Main Camp Day 3 (Reports and Discussion)
17to85 replied to M.O.A.B.'s topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I don't hate him, I just don't think he's what you hope for out of an import receiver. A new scouting staff should be able to produce better than that. And from the reports in which we can take with a grain of salt it appears Kelly is excelling over most of the new guys. Should we be pleased that Kelly is stepping up or do we look at this as a red flag at our recruiting ability? We look at it like a veteran has an early advantage on rookies, TBD if that holds over the entire course of training camp. -
Rookie Camp Day 3 (Reports and Discussion)

I really liked his explanation for it. I really do think O'Shea is going to be the kind of coach that the players will play for because early indications seem to me anyway that he will protect his players rather than doing the old Tim Burke toss them under the bus. Whether they're a good team or not I expect them to fight a hell of a lot harder this year than they did the past 2 years. -
TSN Off-Season Game Plan: Winnipeg Jets

Oh wait you were serious... Let me laugh even harder. If the Kings want out from Richards contract they'll find a taker and I'd be shocked if it wasn't a better return than having to retain salary to pick up a KHL player. I don't know, that's a pretty ugly contract. He's been trending down the last three seasons and his contract pays him a lot of money until he's 35. yeah but there's teams with cap space who would be willing to take a chance on him bouncing back. He does have a lot of winning experience. -

Madani: CFLPA Recommends Strike Vote To Members

I have a hard time believing that.I don't in the least. They're committed... You believe that 98% of players who will be lucky to play 2 years in the CFL are willing to lose game cheques just to get a few more sheckles for future players? I'm sorry but the world is more selfish than that. -
Friesen doesn't give a ****, I am telling you his article after the Bombers next Grey Cup win is going to be titled "All Down Hill From Here" Guy doesn't care about doing a good job he's just the worst sort of troll out there, an obvious and bad one. Good trolls have subtlety and intelligence, Friesen just tries to hit people over the head with his trolling.

how often do we ever hear anything about o-linemen in training camp? Everyone focusses on DB and receivers and qbs. -
Ted Laurent expected to sign with Ticats

Braleys money was great for the CFL, Braley himself is a **** stain on the league. -
Yeah how Schultz hasn't been booted out by now is just mind blowing. One of those absolute morons with no charisma who thinks he's bloody brilliant and a showman. Hate them so much.

It's not just that Friesen took a stupid premise for an article, it's that it's a horribly written article too. Guy just has no talent and I hate to see untalented hacks being gainfully employed. I dare say there's a good number of people on this site could write circles around Friesen if they had the opportunity. Now as for O'Shea not letting coordinators talk to the media, that I like, especially when you actually listen to the way he explained his reasoning. This is a guy who the players are going to love I think. Already seen him stand up and put himself between the media and the players more than Burke ever did.

The classy thing to do is not mention it and let us all wallow in our own self pity.

I just don't see how the players will actually stick this through. It's easy for hockey players to give up games when they make millions of dollars a season, but in the CFL? Man these guys can't really afford to miss a pay cheque not to mention that the turnover in this league is stupidly high as it is not playing doesn't help any one increase their longevity in the league. I understand the position that they want to make a stand, but there's just no way they will win this. They might be united now but once they find the money isn't coming in there's going to be a lot of guys just wanting to get on the field. -
You can get away with that until the age of 30 hits you like a mack truck. damn you old age!

What's Duthies story? If he's sticking with TSN without hockey to do would seem pretty natural for him to shift back to the CFL panel.

Bombers negotiate Transit game day discount

All that is is intimidation. Unless you're someone important posting crap on the internet is no different than standing on the street corner saying anything which is quite allowed. Just there's a lot of people willing to go through the process of trying to scare people with lawyers even though there's nothing they can really do. -
Walters has talked about Swiston having injury problems as well so I am thinking that he is very aware of injury history for players which is a good view for a GM to take. Doesn't do you any good to have a guy on the sidelines all the time.

Except that when Suber tackles a guy it's in the open field, how good a tackler would he be if he had to shed blocks from very large angry men to make those tackles? You could easily argue that open field tackling is harder... but I'm not going to.... I'll take more stock in the depth chart once the roster is announced... harder in a different way but easier in other ways too.

sounds like something they make at Brewsters, the berries floating in it freaks me out too

Both teams have pretty good goaltending situations though. How's this for a thought... MIller to Vancouver. It's pretty close the California and in the same time zone and all that and they happen to have a gap at the goaltending position.

Some new players and where you guys think they might fit in 2014

to be fair though we've said that every year since the beginning of time. -
Sid probably has more natural talent than Gretzky but Wayne had monsters flanking him and had a credit card to avoid regular abuse - even in playoffs. Sidney doesn't have that luxury - more the fault of guys like Shero & Byylesma, probably explains why both guys will be gone from the Pens organization by mid-June. Don't say stupid **** Nate.

I am generally not a fan of beers with the fruity flavours but I ended up trying a few different ones that were not over the top with their fruit flavours and weren't too bad, I wish I could remember what they were called though.
