The Jets are dead. Long LIVE the Bombers!

Since you left are you saying you can suck yourself? How do you know I left? Location: West Kelowna would be the tip off that you left the province. -
wasn't there talk about Morley being on the way out the door before the fan forum anyway? I swear to god.... Ok I'm predicting Drew Willy will be the starting qb out of training camp. If it happens I expect you all to pat me on the back and tell me how brilliant I am.

No one is saying he's not a battler, just that he's not talented enough to be our best option at DE. People are fine with him as a rotational guy, but people justifiably want more from the position. It's akin to being happy with Rory Kohlert as your best receiver.

Greg Peach is vastly under-rated by the majority of posters on this board. Peach might've been our best DL last year. I recall a few games sitting the stands and going, somewhat to my surprise: 'Woah! Peach." I like him. Tough. Hits hard. And the DL sucked balls last year for the most part. That's the thing about Peach. People don't hate him, they just recognize that if he's your depth that's fine, if he's your best then your DL sucks.

$$$ yep guy coming back from the NFL I doubt was making chump change. Probably figured it was a good place to save money. They damned sure better have some good recruits coming in though cause if we have to start Peach it'll be another crappy year for the DL.

no kidding. The Jets are in big danger of becoming the Riders of the NHL and that's not a compliment. -
Yeah I hate players who can score at about a .8ppg rate. That's even taking into account the Dallas Eakins Regression Phenomenon (DERP) Eberle isn't a giant but he's a damned good player. Sublime hands and knows how to put up points when he doesn't have a ***** for a coach.

are you going to actually cite Spector as a guy who knows what the **** he's talking about? He's one of those idiots who thinks grit is one certain thing and it's more important than anything else. Listen to what Chiarelli said about getting tougher as a team in his press conference. It's not about being big or even hitting, it's about a mentality and that starts from buying into the coaching. No one bought into Eakins who came up with such marvellous quotes as "the perfect game you throw 0 hits because you always have the puck" Hall would skate through a wall if it meant scoring, Yakupov plays physical a lot, I don't think people realize how much of a chip on his shoulder RNH actually plays with... he'll take shots at guys regularly. Eberle does most of his scoring in close to the net, that takes grit. The problem isn't grit or work ethic or anything like that. The Oilers problems were in this order: Eakins, poor puck moving defence and goaltending. Check the point totals of the oilers D the past few years, it's embarassing. That's the difference between Calgary and Edmonton. Calgary has 4 guys who are real strong puck movers they get the puck going the right way and out of the zone. The oilers had soft as baby **** Justin Schultz and Jeff Petry as guys who could move the puck and they stupidly ran Petry out of town. The NHL game today is all about puck possession and transition. Defensive hockey doesn't really exist, what exists is gaining control of the puck and getting it out of your zone quickly and efficiently so you don't have to play defense.

Oh please not this. Hall is 6'1 he's not small, Draisaitl is a big kid, RNH is around 6'1 as well and not the skinny kid he was when he was drafted. Again not huge but not small either. Yakupov is on the short side but he's stocky and while not big, he's not small either. Eberle is on the shorter side but again, he's not exactly a small player just not a big one. McDavid is listed at 6'1 as well so once again, not huge but not small either. Simply put the size issue is over blown in a big big way. Those players all have their own type of grit as well. They're not grinders who run around throwing hits, but they stick their noses into the dirty areas all the time. You know what the Oilers really need? They need some guys on the backend who can generate offense. Full stop that is the biggest problem with the Oilers. They lack a serious amount of puck moving ability from the back end and too often forwards are not getting pucks in full flight and it leads to opposing teams being able to defend them easier. Do they have to trade someone? Not right now. Maybe in the future but for next year no they really don't need to trade anyone unless the return is too good to pass up. The biggest thing that will help the Oilers is Klefbom and Marincin continuing to develop and someone like Nurse to be as good as they hope he can be. If they can make a smart free agency signing or get someone in a trade (sort of like the Isles did with Boychuk and Leddy) things look a hell of a lot different. It is quite frankly sickening to listen to people continually harp on the lack of size and grit arguments which have no basis in reality yet keep getting perpetuated.

Extreme disagreement....I'm quite picky about both! pffffffft the hell you are.

