Maurice Leggett signs contract extension

The fact that he is willing to commit for 3 years is just great. -
pot this is kettle, you're black! Seriously you're just impatient. What's wrong with letting the team get everything lined up and making announcements all at once rather than doing what you want, tying the can to the coordinators and then hoping they can get someone they view as a replacement to take the job. As we saw last season wanting to get someone here isn't the same as actually getting them. The disconnect here is how YOU view the coordinators the team has and how the TEAM views the coordinators they have. Safe to say the team holds them in higher regard than you do. Seriously, I'm not being impatient. They've had over a month to make up their minds on if they are keeping MB and/or Etch. It is safe to say that I think the coordinators need to be replaced. If you think the coordinators are good enough, it's just another thing you're wrong about. Keeping them = similar results next year. Quite frankly, there are more than one OC and more than one DC out there who are better than the coaches we have, so there's no down side to canning our current guys to make room for replacements. It's also safe to say that I disagree with the TEAM's view as I fully expect them to keep MB and Etch and I want them to tell the fans what's going on. statements like that don't make you sound like you're not impatient. then you do your usual dressing up opinions as facts that you so love. It's a classic post from you.

What tardiness is that? Other candidates they had interest in choosing to go somewhere else rather than sign in a coaching graveyard?

George Cortez won't be back with Riders in 2015

I don't know if we can pin the failings of the 2014 offence on Bellefeuille or the OL. Is Bellefeuille's offence (and Willy) effective with a league average OL or better? Does the offence (and/or the QB) make the OL look worse than it is. Personally, I think both statements are somewhat true. Bellefeuille's offence can't truly be evaluated if the QB is having to improvise as often as Willy had to in 2014; but the guy was a statue in the pocket as the season wore on. I think if we're throwing money at problems, I throw it at the OL and the DC. If the OL improves, Bellefeuille's offence MAY be better in 2015. Etch's scheme is a known quantity, and HE brought in the players he wanted to fit in the scheme. That's not a failure you can lay at the feet of the players. It's the OC's plays that tell the OL where they need to go. According to January, the schemes were not very good and made the OL look bad. And from what I saw, I tend to agree. You can give MB all the best OL in the world and I bet our offense will still suck. Bellefeuille made Calvillo look like he was washed up and the montreal OL look useless in 07 that says a lot right there. -
but is Newman better in that role than Sears?

There are kinda 2 pictures here. There is the producers, and what they get for a barrel, then there is what the gas station charges. The 2 are only loosley connected and there sure seems to be some collusion amongst the retailers. That's what most people complain about. The lag from the drop in oil prices to the drop at the pump is not offset by how quickly pump prices move when the barrel price goes up. Gasoline and crude oil are not the same thing that's the biggest thing to keep in mind. Gasoline is a product of refining oil, the oil is paid for before the gas is sold that is why there is a lag between the price of oil dropping and the price of gas dropping. Yeah retailers will keep prices in line with each other but that's not a conspiracy, just setting a price point at what the market will pay.

If we can judge etch based on history we can judge bellefool on history too. When and offensive coordinator has been on many teams and been at best average I don't think he gets the benefit of the doubt. -
We're still a recovering organization though. We've been the CFL's worst operation since 2009. Other teams' scraps SHOULD interest us. But should we scrap our co-ordinators, or worse yet throw their names in the wind as "potential to be replaced" before they've found a capable replacement? What if we can't secure that guy? Will the players in the locker room respect their DC if he's openly rumored to be replaced? Good organizations "make their dominoes fall" because they have the luxury of being able to be ahead of their competition. We're not a destination job right now... we can't do that. The hardest thing about being charged with leading a losing organization, is that it's soooo hard to turn it around. Look at Hamilton in the 2000's. Took them over 10 years of futility. Yes we should scrap any coordinator we find lacking. As soon as you make the decision that they are lacking, they've already got one foot out the door. We should not in any way name folks as "potential to be replaced". Cut them and replace them. There's always more than one guy who can replace them even if we miss out on the top prospect, especially when you're talking about MB and Etch. Good organizations make things happen, not because they are ahead of their competition, but because they have they make the right decisions more often than not. Sure it's hard to turn a losing organization around, but it's even harder if you keep the dead wood employed because you're too scared that you might get even worse. backwards as usual. Replace first cut second. If they're waiting to make sure they get their choices before firing anyone what good does it do to air all your dirty laundry in public? You seem to be one of the people who just wants the coordinators fired no matter who they are replaced with but that's a silly attitude that isn't going to be shared by the team. Honestly I'd suggest you only want a press conference so you have something new to ***** about. Probably just want to know if you cna really start in on the bitching about keeping the coordinators or not. Too much entitlement and impatience here.

