In Winnipeg most of the non season ticket holders buy their tickets last minute. No one expects a sell out on this team, they need to rebuild a lot of the casual fans trust, but they'll get into the 25000+ range I have no doubts, especially if it's a nice evening. I'd hope they'd be much closer to 30k than 25k for the season opener. After all the **** this team put them through last year? Gonna take a while to build up some goodwill. The games were so bad last year that even the diehard fans were having trouble sticking it out until the end, how do you think the casual fans reacted to that? They'll take a wait and see approach and the first couple games are likely to be low attendance. If they show some back bone and maybe even win some games early in the year fans will come back, but they gotta earn the support back at this point.

Kerwin Bell had a pretty good season for the argos before we got him.... The problem with Bell isn't that he was a terrible qb it's that Khari Jones blew the doors off as his backup and people preferred Jones so much that Bell started to get taken down in order to elevate Jones (completely unnecessary but that's the Bomber way)

Winnipeg has always been a walk up crowd to fill the building, why are we surprised by the number of tickets sold now? In typical Winnipeg fashion people just need something to ***** about.

Some people are saying that is a failure on recruiting…what if it's success by Kelly? The Bombers last successful days, Jamie Stoddard was a mainstay at 5th WR. A sticky hands guy without much flash that just caught whatever was thrown to him as a 5th receiver. Why not Kelly? Queue the Stoddard love You called?

Kelly wishes he was as explosive a player as Chris Brazzell. I'll grant that Kelly has much better hands than Brazzell but Brazzell was much more of a threat to do something in a game.

Seems to me that Fords best asset as a runner was his speed.... He wasn't terribly elusive but if he got a hole he had the speed to hit it and run a long way. In that video ford was caught from behind by a db I think at the goal line. Maybe the db is fast.. But would think ford should be faster? I drank during games to lessen the pain. so one example where a fast defender (and yes Cox is fast himself) vs. 3 or 4 highlights in that video where he runs away from everyone and you draw the conclusion that he's not a fast back? Are you serious? You're ******* with me right?

and in those 8 games he's played he was fine, yeah mostly on special teams sure but that's where your backups are supposed to shine right? The guys problem is that he breaks all the damned time not that he's got no skill.

The Bombers biggest issue is that they lost one of their top guys at a position that it's not usual to have a NI in. If you can insert Muamba back into the middle of the defense it looks a lot different. Losing 2 of your last 3 top picks to the NFL when you're trying to rebuild your depth isn't helpful, especially when in the last couple years you've lost your best NI to retirement and your next best to free agency.

Stephan was never a bad player for this team, he just couldn't stay healthy. It kind of seems strange that everyone decided this year that he was a useless player rather than simply a guy who is made of glass... very strange indeed.

How about because when they signed the guy they hadn't lost 2 NI players they were hoping could be at least rotational starters to injury for the entire season. Are you seriously missing the point here? It's not like the canadian kickers have been outperformed here, they were all close so if it's close AND your NI depth has already taken a hit with season ending injuries then why the hell wouldn't you expect them to cut the import kicker?

Here's the thing, the church absorbed all the pagan holidays because it was easier to convert the heathens if they could say "hey look! all our holidays are the same as yours!" Halloween is All Hallows eve, ie. the night before all saints day. i was there for the first time this preseason, I don't think it looks like there's a bad seat in the house, really impressed with the place.

i still say they keep all 4 qbs around. given this teams history they'll be using all of them at some point this season anyway.

the IR was one of the only ways to protect your draft picks who weren't quite ready to play yet though.... I think the CFL really does need to come up with some way to let teams retain players rights.

except that he really doesn't serve a purpose on the roster... we don't need a NI rb who can play rb so Messam doesn't help the ratio much at all. Volny may not be a great special teamer but seems to me he actually plays them unlike Messam so what value does that guy actually hold? not like he's going to be a starter for us and allow us to use an import at another position or anything. This is all about some of you seeing a name you recognize and figuring it's a great idea to bring him in.

I'm trying to connect the dots to where it makes us better.So you are suggesting that we have a game day roster that features only 2 running backs (Cotton/Messam) and use the DI elsewhere? Please correct this if I'm still not understanding you. I will then explain why that doesn't really make us better. expecting tburgess to justify his opinions in a way that makes sense is asking for too much. Kelly gets way too much flack here (beating a dead horse), being a guy that came in midway through the season last year and looked pretty decent (in bursts, of course). I say let the chips fall where they may. He will likely be the starting WR come the first game of the season. What I like about this management team is that they are constantly looking to get better, and that is for every position. except he really didn't... he made like 3 really impressive looking catches and disappeared. He did about as much on a per game basis as Etienne did and you all couldn't wait to run Etienne out of town. Kelly making the team means the scouts failed to bring in anyone better and that is not a good thing. Not liking what he did last year should not entirely invalidate all the good things he has done this year. what a couple catches in preseason? Not like this guy is a rookie, he's a known CFL commodity and what the CFL knows about him is that he's not anything more than a roster spot filler.
