No his arrogance means he's arrogant. A lot of the crap he's pulled makes him unlikeable.

Gambled on 3rd down rather than going for a 48 yard field goal with a kicker who is playing lights out. I meant to ask, why do people dislike Chris Jones personally? He seems ok to me. Just his thoughts and mentality on some things. His first year as head coach he refused the traditional handshake after a game with the opposing coach because he felt that it wasn't "genuine" . Apparently he has relented and shakes hands this year because he didn't want to bring "negative' publicity to the club, but I'm sure he still thinks it is an empty gesture. He may feel it's an empty gesture and I can appreciate not wanting to hear 'consolation' after a loss .. that said .. it's about good sportsmanship and the one thing I've always admired about the sport of hockey is that post series handshake .. those guys beat each other up .. it can get ugly .. but at the end of a series there's that show of respect for the guys competing across from you. I guess one could infer that Jones simply doesn't respect his opponents. This is exactly it. The handshake isn't an empty gesture, it's a sportsmanship thing. You show your respect for your opponents and even though you're bitter rivals during the game you still show the respect for them afterwards because the battle ends when the final whistle goes. Arrogance and disrespect are things I can't tolerate in a coach. He's basically Mike Kelly except actually a good coach. Give me O'Shea anyday. There's a guy who respects everyone.

It's old and showing it's age, but it's still a good place to watch football. Not really any poor seats to watch from, yeah there;s bench seats in the endzone sections and maybe up in the nose bleeds, but so what? Not like putting a board on the back makes things any more comfortable.

It's time for the Riders to start sucking ...
17to85 replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
0-6 in a season like this one I think the Riders are already out of the picture given their top 2 qbs are hurt, no point in making a huge trade to try and get a qb when you have so little chance anyway. Best to just lick your wounds and prepare for next year. -
Losing the game on a decision not to try a field goal couldn't happen to a more deserving ******* than Chris Jones. Looks good on him.

McMahon and Commonwealth must be bigger shithole's. well Mcmahon is a shithole but I doubt it's as bad as Shithole central in Saskatchewan, and Commonwealth is a nice stadium still, only problem with it is the track but even that isn't THAT bad. McMahon has benches without backs on them (excluding premium seats). It's way worse than Mosaic. Commonwealth is better though, don't get that one. yeah cause that's all that matters. I hope you realize how hard my eyes are rolling. The play by play team have to use a step ladder to get into the press box at mosiac craphole. It's a turd of a stadium and widely regarded as the shittiest in the CFL. Once the new stadium is built yeah maybe then Mcmahon is the worst but that new one ain't built yet.

Everyone hates the Conservatives and their attack ads... Well does anyone remember why they jumped on the bandwagon for them? Here's a refresher, the fact is attack ads worked and the Liberals for years painted Harper and the Conservatives as the socialist boogeyman to the point where people STILL believe that crap. It's worked for the Conservatives too though, they controlled the perception for Dion and Ignatieff from the get go and they've probably done the same with Trudeau this time around. It's the old repeat something often enough people will believe it.

Yeah Noeller was watching Archie and friends instead. ...... Stuck up Riverdale punks, think they're too good for me...

We're Canadians, our closets have enough clothes to wear outdoors in any weather. Give me the out door football any day.

they probably fully expect Bryant to play and want the rest of the line to play the positions they'll play in the game, plus if Greaves is going to be a backup it's good that he gets reps at all positions in practise because he might need to play more positions. For what it's worth Joe Mack always viewed Greaves as a potential tackle.

I don't like the only the last quote showing feature, 3 or 4 to me is a good number. 10 is too high and I always try and crop ones going too far back out anyway, but in a lot of cases you need the context of a couple posts back.

I'll give Kendial Lawrence a chance this week

Yeah the combination of hands and speed is a real boon. Otherwise it's pretty much just Denmark as the burner out there.

Remember back when Doug Berry was here and the Bombers would have this great opening drive all the time then do sweet **** all the rest of the game? Don't get your panties in a bunch over an opening drive even if it is a long time consuming one. Football is a game of adjustments and the one thing I like about Hall's defence so far is how much he seems to adjust when things aren't working. He doesn't at least from my standpoint sit by stubbornly when things don't work.
-
Won't lie. maybe if you're a couple of negative nancies. I would have only worried if they'd gone two and out on offensively and then gave up another long drive. A long opening drive? Come on we've all been following the CFL long enough to know that the start of the game more often than not becomes entirely meaningless by the end.

Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion

I think it's fun to guess who says what. Is it wrong of me to just assume that any comments with the swearing in them come from Kent Austin? -
Odds and Sods - Game 6 - BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers
17to85 replied to do or die's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Not to mention Washington's great recovery in the endzone in knocking the ball away from the receiver. Reminded me of how school yard football was played. Still unclear why Dunigan thought that was pass interference . . . Because of all the weak assed calls they do make. -
The Day Early Game Day Thread - BC @ WPG

Lulay definitely has some issues with his accuracy which is likely a result of having to change his throwing motion. Maybe he figures it out later in the year? Best to hope they get far enough behind early that they're out of the playoff picture before he does. -
Completely agree...that's a depressingly low bar though Well Khari I would say is a high bar to set he was awesome. I'd say Willy will definitely surpass Buck in his prime and may be better them Glenn. I was commenting on the "since Khari" part of the post. If Willy can stay healthy he'll be better than Buck and Glenn for sure. Kevin Glenn is the QB equivalent to potatoes. They'll get the job done, but I'm never going to get excited about them The **** you got against potatoes? They're awesome.
-
That's not Glenns thing and never has been. Glenn was always a guy that went along with the rest of the team. Willy reminds me more of Khari Jones than anyone. Different qbs for sure but the miles and miles of heart, very similar. Kharis team mates loved the guy I get the sense that WIlly has the same respect from his team.

Odds and Sods - Game 6 - BC Lions at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

I think we should stop starting 2 Canadian receivers and start 4 International Moore, Denmark, Adams and Veltung plus 2 big backs with Marshall and Scott will make Willy's job a lot easier. 1 big back is plenty. I don't know why you have taken a dislike to Paris Cotton but he's still a good runningback. Very explosive and very dangerous. When paired with a guy like Marshall you have the potential for a pretty dynamic running game. Since his good game on the first week, he's been regressing. I am a fan of Cotton, but if it doesn't work (now) a change has to be made. Look at the Pat Neufeld change it made a difference to the game last night. The change is giving Marshall more work. As a change of pace guy Cotton is a great option. 2 bigger backs isn't a change of pace. I've never seen a point in having 2 backs of the same type on the roster. You want someone who can bring a different dynamic to the offense. I will also disagree that Cotton wasn't working but that's a different debate. -

Let's not worry about tiebreakers with BC let's just win more games than them. Shouldn't be too difficult a task, that BC team isn't the same one they were.

I just knew this thread was getting a bump.
