be proud of the on field product ... The fans of the Montreal Canadians demand that whoever is managing that team puts a competitive team on the ice each and every year. They won't accept less and if you think our team has fans that complain too much, well, you have to admire their competitive spirit. Their fans reach far and wide and the team rarely if ever misses the playoffs. The Montreal Canadiens were a lottery team just a few seasons ago... They are fortunate that they were able to draft Carey Price (who was a 5th overall pick let us not forget) who turned into one of the best goaltenders in the world. They haven't been a juggernaut team the whole way through, they've been up and down like most teams have. The fans can ***** and moan all they like it really doesn't accomplish much. Toronto Maple Leaf fans are demanding too and their media is ruthless, hasn't helped them become a decent team at all. The teams that do well are the teams that don't make reactionary moves at the first sign of trouble.
