The Argos, similar to the Lions, do fairly well with regional television ratings (suggesting an appetite for CFL football). Personally I believe that both teams suffer from inappropriate sized and designed venues. The Argos should be in a venue around the size of Landsdowne or TH Field. This will make them a "hot" ticket again. our resident Argo fan around here (though I haven't seen him around much this year) swears that the location is just crap for the Argo fans out there. I'd be inclined to believe it. I think the big issue with the skydome isn't the size, it's the fact that the Argos are the unwanted tenant who can't get their choice of dates and times and it's in a location that is too much of a chore for a lot of fans to get to. If you want people to get to your stadium for a game you have to put the games at times when it makes sense for your fanbase and make it easy for them to get to and from the game.

What exactly do you want him to say? Whomever plays has to step up and make plays it is really that simple but you can't expect a coach to throw his players under the bus. I would prefer some honesty from O'Shea and have him say that the running game and run defence both are sub-par and need to get better. Pretending that all is well when pretty much everyone sees the problems is an insult to the fans. He doesn't have to throw players under the bus by naming names unless all else fails, but candor would be appreciated by fans and media- we've been fed enough BS by previous regimes. no we haven't, everyone loved Burke being honest in the media but the team didn't play for him, at least the team plays for O'Shea. Here's the thing we all need to keep in mind, with good coaches what they say in the media doesn't matter it's what they say behind closed doors that matters and honestly I have 100% trust in Mike O'Shea coaching this football team. I will disagree with some of the little roster decisions he makes, but in terms of having his team ready to play the game? No worries there. The way this team bounces up on the mat and comes up swinging so many times this year I will never question what he's doing to motivate his charges.

I don't know that it is it's a game that would be nice to win but not a must at this point. Honestly I think the Bombers are better than the Lions and should be able to out duel them for 4th place at least. I think people prematurely jumped on the Riders for their early losses. The way it looks now is that they'll be battling the Stamps for top spot in the west. I think the Riders can beat Edmonton and further drop them down the standings, Calgary has shown twice now they can handle the Esks. I have no doubts that the Bombers are capable of beating the Esks, whether they will or not is another issue but that's one they really gotta put some effort into winning. Be nice to take one off the Stamps but that'll be a challenge for them. I think they can beat BC again. I don't think you will need the ridiculously high record like 10 or 11 wins to make the playoffs because I think there is going to be some seperation coming in the next month. get to 9-9 and I think you're pretty set for the playoffs. The west can't keep winning every week and after this week it will be easier to see where things stand. I think best case scenario for this weekend is seeing the Stamps at 9-1, the Esks and Riders at 7-3 and the Bombers at 7-4. That's what to cheer for in my mind.

But that's a bullshit attitude too. The fans the Argos do have are as good as any. It's easy to be a Rider fan or a Bomber fan, it's not so easy to be an Argo fan, they put up with a lot of **** to be fans of that team.
