The biggest thing this team has lost (other than the stars getting older) is the depth that made them so good in 19 and 21. We need better more useful depth. Guys on the roster to never take a snap is a complete waste given the age of this team.

The biggest weakness Oshea has is for guys like Bighill. There is absolutely no way Bighill should have been playing in that game. None. I don't care what his career looks like, I don't care how tough he is. Bighill is barely able to play at the appropriate level when healthy and that is just a fact. He;s getting old. Happens to everyone. -
The only guy? really? Not Thomas as well? Alexander ain't what he once was. Could still be useful as a depth pieces but he's not the same guy he was a couple years ago. That's just the D.

of course it is, we're sitting here bitching that we've only won 2 grey cups in 4 straight appearances and have 3 straight first place in the west finishes. What we got here are first world problems.

I don't think it was a particularly great crop of rookies in training camp... but I do think we saw in the final game of the year that some of the defensive line guys on the practise roster could play and contribute... moreso than for example Bennett... or Thomas at this stage. Given the number of canadians we were starting there was no need for the roster to be built the way it was. Then you keep a useful guy like Kelly off too just to get old man Thomas and Bennett on the roster to do what? Nothing useful. And I'm not anti Thomas... but he's past his best before date. -
I can't believe it either. how does it feel to be right for once?

I said after the west final I was more worried about Bighill playing hurt than not playing at all, surprise surprise, the old guy who is barely hanging on when healthy wasn't good enough to play hurt. Houston should never have been in for rose. Houston missed the tackle in the backfield on stanback on the als first TD and he got beat for the final TD. they never should have gone as much of the season as they did without proper defensive line depth. Kolankowski should not have kept the starting job all year when he clearly isn't as good as Eli. Hell Eli was ahead of Grey before the vaccine issues, why was he relegated to backup? Not like Gray is killing it at guard. Collaros has problems but no one seems to be helping him out of it. playing schoen hurt was a bad call too. Just so many things that were building. This core was built 4, 5, 6 years ago, I was OK running it back this year but it didn't work, time to make some hard choices and reload.

and his competition was vernon adams and Chad Kelly.... Collaros being the best qb in the league is a damning indictment of the quality of qb in the league right now. I've said that for years.
-
Thing is he wasn't THAT good in the regular season. Cracks definitely started to show and he was a lot more hit or miss. Father time is unbeaten and collaros might be at the end of his time as a top tier guy. The comeback was amazing but....

Call it what you want … you need to move on from Collaros

It's funny because last year before the Grey Cup a coworker was asking me about my thoughts on the Grey Cup and if collaros would play. I said well he will play, will depend on if he can be his usual self.... to which he replied something like well usually collaros isn't great in the playoffs. By God if he wasn't on to something -
Again Jeffcoat is fine, just need depth on the DL and no old man thomas and Bennett snd Jackson don't count.

Collaros didn't get more than the 2019 playoff run with lapo, and in 2019 we had streveler to help the offense Outlook. -

I don't think it's the playcallinf. I think collaros isn't adjusting to not having all day in the pocket. Also, the MOS stuff is roster usage which is definitely an issue. -

Collaros has sucked at the short game since day 1 here. It worked early on because teams were still in the Bombers gonna lapo the game with nothing but short passes. They've adjusted and Zach won't take the underneath stuff. -

Send him to Ottawa. Get some much needed depth and Ottawa is bad so bot much chance of it coming back to bite us. -

All year collaros has been underthrowing deep balls. He had 2 easy touchdowns if he leads his receivers. Instead one was an interception and another knocked away. He doesn't handle pressure in the pocket well anymore either. He ran himself into several sacks. Guy has been figured out at this point. If not for Brady dragging this team along it would have been obvious earlier. -

Yeah Hall got stupid in this one. Went from a masterclass vs. Adams to dumb dumb I'm this one. -
I think Wilson was still fine otherwise I agree with most of what you've said.

And extra Canadians on the DL because reasons. 2 years in a row they have neglected what made them champions. Quality depth on the defensive line. -
Jeffcoat is fine, we just need to have some depth at defensive line to keep everyone fresh. That what won them cups in 19 and 21.
-
Punter, Jackson, bighill (unless he is a backup but not going to happen so don't give the coach a choice) Thomas... that's just a start. Those are the ones that need to be off the roster.

Collaros 3 grey cups in a row not good enough. I'm all in on brown because Zach is so fragile that without top shelf protection he wilts. Could have buried these clowns early and didn't. Houston over rose was a mistake. Bighill and schoen shouldn't have been out there. Kolankowski getting pushed into collaros for thenfirst sack started the offense tonunrwvel. Eli should have been starting for ages. All the things people have brought up before coming in to play. -

When in Cologne they mocked the folks in Munich for drinking beig steins off beer, it gets warm and flat before you finish etc etc. They then went on to extol the virtues or drinking from a 20 cL glass. They keep bringing them until you put your coaster on top and it's always fresh and cold. I don't know what my point is other than I like beer and there's no wrong way to drink it.
