  1. It's obviously a combination of things for our disaterous season. Appropriate blame can be evenly distributed among the many levels of the organization, top to bottom, bottom to top for different reasons but ultimately sharing the same outcome. But to have some fun, simply moving Calgary's entire management/coaching staff over to us, I still don't know if that would have got us into this year's post season with our existing starting and practice roster. I think it absolutely would have had this team into the post season. Not like the other eastern teams have been world beaters. Look at the improvements this offense has made with swapping offensive coordinators, and it's not like Bellefeuile is a great OC or anything. Put a good coaching staff like Calgary has on this team from day 1 and I have no doubts there are a playoff team because good coaches make players better and bad coaches make players look worse than they are.
  2. He is my thoughts on Denmark this year - He either didn't fully understand, or buy into whatever offensive system Crowton started us with. It showed, and perhaps that lack of understanding/buy-in hurt him more than just not performing well within the system (he didn't get what he was really supposed to be doing / didn't think it made sense and that resulted in not going at 100% of his full effort) Once we got MB as our OC Denmark made a pretty marked turn around in his play. I doubt it is coaching affecting Denmark as much as I think it is having a system he understands and believes will work. so systems aren't part of coaching?
  3. I think Etienne is on the list because he's disappeared from the field in place of Drops Foster.
  4. also curious just go look at the people who were already in Burkes doghouse. Guy is not shy about holding his grudges.
  5. if not for the last couple weeks Denmark was the prime example of a guy who was destroyed by these coaches. Remember how in his rookie year he was seen as the next best rookie behind Chris Williams? And how this year everyone was ready to cut the guy cause he just wasn't getting it done?
  6. you're crazy.
  7. Those are the people who just blindly parrot what they read in the newspapers and since the papers are all so keen to bash Mack and shelter Burke (presumably because they like Burkes lack of ability to filter his comments to the media) But keeping Burke on would be a disaster no matter how you slice it because this team will never win with Tim Burke as head coach and losing teams don't fill the stadium.
  8. There is no way they can be stupid enough to retain Burke, absolutely no way.
  9. The highlight of the weekend will be taking this bomber team out back and putting them out of their misery.
  10. not this **** again.... You wanna throw accusations like that out there let's have some proof, otherwise we can just assume that Walters got that job cause he was a good choice for it. The fact that Miller is adamant that he wants to keep Walters around no matter the role should be an indication that he's a good option for it.
  11. Well that'd be awfully ironic lol touche.. but burkes only been a hc for how long? mistakes are to be expected unfortunately.. such an apologist... These aren't just rookie mistakes, this is a serious flaw in the attitude of a head coach.Burke has been in charge for over a year and a half! how long does the "he's just knew" excuse fly? No at this point we know exactly what kind of head coach Burke is and he's not a very good one. Can't get his players motivated, has no idea how to manage a game or a roster. Fire him immediately after the game ends and then this team can focus on moving forward.
  12. I dunno everything from Miller in that piece seems to indicate to me that Miller prefers some one other than Walters for the GM role. Lawless is just spinning his own opinions as facts here which is nothing new.
  13. burke wants to sit players who don't put in the effort that's fine, but there's no need to drive the bus over them... but then again the only thing burke seems able to do as a coach is toss players under the bus. He has to go cause you can't have a coach that willing to absolutely bury players.
  14. yeah honestly Boltus getting the start might have been a good thing. Might have finally made them realize that he's not worth keeping around.
  15. Yeah Durant is a talented qb, but man is he a princess when it comes to his coaches. Without his grandpa Miller around he just doesn't seem to give a **** what any coach wants him to do. Doug Berry offense he threw for like 5500 yards and ran for another 500 but still Berry had to be run out of town, makes no sense to me.
  16. You fire the GM and things just head right into the tank...
  17. well that's debatable, there were a few years there when I don't think he was too out of place as the teams #1.
  18. Edwards is still that good veteran presence that everyone is all up in arms about the Bombers not having enough of. Maybe he's not the #1 receiver anymore but to me he's still got a role here.
  19. This is exactly it, they've been spending a ton on the coaches and GMs lately, just that they've been paying multiple people while only one does the job. It doesn't save any money to cheap out on hirings. Hire the best people and pay them what it takes and you'll make more money in the long run.
  20. you can have both no need to choose.
  21. Exactly, yeah the offense improved lately with Bellefeuile, but so what? We have an opportunity here to clean house and get the absolute best people possible, don't squander that because well he's here already... And all I'm saying is not to automatically dismiss Bellefeuille just because he's here. He may be the best coach available in certain areas. Craig Dickenson may just be the best special teams coach in the CFL. By your logic we should get rid of him, just so we can ''clean house'. That's faulty logic in my opinion. yeah and Dickenson is the one guy I've said I want to keep, here's the difference, Dickenson is widely regarded as one of the best ST coaches in the league where as Bellefeuille has never been regarded as one of the best offensive coordinators, not even close. The worst thing that this team can do is stand pat cause there were some late season improvements. We did that last year and look how that worked.
  22. Exactly, yeah the offense improved lately with Bellefeuile, but so what? We have an opportunity here to clean house and get the absolute best people possible, don't squander that because well he's here already...
  23. of course you wouldn't, you'd support anything the Bombers did. MB is known around the CFL and I want to aim higher than a guy who peaked at mediocre.
  24. the guy has had poor offenses in his past stops, just because there's been little improvements the last couple weeks does not mean he's an offensive genius, just that there was a real low bar to step over. Let's set our sights higher than this guy.
