well considering that Denmark was so good as a rookie but then took a step backwards, and apparently Mtthews is doing the same is it fair to say that our offensive coaches are so bad that players are actually regressing under them?

and even recently Lawless was spouting off on the radio about how he'd trade MAtthews for BLM right? Which is an obvious call back to the offseason talk that the stamps wanted Matthews for Glenn.

here's my question, were they told exactly why before or after the media talked to them? Cause that makes a huge difference. If it's just damage control afterwards that's terrible.

Unless they actually hire their new GM right away it just leaves the team rudderless for the rest of the year. It's not going to fix things right now, you're just going to have a harder time making changes during the season because you lost a very connected guy in the football world who always did seem to bring in some quality players midseason. There was no harm to be done sticking with Mack until the offseason. He wasn't going to go crazy and throw picks and players away on magic beans and leave a smoking crater like Kelly did so might as well have just waited until the offseason.

Kelly was actively destroying the team and it's roster but even he wasn't as clueless at head coach as Burke appears to be. Burke is so much more likable as a head coach but god damn if he isn't Jim Daley levels of bad at it.

If they win nothing changes. Beating Hamilton is something that they could have done with Goltz behind centre and Mack still in the GM chair. And if they lose then that's basically the season right there.

well with regards to the qb I think he was well within his rights to tell them to start someone other than Pierce. He knew he couldn't fire another coach so his options were limited.

hated it when he said it, hate it after processing it, terrible attitude from a head coach. Yes Tim it IS your job to decide who the starter is. If you want to listen to your co-ordinators that's fine but ultimately it is your job.

cause next season we get a new GM and new head coach and likely a hell of a lot of new faces, chances of a totally new bunch having immediate success is slim to none. GIven the drama around the team right now can't expect anything to get turned around this year, so no playoffs this year. That's a year and a half. Always happens when you fire people midseason. you waste the rest of the current season and the next one.

well of course it would be miller who called him, he signs the cheques right now. The likely situation was they were talking about the possibility of bringing Bellefool in and only just made the move now.

and that's fine. The problem was what he also said, about thinking Goltz had been better than pierce yet pierce still gets a promotion.

If Crowton feels that Hall is the guy to run his offense then I'm all in for giving him a chance, but to dump Goltz all the way down to third string behind PIerce... yikes. Even on the coaches show Burke basically says he thought Goltz was better than Pierce. Just makes no sense how things are being run there. GOng show of epic proportions.

well what does it matter? Burke isn't long for this team and likely not Creehan either. The end of the season is shaping up to be a disaster so let's blow it up good. I'm just tired of Burkes clueless handling of the team.

If Mack really was the biggest Pierce booster then why was Pierce 3rd string until Mack was fired and now all of a sudden up to #2? I'd buy Goltz being Macks guy but not Pierce based on every single thing I've seen and heard from the bombers.

yeah but Burke hasn't ever sounded down. He's always seemed to try and find positives. The problem is that he has shown absolutely no ability to turn things around. Many of his games last season were a disaster, the start to this season has been a disaster. He's said and done some painfully bad things. Some guys are good coordinators but don't have what it takes to be the head guy, Burke appears to be one of these. It's been one mistake after the other with that guy. At best he is just absolutely not ready to be a head coach.

well it does matter because Glenn never would have been floated out there until the offseason. Remember when Pierce was first raving about PIerce (Crowton too) Glenn was the starting qb for the stamps who then took his team to the grey cup game. Lawless is a POS and has been smearing Mack every chance he gets, this just reeks of more of that.

but the Burke love for PIerce started before the offseason even hit and the bombers even talked about where they were going with the qb position. Burke was waiting with baited breathe to get Pierce healthy last season, I just don't accept that he was full of **** when he talked about how much he liked Pierce because he's come across as a very straight shooter thus far.

well the thing is that if the bombers made the playoffs the first match would be one of hamilton or montreal or maybe even edmonton, all those other bad teams. But the way things have gone in the last week the Bombers threw in the towel on the season prematurely.

I would have agreed there were worse teams before all this **** hit the fan... but now it appears that no one has a bloody clue what they're doing and the players will soon start to show that on the field.
