  1. Kind of like everyone who said that once there's film on young qbs and teams know how to defend them they struggle and people shouldn't over value good early performances?
  2. Bomber players don't count
  3. Mike Quinn was the guy that had the Bombers in field goal range and was supposed to just hand off on second down to gain a few more yards to make the game-winning FG easier, and instead he tossed a bomb into the end zone that was underthrown and picked off, thereby losing a game that the Bombers had pretty much won and in the bag. Berry just about had a coronary and Quinn was on the plane out of Winnipeg the next day. Berry no doubt has his locker emptied before he even got into the locker room. The play was supposed to check down if the safety was playing deep, Berry asked afterwards "didn't you see the safety?" Quinn replied something along the lines of "I saw him but thought I could beat him anyway". Well that was that and he was out of town the next day.
  4. The pure unadulterated jealousy that the rest of Canada exhibits towards Alberta is just staggering. Like its just easy money for everyone out here.
  5. The thing is , the Bombers defence has been improving. For the Bombers is really does come down to avoiding turnovers. They turn the ball over it's bad news for them all around, they tend to give up a lot of points following turnovers.
  6. Plus one of my biggest problems with the NDP is they are generally on the isolationist side of things not wanting to fully embrace global markets. Then there's the fact that they seem to want to meddle in provincial affairs from a federal level, that bothers me a lot.
  7. I think you might be camping wrong.... anyway I'll hope that Andrew Harris can come up big for me.
  8. Interesting that you don't mention what the economy has been going through with the current Fed. Gov. Yeah, stupid Harper and his plans hurting the entire world markets. What Harper did to Greece is ridiculous. What we need is a strong NDP government to come in, raise taxes, destroy jobs in Canada's energy sector and increase spending. That will save the whole world. ;-) It's weird that even with the evidence what the Harper Gov. is spinning badly that the NDP are being mentioned, when their name has not been brought up. It's what we have. The Liberals, the NDP, and the Conservatives. Again, I want to stipulate that I'm not endorsing anybody..just trying to make people aware that our Gov. needs to do better than what we have been presented with by the current party in charge. They may do things to piss us off, but so did the Liberals before they got the boot and given the track record of all those provincial NDP governments I want no part of them in power federally so I hold my nose and vote for the Conservatives. Until the Liberals wake up and realize that there's more to the country than Ontario and trying to placate Quebec they're un-electable out here.
  9. can we just dump the review process entirely and go back to good old human error since it still exists with replays anyway?
  10. Interesting that you don't mention what the economy has been going through with the current Fed. Gov. Governments don't have as much impact on the economy as people think. This current down turn was going to happen no matter who was in power. Markets are down all over the world, the price of oil is real low, these are things Canada really can't do much about. My concern with an NDP government is their willingness to treat corporations as their own personal piggy banks.
  11. It's so difficult to get a pulse of the nation, living in AB, because everyone here is just SO dyed-in-the-wool Blue, and anti-everything-else......it's interesting to me to see polling numbers and try to get an idea of what's happening out east. Well basically the way I see it is this: each party has their base that doesn't really change much, the swing comes from where the "**** Harper, get rid of him no matter who it is" segment of the population rests their vote. For a while it appeared like the NDP were getting all that support, but if the Liberals are starting to climb then it likely means some of that vote is shifting to them and if it continues it will be hard for the NDP to actually finish ahead of the conservatives.
  12. Liberals climbing is bad news for the NDP.
  13. curious, but ultimately meaningless. The CFL is a copy cat league and teams should know that blitzing the bombers hard = wins so I'd expect everyone starts coming after them. That's what happened to them last year. Book on how to beat them was out and everyone did it.
  14. honestly I'd probably sit back and see if the young qb gets happy feet and whether he's going to throw the ball right to you or not. Game already moves fast for young players I am sort of opposite in that I think you might be able to catch them thinking they'll have less time than they do and making bad decisions as a result. Then when he realizes he's got more time you start to throw a lot more at him.
  15. It is unfortunate Marve is forced to work within an archaic offence that is designed for a 3-step-drop pocket passer. Hopefully Marcel tweaks the playbook to Marve's strengths, actually its similar to what Mike Riley faces in re-tooling things at Nebraska O: http://hailvarsity.com/news/hot-reads-the-past-present-future-of-dual-threat-qbs/2015/02/ Bellefeuille prefers mobile QB's, there's no doubt about that. He spent 3 seasons trying to replace Kevin Glenn with Quinton Porter, they started 09 with Porter starting over Glenn. Porter could never take the reins, but every year Bellefeuille was head coach in Hamilton he gave Porter more opportunities than he deserved to win the job. The archaic offence stuff is getting a little stupid too. Let's get at least 80% of our offensive line looking like they belong in the CFL. There's no play call that's going to compensate for a centre and guard being completely useless on any given snap. And who did he have in Saskatchewan? Was it still Nealon Greene the glorified running back?
  16. Agree with what u are saying. Austin never shuts it down. If he was calling off the dogs he would have pulled Collaros out of the game. Yeah Austin is the kind of ******* who would love to win a game 62-0, there is no way his team shuts it down. Hell after the back to back picks he basically went and bitched slapped everyone on offense for it. Killer instinct is a huge advantage in a coach. Never fun to be on the receiving end of those games. Jones in Edm is the same way, the esks are going to pound you with that dline for 60 minutes, no mercy. it absolutely is. Those two are guys who not only want to beat you they want to beat you into a bloody pulp and make you question everything about your team. There is no letting up for them, you just play your hardest every single snap of the game doesn't matter the score is. To be honest with you, I thought O'Shea would be that kind of coach when you guys hired him. Mike was ultra mean on the field when he played. A guy you always wanted to keep an eye on. I figured a O'Shea coached team would be a mean group. Not insulting the Bombers and saying they aren't tough or anything, but that really hasn't been o shea's style a head coach. Even on special teams in Toronto he was mean and had a fiery unit when he coached there. Honestly I think he is but maybe his assistant coaches aren't and he's not really a meddling type. Ritchie Hall has been a pretty passive defensive coordinator for a while and Bellefool is soft as baby **** on offence. He's sort of hamstrung because with how many coaches the team has fired no one wants to coach here. It sure does seem like that based on their overall play to date. Very conservative. Does he have the players that fit into his preferred system? Maybe he's being passive because he's adjusting the system to what he has available. This isn't Ritchie Halls first go round as a defensive coordinator. He's got lots of history and my memory of his defenses are not ones that terrorize you with all sorts of aggressive pressure.
  17. I also think Walters is over rated in regards to Canadians as well. I just don't think he's done enough to improve the talent level on this team. Every GM finds some guys who can play, the question is, has Walters found enough?
  18. nobody could have predicted that!
  19. The benefit is that he's gone and there's no temptation to just keep him around next season.
  20. No no no, football players, especially quarterbacks only have so many hit points and we used up all of Willys before he had a change to regenerate some. NNnnnneerrrrrrrrrrd! yeah but everyone has known that for a long time.
  21. Homer vote for Khari Jones.

  24. Brohm is just one of those guys who needs to make 10 or so good throws in a row to score a touchdown. You can get away with that when you're Ricky Ray or Kevin Glenn, but not when you're Brian Brohm.