Probably when McDavid proves himself to be as much of a **** head as Tyler Seguin was and Cam Neely comes to work in Edmonton and runs McDavid out of town. Never mind that prior to that trade Ericsson was a 70 point player every ******* year. That trade is massively over rated as a blunder. Seguin was a problem in Boston with his attitude and they got a very good return. Just sucks for Boston that the main piece had some injury issues.

The terrible running back play at very least falls on the coaches though.... and there was talk from the OL that the coaches made their jobs harder. It's all well and good to say there was some talent deficiencies, but there were some iffy coaching decisions as well and given the mediocre at best reputation our offensive coordinator has (And that's a well earned reputation) I'd say it's foolish to pin most of the problems on the players. Even though prior to the injuries, that team was shooting the lights out on offense?? Coaching is about adjusting. Teams adjusted to the Bombers and the Bombers couldn't make adjustments to those adjustments. That sounds like a Bellefuille hater spinning as hard as he can, right there.... no that sounds like reasonable logic. Sticking with Grigsby isn't an injury issue for example. You're definitively pinning the Grigsby thing on Bellefuille based on what exactly? I give OShea his share of blame for that too, but I am pinning it on them for one simple reason.... they're the coaches, it's their job to make those decisions.

but he was the saviour!

Chiarelli has been given Lowe's spot AND MacTavish's! And there is much rejoicing in Edmonton. That's a good hockey guy who built the Bruins into one of the top teams in the league. Lots of speculation because of all the Hockey Canada connections that Babcock is going to wind up as coach, but Todd Mclellan is an option too, possibly Claude Julien if the Bruins fire him. Any of those three would be a quantum leap better than Dallas Eakins.

Falls for Padme? If so...Natalie Portman. That's all you need to know. Falls to the dark side. Portman is gorgeous ofcourse. That was an odd relationship in the context she meets him when he's a little boy, he goes off to train/fight and next she sees him he's a teenager and she ends up in bed. For a leader of a planet she exercised pretty poor judgement. In fact, she was downright stupid in several respects. That's simply writing problems. Better writers could have made the relationship seem more natural and less forced.

HA!I appreciate anyone who puts training camp reports up, but you sir, give the impression that this is SRS BSNS and get uppity when someone else gets more credit than you do. Definitely comes across as attention and approval seeking. For me it's all about giving credit where credit is due. That's how I am at work and it's very much appreciated by my subordinates, colleagues and my supervisors. It's not about seeking approval or attention. Different environment here I guess...which is seeking approval... how you not grasping that? Credit where credit is due is not the same as seeking approval. If he was posting solely for stature or perceived stature amongst over posters or to be accepted as part of a group then perhaps you could say he was seeking approval. But giving credit is different. Giving him credit for his had work writing and posting his reports of tc etc is different. He puts in a lot of effort to share with other people and does it for the community and not for himself. I for one would be sad to lose out on these reports because all chest pumping that goes on here a lot of the time. Appreciate the fact that gbill, mike and other contribute to this group in ways that other members like myself can't and let it go. anyways.. back today lurking... It's a ******* internet message board, if you need credit for anything you are seeking approval plain and simple. Some people around these parts definitely get off on trying to be seen as important. It's akin to having a conversation in a group and asking everyone for credit for a comment that you made. You see how shallow and ridiculous it is?

every power source has limits and yes I am aware that they talk about dilithium crystals, but the fact is that if you look at the theoretical work on warp fields, the magnitude of the power required for that, let alone all the other energy ---> matter technology they have it might as well just be magic. Let's not even get into the idea behind their transporters. That technology was implemented simply because it was too costly to film shuttle landing sequences every episode. It's all still magicked away, they just dress it up in sciency mumbo jumbo. The difference comes down to the format of each. In an hour long tv episode you can come up with an explanation for why the problem of the week can be solved, in a movie you don't have time to explain everything, you just have things that work because they work and explaining why takes away from the action and adventure and makes it more tedious. Episodic story telling can be more detail focussed by it's nature.

Kendial Lawrence was a scrambled mid season pick up in my fantasy pool and he was maybe my most consistent point getter. Guy is a good player.

Fwiw, he's the 2nd biggest Taman fan on this board...... Yeah I am insulted that people forgot how much of a Taman booster I am (not when he wears green though)
