  1. yeah well you can't judge a running back when the most he gets are 4 carries in a game.
  2. and man is it going to be some kind of drunk out.
  3. I just wish we'd given Cotton a proper chance to carry the mail to see what he can do. If he does get picked up and looks good, or even better than Grigsby there's going to be some explaining that the coaches have to do.
  4. Kuale obviously, Grigsby is getting better at the areas people bitched at him about, Kuale hasn't gotten better at all, and maybe has even gotten worse.
  5. That's basically the problem I have with the Rider fan base. I got not problem with the older rider fans who have been through all that **** in the past, they have learned that humility, they know how easy it is to be stuck in that wasteland of bad team management. It's all these bandwagon jumped who hopped on board after the Riders started to emerge from their futile ways that bug me. 2003 they started to really pile on the bandwagon. Going to University in Brandon all of a sudden out of nowhere people start mouthing off about the Riders beating the Bombers in the playoffs and I knew damned well they didn't know **** about football and then all of a sudden they're strutting around like they've been fans forever. Get ******. It got worse after 2007 and it's still just as bad. That franchise badly needs a good run of bad teams again just to thin out the douchebags in the fan base who actually bought that crap about them being the best fans in the world.
  6. I should hope he leads the league! He's played more games than any other running back. He leads the league in the same way he got the starting job in the first place, everyone else got hurt.
  7. yes, yes I do.
  8. An unpopular opinion around here but I agree. Watson doesn't have very much time left, between his constant injuries and decently high salary I don't think he'll be here for more than another year or two. IF we could get a second rounder and a backup Canadian receiver for him, I'd pull the trigger on a Watson deal. A desperate team like Ottawa with a foolish GM might be willing to overpay for him. What we should be shooting for is pushing Watson to a backup role. It's the same old thing I always have to say, you don't cut or trade people until you have a replacement for them.
  9. the next best thing to the Bombers winning the Grey Cup would be the Riders going 0-18.
  10. the best kind of correct.
  11. No you don't. yes I do
  12. Well that sucks. Do we have any defensive tackles kicking around at all? This game in BC is pretty ******* important. Get a win here and you can stay ahead of them and win the season series and give yourself that much better chance of finishing ahead of them. Now we've got I guess just Turner and Thomas as defensive tackles? What happens if one of them gets hurt in the game?
  13. ??? Don't look at me. I always enjoy when the Riders pound teams with their best players in. BTW what has Kevin Glenn ever won? He's a ringless wonder. Yeah he'd definitely have a ring if he hadn't gone out in the Eastern Final in 2007. The Bombers would have pounded that crappy Rider team into the ground. A season where Glenn was protecting the ball well and losing the Grey Cup primarily because the rookie qb committed 4 turnovers... siiiiiggghhhh. The football gods truly hate us Bomber fans, they put us through so much **** time and time again.
  14. I'll reiterate what a few others have already said... even if we "airlifted" in 4 or 5 NFL cuts, the chances of even one of them playing and making a difference at this point in the season is very low... I disagree if we're talking about an O-Lineman... I think if there's an opportunity to bring in a lineman that can make a difference and help our run game, the brass would be stupid not to. It's our weakest spot. Sure there's going to be a learning curve, but I don't agree that an "airlifted" O-lineman couldn't make a quick impact if he's got the talent! But they inserted someone from the PR onto the OL and hasn't our running game looked better the last couple weeks? Even facing one of the tougher defensive lines in the league? The problem with the o-line right now seems more a ratio one than not having americans who can do the job. They absolutely need to bring some guys in... but I am curious about the players that are already on the practise roster. Can they play at all? If they can why have we stuck with retreads who aren't doing much like Romby Bryant, if they can't play why are we still wasting time on them? The idea that bringing in NFL cuts is going to improve out starters is wishful thinking, but it might improve your depth and long term prospects.
  15. Are holding calls differentiated between offensive holding and special teams holding? Between receivers holding and OL holding? Cause then we're onto some good statistical analysis.
  16. you're such a ******* know it all
  17. and at the start of the year everyone hoped we would be a mediocre club... we're better than the worst teams and able to play with the better teams even if we don't get the win. That's an acceptable first step considering where we started from.
  18. Guess you'll just have to wait and see how many guys they add to the PR when it expands. PR has nothing to do with an 'airlift'... you know that. Airlift is bringing in starters - every year the PR expands after NFL cuts Find a situation where a good team (we are over .500) brought a CFL rookie up from down south and put them onto their roster in the 2nd half of the season in this decade (2010s). We did last year because it was basically an extended 2014 training camp and we basically lost our entire OL at one point so Knapp and Jones got tossed to the wolves. Just doesn't happen. That's easy, Kenton Keith. not so easy because he's not applicable to the stated criteria. Pretty tight qualifiers I'll agree but let him prove me wrong, the 'X-factor' was signed late in the season iirc but I don't remember which, only him running all over us in the playoffs at home, big upset too. I was curious so I did a quick google search of Kenton Keith... here's something you should pay attention to: Keith signed with the Saskatchewan in December of 2002 so how are you trying to pass him off as a mid season acquisition?
  19. You're talking about one player so let's close the door on the rest of them too.... Do you have a source on who the rest of these players are? Cause there's Matthews (not coming north), Hall (most likely not coming north, seems to be limited interest from both CFL teams and Hall), Hunt (injured) and Damaso Munoz. Well you just named 4, now how about draft picks and neg list, you got those too are we to assume that none of those are panning out either? Well Kyle Walters talked about the draft picks on the CJOB pre-game show last weekend, directly from his mouth "None of those guys are coming to the CFL this year, they're going to try and exhaust every NFL option the remainder of this year" So only 30 or 40 neg list guys to go then. Either way, do your effing job and look for talent instead of recycling filth like Kuale & Bryant, who despite experience, bring nothing to your team. and no where did Walters say he wasn't going to bring anyone in, he just said don't expect anyone to come in and be a super star for the remainder of the year because that just doesn't happen.
  20. Because there is nothing to report, except 1 - 4 and no changes coming. I'm not a reporter but if I had to 'fabricate a story' about no news, what else would I do? are we talking to the wall here? It's not what they're reporting, it's HOW they're reporting it.

  22. but then good luck getting free agents to sign there. Glenn already tells everyone who will listen how much he doesn't like how he was treated, how do you think it will look if they trade their jewel of a free agent qb less than a year in? No one is going to want to go to a place where they won't even give you a year before getting tired of you.

  24. We can look at the recent past and see how NFL cuts are handled in todays CFL... unless it's a guy who has previously played here, the guys you add when NFL cuts are willing to come to the CFL generally sit on the PR for a while before they get to play, if they get to play at all. If you are plugging a new to the CFL NFL cut directly into the lineup it's because you are desperate for a warm body. The days of NFL cuts coming in and instantly starting and making a difference are long over.
