Cortez is a great OC but he is stubborn as hell. He is doing very little to help the young QBs. Not using Dressler until the 3rd quarter is on the OC. he tried to get a running game going to give the young qb help but the OL got absolutely owned and the run game got nothing. That's the issue here, teams know that if they take away the run the young qb can't beat you with his arm, it's not going to get any better either. Sunseri fluked out the win against Ottawa because of one big play by Dressler, you take that away and the rider offense had nothing.

The thing that really blows my mind is the decision to pull Sunseri and put in Doege. Nothing like good old desperation to ruin your young qbs confidence. Now if they go back to him next game he's looking over his shoulder every time they don't connect on a play wondering when the hook is coming. The fact that Doege was no better and probably worse (at least Sunseri wasn't throwing suicide passes to receivers) just makes it all the more LOL worthy. Shame the Bombers gassed their matchups against this team because the state they're in right now is not good at all.

No expansion team was ever going to be a competitive team. Just not in the cards unless their GM is some kind of brilliant genius at recruiting american players (which obviously Desjardins is not) The big problem for them is that Desjardins thought that all he needed was a qb, that arrogance led to setting expectations higher.

That Ottawa team is just all sorts of bad. They got a lot more problems that just a qb.

with all the ways you can score in the CFL it takes a real special piece of incompetence to get shut out. Looks good on that team, though I hate to see the Esks do it, they're every bit as arrogant.

Rookie qb problems. There were a lot of people here tried to tell the rider fans that this would happen, teams would be able to shut down the running game and the passing game wouldn't be able to make them change that strategy but nope they wouldn't listen.

Esks loss helps the Bombers more, but Riders getting spanked provides tears from rider fans which is always fun. Honestly I think the focus for the Bombers should be BC anyway so this game doesn't really matter too much.

Every time Glen Suitor makes excuses by saying the Riders haven't had many possessions I want to kick a puppy. They haven't had many opportunities cause he can't get first downs when he does have the ball dumbass!

The way I heard it explained, its all about pain management and Willy is able to play through the pain due to guts and, presumably, injections. Hey if the safest way to have sex is abstinence the safest way to play football is not play football. Even abstinence is not 100% safe. There is the concern that last year was simply the rebound from firing a coach and there will be a let down. The comments on Schiefele and Trouba were simply an analysis of the roster right now. For them to be a good team those guys have to play like top players. I don't know if they can do it for a full year because it is a lot of pressure to put on players so young.

Sunseri had problems with the pressure that Hamilton was bringing, and not many teams put as much pressure on the qb as the Esks do. The only chance the Riders have is if they can establish the ground game early. Or I suppose if the esks decide they want to turn the ball over a million times, but that seems less likely. Ottawa is so bad right now, Montreal should beat them without too much concern.
