  1. short kick, he picked it up and kicked it back down the field. At the end of the half I guess. Maybe they were trying to catch them off guard or something, lots of players onside at that point.
  2. A few comments on your post. First of all, I live in the same community that Brendan is from and from what I've been told, he really liked Winnipeg. Its only a 4 1/2 hr drive from here. Rumours they wanted to move him to center may have been a factor. I have never spoke to him about it even though I know him, out of respect to his privacy. What I post is strictly my opinion. There were Bomber jerseys hanging in every bar and restaurant in town, because everyone here was/is dam proud to see him playing pro ball. His parents are rider fans but I've seen them at many games wearing their Bomber jerseys like any proud parents/family would. Would anyone expect any less. In the 2008 draft we took Shologan 4th and pasted on Brendan when we could have drafted him. In now way, shape or form could I possibly say I know that he would have stayed or not, but I do find it odd to read that others are positive that he wouldn't have. Currently there are Stamps jerseys hanging too with Jones on them. Our little town has turned out 3 olineman in the past 5 years. Using Neufeld as a example, his parents are long time season ticket holders and sit right behind the rider bench as they have for years. Paddy basically got hurt and in the mean time Heenan came in and took that job and owned it. Paddy now is in a good situation with the bombers and everyone here is happy and proud of him. Wishing him every success in the world for a long and healthy career. I believe he is very good and was sorry to see him go. Just this year we lost Zack Evans to Ottawa via the draft. He is a free agent at years end and I'm sure I'm not the only one that was hoping he would return this winter to play for the Riders. He re-signed a bit ago and opted to stay in Ottawa. He likes it there and its a good situation for him. Again, no hard feelings here, Wishing him the best of luck. Long storey short, Manitoba and Sask aren't that far apart, being in one or the other offers great opportunities for family and friends to stay close and still come watch games. For a Manitoba kid that didn't get a chance to play for the bombers, would it not be at least reasonable to suggest being right next door in Sask would be the next best thing? just my 2 cents, no hard feelings were intended. From Labattes mouth himself, he didn't want to play centre but he never brought that up with the Bombers. He said this in an interview after he went to the RIders so that's as close to the source as you can get. If a guy isn't willing to talk to the Bombers about whether he wants to play a position or not it's clear that he had already moved on mentally. He was going to Saskatchewan the whole way and he was using the Bombers to get more money from the Riders simple as that. I don't begrudge him that, I just wish people would stop acting like the GM made a huge mistake, he was negotiating from a position he couldn't win. There's lots of things people could choose to get on the GM for but the ones they always fixate on don't hold a lot of weight.
  3. Actually no. What I'm suggesting is that O'Shea is contributing to the problem, without knowing it.and I was responding to the comments tracker made.. Might want to use the quote feature then. or just stop being so self important and realize not everyone cares what you say
  4. Actually no. What I'm suggesting is that O'Shea is contributing to the problem, without knowing it. and I was responding to the comments tracker made..
  5. a better way to word it is that some people need someone pushing them from behind to motivate themselves.
  6. That's the kind of hard hitting analysis and insight we love to have. It's true though. which has been said by many people in this thread already and many people have added reasoning behind that belief in addition to simply stating that it's not going to happen.
  7. That's the kind of hard hitting analysis and insight we love to have.
  8. Just a question. What's the storey with Paddy? I was looking forward to seeing him play. Is he a healthy scratch? Why hasn't he been 6-gamed? Has he lost his job as a starter? Neufeld? He's hurt. They love him so if he could play he would be.
  9. No offence intended but why should we hope for a miracle when we have been unable to do what was within out power to accomplish? I like O'Shea but he will be left holding the bag while the coordinators failed to come up with appropriate game plans. I guess they got hung up on the success of the first six games and believed they could just go with that. The point is that all we can do at this point is hope for a miracle. I don't know what your point in arguing this is... Noeller is simply saying the playoff race is out of the Bombers hands because of pissing away games.