why do people even bring up the word conspiracy> There's no conspiracy at all, it's pretty ******* transparent, it's just various entities trying to protect their market share.

OIl is below 70 cents a barrel and still falling because there is an over supply globally, prices won't get jacked up until the price comes back up as supply gets cut and that will take some time to happen. Companies don't just shut down their production instantly. OPEC has already said they won't cut supply so the first to be cut will be American oil shale production, if a low price persists then you'll see oil sands production cut, but that would require several years to really see a big impact, too much investment already to just walk away from because prices are down.Of course you mean 70 bucks. However OPEC has only said they are not cutting NOW. The higher cost producers within OPEC are outraged at that decision. OPEC made a decision but is far from unanimous. They have to revisit this issue in a few months as well. There is way more oil in the ground than just American shale that could be curtailed. What happens first is the capital drilling programs will be curtailed before any current producing rig is shut off. This stuff happens all the time in the resource industry. As an example Mines produce all the time during a dip in the Underlying commodity. I know how the oil industry works, I'm part of it, I work in the production side of things. The reason I say that it's American oil shale will be the first cut is because it's the most cost and energy intensive kind of oil to produce and it's the newest player. The way they are getting a lot of that out of the ground it's pretty straightforward to postpone production there. There will be lots of production cut, but a lot of it depends on the company drilling it and the complexity of the play. Really this all came about because the United States has become more self sufficient and less reliant on mid eat oil. OPEC doesn't want their global market share impacted so they're willing to take on lower prices to drive some of the production from the higher investment sources down. That means Oil shales are first on the chopping block.

Because he has a proven track record and most people ignore Sasks woes because of injured qb and crap receivers dropping balls. MB has never shown an elite offense and the fans are tired of mediocrity on offense. What do you suggest the blue do? Cortez from everything I've read, has a very strong personality that leads to short tenures everywhere he has coached recently. Talent or not, is that really what we want here? This team could probably use some strong personalities. After the lame assed nice guys with poor systems we've had would be a positive change to get someone to grab the offense by the balls and get em playing the right way. -
Where does Kevie end up in 2015?

The Grey Cup 103 logo is ... very royal blue
17to85 replied to Mike's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
the jersey they came up with last time is just an abortion. I won't even buy a blue one cause it's hideous. The **** they got for the signature this year was even worse. Whoever was working with Reebok on that front was clearly an idiot who had no idea what fans want in a jersey. Simple is better. -

Cause he puts a good offense on the field and has for quite a number of years now. More than that though, Bellefool needs to get gone. We'll never be a winning team with him around. -
I certainly hope she acts better than she does in Game of Thrones. Easily one of the worst actors on the show and I'm not sure if it's her fault or the writing and directing they give her.
-
Hell I don't even know how good of an offensive coordinator Khari Jones is or isn't but as a shameless fanboi I want him involved in the winnipeg organization in some way.
-
Well he spent a few years in Hamilton and got caught up in a coaching change, went to Saskatchewan and then got a promotion to go to BC, not like he's been run out of town everywhere he's gone.

That already happened. And statistically Durant had a really good year but he didn't like Berry so he got him fired. Durant is a good qb but he acts like a whiny ***** sometimes and is a real coach killer. -

Experts and scholars looking to push their own agenda. Seriously, apply even a shred of logic to what makes racism and you will see that it has nothing to do with oppression or power. Anyone can be a racist regardless of what their status is. Trying to change the definition of racism to what you are suggesting is quite frankly one of the most racist things I've ever heard.
