  1. Can we just mail in the 2 points every week and call the season done now? Getting hard to find reasons to care...
  2. 8 teams in the CFL want Hall. I would suggest that his reluctance to sign is more to do with wanting another shot at the NFL than anything else.
  3. term limits can be good and bad though, could force a really good person out just because their term is up. The biggest key is to have the right people on the board. Or if you have the right CEO then no one talks about the board either. We never talked about the board when Lyle Bauer was here cause there was no question who was in charge of the team, but after the disaster that was MIke Kelly it seems they've been in the spot light a lot more, especially with the sillyness surrounding the stadium... I would suspect that if they leave Miller in the CEO job that we'll wind up talking less and less about the board because there will actually be someone very clearly who is the man in charge.
  4. "just don't do what I do and you'll be fine"
  5. well he can just skim some money from Manitoba Hydro or raise taxes, that'll fix everything wrong with the Bombers.
  6. it's what teams do to us immediately after we concuss their QB. hell... Buck did it. That's Bucks secret, he's always concussed.
  7. Would have loved to see the appeal get ruled on just to see if the first judge was just clueless or what.
  8. it's not ALL on Hall, yeah it was a terrible pass that he never should have made but Dubnyk played it like an *******. Way too far to the middle of the ice. He's in proper position no way a shot like that goes in from the spot Trouba shot it. Eakins is going to be beating a lot of the Oilers for some of the **** they did in that game, but they still outshot and over all outplayed the Jets, just that when they needed saves Pavelec gave em to Winnipeg and Dubnyk didn't do the same for Edmonton.
  9. Fans electing board members? Nononononononononononononononononono! Fans are ******* and should have absolutely no say in that kind of thing.
  10. Doctors can only make a determination if players are thruthful with them though. If the doctors say he's fine Edmonton won't hesitate to play him cause they got nothing else, but this all comes down to whether when Reilly says he's fine he is actually fine. Wouldn't be the first player to downplay how bad he's feeling in order to get back onto the field.
  11. I watched that TD throw that Reilly made on the next play, he just kind of threw it up and let Chambers catch it, then he stumbled around wondering what sideline to go to. He was completely gone, his eyes were totally unfocussed. I just can't understand what they are doing in Edmonton. They got no one else to go in, it's Reilly or jospeh and a concussed Reilly is probably still a more dangerous player than Joseph.
  12. They thought they had the right guy at the top last time....how did that work out? yeah not well so get it right this time.
  13. isn't it obvious? He didn't earn playing time in practise.
  14. It's really simple, hire the right guy at GM and everything will fall into place cause the right choice at GM leads to the right choice at HC which leads to the right choices at coordinator and so on. Get the right man at the top and it'll all work out.
  15. Not the Jets fans I've seen, prior to the season starting I saw too many Jets fans seriously debating whether Trouba or Scheiffele were going to be the best rookie in the NHL. Don't read too much into what happened last night, Dubnyk had a big time meltdown last night and let in some real softies. The oilers had 38 shots and scored 4 goals while missing their two best centres and playing the first game for a new head coach with a new system. There were some good performances from some of the Jets last night but it was what it was. It was a first game of the season and there was a lot of sloppy plays on either side. Not worth reading too much in just yet. Need to see more to really get a handle on what is going to happen, for both teams in that game.
  16. It's not lucky that Hall wasn't pasted, Hall is a lot more aware on the ice than people give him credit for, he saw the hit coming and avoided it. Let's be honest though, as good as Trouba looked the Jets 4th goal had absolutely no business going in, that was a brutal goal for Dubnyk to give up. The more impressive guy to me was Scheiffele. He and Kane were a real good duo out there. Made Arcobello look like the AHLer he is until the Oilers wisely got him away from that matchup.
  17. coaching matters to quarterbacking, it's a natural progression for the discussion.
  18. There were a bunch of Tamans guys there too but overall I don't think we're any less talented on defense today than we were in 2011, the coaches aren't getting as much out of them as they did back then though. Unless you think it was Hefney Hunt and WIllis that made that D... I think they were part of it but Mack replaced Hunt with a pretty good DE in Hall as well and Willis has his limitations as a player and I think we have adequate replacements for them too. Hefneys game fell off and not like we are lacking in talent at DB, again to me that's a situation where guys are not being put in situations to maximize their talents. Lapo was a guy who coached not to lose, he got a lot more out of players than Burke has but that's a pretty low bar to climb over. Neither one of the coaches that Mack hired were good enough and to me that was the biggest flaw. And I'm not a Dickenson or bust guy here either, I'd love to see him come in here cause I think if anyone can sort of the quarterback and offensive issues on this team he's the guy who can do it, but bottom line I just want to see them turn over every stone and find the right guy who ever it is and pay them what it takes to get them here.
  19. well Marshall for one was passed over for a ton of jobs before he ever got the head gig, Burke was passed over a bit before getting a job too. No one passed over the guys who did go on to be successful. I'd be skeptical of using Burke and Lapo getting head gigs from a guy who was fired primarily because he sucked the big one at hiring head coaches is much of an endorsement.
  20. The naked man, works 2 out of 3 times.
  21. well I would hope that after the last few years they'd have learned that cheaping out on head coaches can wind up costing you more in the long run.
  22. Really? Coaching doesn't matter? Reilly had two years in BC. Collaros has Milanovich, Maas, Brady and Ray who all played in the CFL at QB. You think that doesn't make a difference in terms of developing a QB? 2 of our offensive coaches are in their first CFL job as a coach or player, the other 2 are Howell and Bellefeuille, essentially a rookie and a coach with a so-so record as both an OC and head coach, and no track record of developing quarterbacks, other than failed ones. Mostly leaned on scrapped vets like Marcus Crandell and Kevin Glenn. Makes a really great case for Dickenson for HC, with a Jason Maas type at OC or at least QB coach, wouldn't it? If the Bombers are serious about finally developing a winning calibre QB... this line of thinking would be a really refreshing change of course for the WBB. Depends on how serious the WBB decide they want to be about developing both a winning culture, and one in which a QB prospect can thrive. Dickenson as head coach, Khari Jones as OC, please please please please please
  23. Stamps are playing the Bombers gotta go with Cornish.
  24. Yeah I don't think there's a person out there who would say it was absolutely wrong to pull Hall, but leaving Boltus in when he was obviously not ready to be in there... yikes that's just going to be bad for everything. Can we honestly trust Boltus to go in again if we need him? All this dicking around Burke is doing at the position is reminiscent of Mike Kelly. Keep churning through new guys in hopes someone finds some magic. Hall and Goltz have been here the entire year (Goltz for a few years now) they should be the only two qbs they even think of playing at this point because they're the only ones who have a realistic chance of not totally embarassing themselves.