  10. The only real complaint I have with O'Shea is that he won't make line up changes when guys aren't obviously playing poorly. That's cool and all that you don't want to bench guys, but part of really getting the most out of a group is knowing how to put your best players on the field. Sears really is the example here. He sat on the IR for an inexcusable length of time while healthy. When healthy he is one of the top players on the team and you make room on your roster for players like that. Little more proactive roster management from him and no complaints about his coaching.
  11. So if he hits FA lets not try at all? Typical fail attitude. Apparently you're not alone. Pie-in the-sky is thinking this team gets better if we stay with the personnel we have. The point is that he's not bloody likely to hit FA. Saskatchewan boy who is a good player? They'll pay him whatever it takes to retain him and what's his motivation to leave the Riders? The only possible one is money and I don't see anyone offering him enough to move because that's just stupid. Better off not wishing for players you have an extremely low chance of ever getting. It's just a waste of time.
  12. But at the same time when you have a reputation, and Kuale has a well earned one, you don't get the benefit of the doubt so you gotta stay well away from the line because you used up all the goodwill you might have had at one point.
  13. High risk high reward has been the Etch MO all year, fact is that with some better reading of the play by Leggett it was a loss of yards on the play. I am all for a more traditional defensive mentality here, but bottom line regardless of what is called the players still have to execute.
  14. Leggett was looking for the qb all day on that play. He keeps contain on the RB it's stopped in the backfield, instead the back got outside and it was a huge gain. You gotta play smart and make the plays when you have a chance to make them.
  15. it's not like guys were being run over when tackling so I don't buy the size argument. The problem as I saw it was that guys took bad angles and tried to do too much arm tackling. You clean up the technique and a lot of those problems disappear.
  16. Who and to where? Seriously, who wants our garbage. We don't have anything of value to trade and the guys we do have of value, man we shouldn't be trading them.January? be lucky to get a late round pick, the guy sucks. Again, when was the last time something like that happened, trading guys for picks? this isn't the NHL, it's the CFL, this stuff doesn't happen often at all if ever. It's rare for sure. And we don't have guys to trade really, the guys people probably want to trade, we could release an they still wouldn't get picked up. Obviously we do have players of value. We have some veterans. I'm not suggesting we can trade guys for starting Canadians. I'm saying our season is done. If we can get any draft picks for any non-core player, then do it. but again, this isn't the NHL, you don't see teams sell off players for picks. They just don't have that kind of value. Every team has guys on the PR they feel are as good or better than the depth players on other teams. Quite frankly the Bombers depth is the #1 problem this year, you won't get anything shopping those types around. Anyone that is worth something is worth more to Winnipeg.
  17. I honestly think the Stamps D got complacent and started playing really soft in coverage. Couple big plays later and momentum swung. They've got another gear.
  18. If we're thinking pie in the sky then the Bombers need to get Owens and Elemimian and Cornish. Just make it happen Walters.
  19. The problem is... how? What Canadian do we have that we can start in place of an American? I guess you could figure something out like move Morley to RG and start Goossen but I don't know.... If the OL is going to get beaten anyway play less americans there, take Romby Bryant out for a NI (though if moore is back that's less of an option) There will be ways to do it, but we see last night why Sherman should still be a backup.
  20. probably because they're non existant. All I saw were over throws and interceptions
  21. I still think Calgary is tops in the west provided Cornish and BLM are healthy... but will they be? That's the real question.
  22. go ticats I suppose
  23. So are you willing to admit you were completely 100% wrong on your backing of Doege over Sunseri?
  24. They way he played last night the only place Sherman should be headed is the bench. Jigger the ratio so we can play Sears in that spot again please.
  25. Kuale is the worst kind of football player. One who is too dumb to understand why he's been "targeted" for all these penalties. Here's my advice for him: STOP BREAKING THE LAW *******!
