That is a starter single malt. Its a little harsh but you can really taste that it tastes like pears and its nice to start of with something where you can really get the notes easily. Harsh really isn't a problem, I kinda like my booze to burn a little bit on the way down.

They didn't start but Markett and WIld did generate some buzz in preseason, Dunn started and started the year pretty well I think. Last year being the 3rd year for the GM it does make sense though that there were less spots for rookies, a lot of the spots were being filled by players that regime brought in previous years as you would expect.

I think it's probably not a bad thing in the big picture. Lets you get a good idea who your team is going to be and you can focus on preparing those players to start the season rather than still having to evaluate a bunch of players.

Oh good. A 35 year old Korey Banks and an MLB who no one else wanted. what about randle? willy? moore? newman? eventhough he is hurt. Unless a starting qb, starting cb and starting receiver isn't good enough. Can i ask you an honest question? What exactly did you expect from this regime in one off season? for them to completely over haul the team? Cuz i don't think that was likely, our main issue is our lack of non import depth, that can't and won't be fixed any time soon, that will take time through drafting. Do you think Winnipeg was high on the list of free agent destinations? We were the joke of the league last season, it's going to take some time to get rid of that reputation. You don't lose that reputation over a few months, it's going to take a few years. We were 3-15 last season, most free agents in every sport wont sign with a team that Sucked. We sucked. It sucks that we sucked but, before going and writing this new group off, should probably give them a chance first. None of those excuses matter when it comes to import competition, talking rookies, not veteran CFL free agents. 99% of the time they have no say in where they end up in the CFL if they decide to pursue the CFL, they could care less about the history of the Blue Bombers. This is the worst competition among import spots I can remember since Taman ended up running the show solo after Ritchie was fired, basically the only solid competition was at DB, and Maher was a good option too. Import scouting and procurement is something a front office can really control, whereas the non-import issue is a longer term solution of drafting and developing. Hopefully some of the rookie imports who made the team show us a little more when the games count. People can say what they will about Joe Macks failings but the man did know how to bring in some rookie talent.

He's got some talent if they can develop it. I like his hands for sure, seems to catch the ball when it comes to him most times.

Glenfiddich 12 year, I'm up to try it but Cory is being a ***** and I don't wanna start drinking it on my own.

Walters did speak highly of his abilities in the offseason, only asterisk he put next to him was how often he was hurt.

best part of that game was calling the game breaking interception by Bolden. And of course watching the BC game in res where the BC kicker preserves the win by nailing the upright... I think I was also at a home game vs. montreal early featuring a hell of a goal line stand, loudest I've ever heard a stadium get when that happened. arguably 2002 they had a better chance to win a grey cup too... but losing Stegall before the playoffs and Roberts on the first play of the west final, doug brown playing on a sprained ankle... just too many key players hurt and they still were within 3 points in that one.
-
he dropped a ton of passes in game 1, receivers who can't catch tend not to be worth much. I am a bit disappointed in cutting Hall now, I think that was a move that could have waited until you make damned sure you're other backups are for real but whatever I know why they did it... I just don't have to like it. Guy makes one mistake compared to the other and he's out that's a risky way of running your team.

Only 22,500 tickets sold for home opener

But for how long if they don't make the playoffs? That team is still in the honeymoon phase. It will always be sold out. There is an 8000 person waiting list for season tickets. The MTS Centre is sold out into eternity. Did they not require people to commit for 5 years when the Jets came back? Once that 5 years is up and if the team still hasn't taken strides come talk to me.96% of the first wave of commitments that came due signed up for another term. Half of those people re-upped for six more years instead of the mandatory three.I think the team will be fine. easy to say that now, let's see how it looks if they stagnate as a team that doesn't make the playoffs. Look I get it, Winnipeg is excited about having the Jets back, but if the team doesn't make strides the Winnipegger in the fans will take over and they'll stop the blind support. Oh sure they might be fine for the next six years. Maybe even ten. Hell they will be done for 15 years. But mark my words. At some point in the next 100 years they will have trouble selling tickets. Remember you heard it here first. So you deny that there is a honey moon period? Get real here. If the Jets don't start making the playoffs the fans will stop spending money. All depends on how the team performs. The first years were always going to be an easy sell. Lots of excitement about the team being back. -

I already did that joke. well it's a good joke, consider it a compliment that I would steal it/come up with it independently.

One of the things that Watson can do well is block and in that situation it makes sense to put him in the slot. I don't see Moore or Denmark being too effective coming inside to help with blocking.

Marve was so impressive they gave him **** all for playing time in the pre-season. Look I get it, he was good that one drive in the home pre-season game, but he was very obviously behind the other guys on the depth chart and that didn't appear to change at all. He was most likely looking at a PR spot to start the year anyway so if they're bringing in a new qb the most logical place to look at who he is going to replace is the guy sitting #4 on the depth chart. Obviously he was behind the other guys, he's a fresh faced fn rookie for gods sake, why are you making so many excuses for max hall? why are you in love with mediocre to garbage players like max hall and jamie stoddard? Seriously, I like your pic tho, it explains you quite well, sheldon, always right even when he's wrong. I'm not making excuses for Hall, I'm providing balance to the outright hatred many people here have for the guy. Walters spoke highly of Hall in the offseason, he was #2 on the depth chart throughout most of training camp, it seems a dramatic turnaround to up and cut the guy now, especially considering that he really only made one mistake in preseason, and even that some people are choosing to look at as not much of a mistake. Again, there are many people here who were going to hate on Hall no matter what he did just because he was a last year player.

most of the argument seems to be though "I don't like Hall because last year sucked so therefore he's a useless qb and I will actively look for reasons to support that belief"

this contest discriminates against out of town fans. I should take this to the human rights commission.

good thing we got a new thread about this rather than carrying on in the two other threads that were talking about him

we have dvds with all the games that were broadcast on, it's shitty quality but it is a hell of a lot of fun to go back and watch those games. That season was just something real special, damned shame they didn't finish it off right with a Grey Cup win.

Good if you like a nice pale beer. Lots of choices to choose from in that category, which is why it's puzzling that there weren't more choices there. it's because stouts and super hoppy IPAs are all the rage amongst beer snobs. It's kind of sickening. I don't mind a good stout now and then but I don't care for overly hopped beers. Give me something amber or a red and I'm totally happy bit of hops but not too much. Hell I enjoy a nice blonde lager too time to time as long as it's got a good flavour to it, but hops are a crutch these days it seems.
