once again this blog can be summed up like this: "I walked into Kyle Walters office and man oh man is this guy just the best. He is bar none the best GM in the league and he is ensuring the long term success of this team for years and years to come" I understand they gotta put the positive spin on things but this is just so over the top it's ridiculous. I honestly expected a line in there about how Walters and O'Shea helped a few old ladies cross the street before getting to work.

Should we shrink the field and add an extra down as well? Maybe play with one less player per side? **** off with the NFL bullshit.

The CFL needs to learn that sometimes you just have to leave well enough alone. They never learn their lesson it seems. Too many rules that come up in the moment because something happened the year before and they have no eye for the long game.

There is one reason: space. You put that stuff in the cockpit and you lose room for seats and paying customers.

Kamau Peterson? No not Kamau Peterson...he was Canadian and I believe played a lot of football before he got to the CFL. This guy was a track star of some kind and we brought him in to see if he could catch the football too. Didn't make it out of TC.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but if we followed this strategy in the year Muamba was taken #1 we would have wound up with Mitchell and that wouldn't have done a god damned thing to help the OL. At least we got a couple years of Muamba being a ratio breaker. Take the BPA always. The only time position comes into play is if there are two players who are close.

Good point, if Bryant gets seriously injured I'm not sure this O-line will do much better than last years edition. An upgrade at Center is great but it's not going to help them much out on the wings. if Bryant gets hurt who we drafted isn't going to make a lick of difference.

Well yes it puts CO2 in the air, but really everyone in Canada burning natural gas to stay warm is still like peeing in the ocean compared to the CO2 generated by China in a single day. Even if the man-made climate change myth had some validity to it, taxing natural gas just isn't going to do anything to stop it, and is just a revenue grab. So just say so. Also - in terms of "alternate energies" - I support them, as long as people look at the entire picture. Some look at a wind turbine and say "see it doesn't generate any CO2". Well, that's not true. What about all of the CO2 generated in constructing it in the first place? And what about the acid boiling that is required for the giant rare earth magnet in each of those turbines? And what about all the birds that are blended by wind turbines? I'm not a big supporter of wind or solar. I do support nuclear though. This is something that a lot more people need to be aware of. Canada may have a high per capita emissions rate, but we could stop all emissions tomorrow and it wouldn't make one bloody bit of difference. The US, Russia, China, India they all pump out so much that until all of them drastically alter their emissions nothing will change. I don't think you can argue climate change at this point, what you can argue is how serious an issue it is. It's a costly thing to "fix" and I don't know that the economic hardships are worth it. I think a lot of the doom and gloom is overblown. As for wind and solar, in some areas it can be a viable source of energy. In Canada though I don't think solar is all that realistic for a large amount of power, just too few daylight hours in the winter. The big problem with wind and solar is that it's unreliable and affected by too many outside variables to be the dominant supply, but as a supplement I think they have merits.

This is a good thing except it might get used as excuse to jack up the price of some channels since they can't subsidise the crappy channels in packages anymore. I think ideally we see channels that can't generate enough viewers wither and die and I don't think that's a bad thing, but it might also mean some channels cost more than they did before because if there's one thing cable companies know how to do it's **** over their customers.

The local connection is all the more reason I say to hell with OL and draft the kid. Would be great to get more local flavour on the team. It's just good all around. The fact that he's a talented player helps a bunch too.

Oh yeah I really hated season 2 just because of all the useless changes they made, season 3 I liked because they took it back closer to the books even if it made no sense given some of the changes they had made previously, but season 4 showed me that without the books to lean on they have no idea. To be expected from the guys who brought us Troy I guess. They are not terribly gifted, just lucky they had such a rich story and characters to play with. I'll support it just because I think there needs to be more well done fantasy on TV and in movies, but I'm going to gripe a lot about how they've botched so many characters. Completely whitewashing Tyrion, botched both Robb and Stannis horrendously, I'm sure there's a lot more I could but I'm going to get angry thinking about it.

The books are even more boring. I've tried to read the books twice and never been able to slog through them all, the movies on the other hand I really like because they pick up the pace and cut a lot of the useless fat. As for GoT, the first season was fantastic, after that they got too full of themselves and started ignoring the source material. If you haven't already, do youself a favour and read the books, far far superior to the show, except that fat old George RR Martin is a slacker and won't finish the god damned series already. I read A Game of Thrones when I was 13 for gods sake! That was damned near 20 years ago.

We signed two americans who should be upgrades on the OL and we signed a veteran Canadian centre... Those upgrades plus the continued development of the guy they drafted last year should make the OL stronger and less of a problem area. We need Canadian receivers too because it's the #2 Canadian position on the team and we don't have a lot of game breaking ability there. This team needs top level Canadians at every position, if there's a receiver in this draft who can be that guy then by all means take him.

I have wanted to watch the show because it seems to be up my alley... is there somewhere that streams the past episodes online so I can give it a shot when I get some time?

I understand what Brown is saying and there is some merit to it, but he's not looking at things from the correct perspective. Yeah there are a lot of Canadians playing OL, but there's a lot of Canadians playing receiver too. Is there a team that doesn't use at least one and more often 2 Canadians at receiver? It's basically a guaranteed Canadian position and with some of the recent acquisitions on the OL taking a receiver in the draft can be just as good a move because you need Canadians at receiver too.

I hate when the NDP says they're going to hire more doctors. No kidding, seems like there's a shortage of doctors in this country, especially in remote rural areas. If hiring doctors was just a case of hiring more doctors it would be an easy fix. I'd like to hear where they propose to find these doctors that we need.

haha...indeed. That stadium is pretty old and crappy. Those top row benches for the 09 GC reminded me of the old Canad benches...instant ass freeze... It wasn't even that cold in 09. You should have tried sitting on them when they did the outdoor hockey game there... now THAT was some serious ass freeze even with the snow pants and a sleeping bag to sit on.

Burning natural gas does still put CO2 into the air, just a lot less than oil or coal or other heavier hydrocarbons. I just wish that if people were serious about reducing CO2 emissions they'd stop with the BS "solutions" like carbon taxes and carbon trading scams. Invest in alternate energies, the barrier to them is the cost compared to fossil fuels, bridge that gap and things will swift. Easier to just tax people and parade it as a solution I guess.

This is something that should be looked into. I don't know if it's the best solution, but it needs to be looked at. The trouble is that you start talking about private anything people go all in on the "No American style health care!" rants. There is a lot of middle ground between Canadian and American health care, we should stop pretending it's so black and white.
