  1. I said in the offseason and it's still valid if you ask me, as long as I see a team that battles all game long and never gives up it's a step in the right direction. Got so tired last year of seeing the team face the slightest bit of adversity and just roll over and die. Give me a reason to watch the whole game.
  2. I agree with this. Still too much to learn on the new guys, Brohm and Marve. All's i know is this group is oodles better than the QBacking crew we had around last year. we say that every year. there's still a lot to be proven before we get too excited. I think the big difference is that this year they'll be getting better coaching which should make everyone look better. No, I'm not getting excited….just stating a fact. A highly subjective fact... The gong show that was our coaching staff last year made a hell of a lot of players look a hell of a lot worse than they were. Every preseason we get amped up about the qbs preseason performances, I need to see it translate into the regular season before making sweeping statements about the quality from one year to the next.

  4. have we seen enough of Nichols to make a claim like that? I dunno that we have because of the aforementioned injuries.
  5. Exactly. We all thought Stubler was coming here & everyone was excited. Then when that didn't happen, we get Etcheverry. And everything that comes with the guy. Thud!! it's not even that Stubler didn't come here. It's just that Etch is a known commodity and I didn't like his defenses in previous stops so I didn't want him here. I'd have rather given an unknown a shot than go with a guy who I know I don't like.
  6. don't hold your breath. The mad scientist cares nothing for run defence.
  7. It's not that I want Etch fired... it's that I wish he was never hired in the first place.
  8. I think it's more a case of the system they've used is one that makes life hard on linebackers.
  9. you'd be hard pressed to call that capitalism though. More like government supported monopolies.
  10. The problem with the rider fan base in general is that they're mostly band wagon jumpers at this point. TSN started jerking off the die hards and all of a sudden everyone from that god forsaken province jumped on the bandwagon and started pretending to be super fans. It sickens me. For what it's worth Bomber fans are a better fan base than rider fans are, we've put up with so much **** and still turn out big crowds, give the riders that kind of **** show and watch them start holding telethons to fund raise for the team again.
  11. ZOMG teh Riderz are soooooooooooooo awesome111!!!!! Best team ever!!11!!! Why are we so blessed?!?! there now you don't need to go to rider fans I just summed up the entire place.
  12. I agree with you, I see it being Willy, Hall and Brohm to start the season with Marve being the development guy. Now as the season goes on it might change depending on what happens but to start I don't expect the depth chart to really change.
  13. are the most out of touch people on the planet. They really don't seem to know anything other than it's not fair that some people have more than they do so **** those people.
  14. *Rubs Eyes* Did you actually admit that you were wrong??? I never thought that I would live to see this day !! I think if Hall does play in the regular season he will get hurt in each game (like he did last year) and eventually he will disappear. no I said that live and film looked different. Willy looked worse on film too. I think it has a lot to do with the narrow scope the camera gives. Brohm was still the worst of the bunch in my estimation, just not quite as useless as he looked live.
  15. That's because the Bombers always get raped in Calgary.
  16. I think it's even less about cyclists not following the rules of the road so much as they are aggressive when they have right of way not taking into consideration that they are so much more vulnerable than a car. Doesn't much matter who had right of way if you get hit by a car, the guy on the bike is going to take the worst of it. Need to be more cautious just because on a bike you have more ability to stop and change direction. It's like anything else you do in traffic, pay attention and use your head and you are more likely to avoid problems
  17. you guys worry too much, this was never in question.
  18. I re-watched the game and Brohm did look better on film but I don't really forsee them cutting any qbs, they'll keep a 4th around and see how the season progresses. I dunno that they see Hall as a long term option but he's going to start the year backing up Willy. If they have to start going down the depth chart though who knows how things change.
  19. people should listen to me, I don't make **** up. Hall wasn't bad in that game apart from a few throws, the receivers let him down a hell of a lot.
  20. Hope you're right. Lots of bitching by players. The tweet by Iannuzzi took the cake today. There are a lot of players who like to speak before thinking, I wouldn't worry what they say.
  21. I don't think that's the case at all, I think the guy really just cared about how good of an athlete a guy was and nothing else really mattered. If a guy is big and strong and fast Mack was a fan and expected the coaches to turn them into players. Went for more than just draft picks too. I'd agree with that. A little of the Al Davis School of Drafting. For what it's worth Ty Pencer ran a 4.62 40 while a Sr. in high school which did a lot in the way of getting him that scholarship to Washington State. He was originally recruited as a DT and flipped to OT during his redshirt year. As a redshirt-freshman he was made starter at LT halfway through the season. The Cougars had two Canadians starting on their OL at one point with Joe Eppele starting at RT. was Kris Robertson another guy who got on the radar because he tested really well at the combine? Seems to me he had some good measurables but the memory is a bit foggy on it.
  22. They're putting dedicated year round bike lanes in Calgary. They wanted to put one on 1 St SE going south out of the downtown to MacLeod Trail. Anyone who knows Calgary knows that was a stupidly insane plan because of the traffic volume coming out of the downtown during evening rush hour. City council voted to not allow it for that portion of the road. But there will be dedicated bike lanes downtown. How that'll work in the winter remains to be seen. there's some dumb bikers in calgary too, I almost creamed on downtown a few weeks ago because he decided to cut in front of me from my left just as I was accelerating after having to stop to let a car turn off the street. Honestly I see it being a real clusterfuck down town, drivers can barely manage to drive properly with cars and pedestrians now you're going to throw bikes into the mix?
  23. oh you poor sheltered winnipeggers who think you actually have busy roads...
  24. I don't think that's the case at all, I think the guy really just cared about how good of an athlete a guy was and nothing else really mattered. If a guy is big and strong and fast Mack was a fan and expected the coaches to turn them into players. Went for more than just draft picks too.
  25. They won't vote against it. If the CFLPA tells them to ratify it they will ratify it otherwise why do they even have the PA representing them in the first place? Quit worrying about nothing.
