Ugh Bob Irving why do you have to put that clown Carm Carteri on CJOB? You're better than that.
-
I'm not even talking about that, just a guy who obviously had a great understanding of the game and a knack for making a play when it was needed. Sort of a go to guy for the team. I dunno just seems like they don't have that crutch or something, among other problems.

quiet, let us all dream of a triumphant return to Winnipeg to lead the Bombers out of the wilderness and to glory.
-
oh sure there's lots of veterans, but there's no one with the cred that SImon has. I'm not saying it's all that, just that it seems like maybe they're missing some of what he brought.
-
Ray had the shits of an o-line in Edmonton and did OK too you know. True & he's been banged up more than once on that same shoulder. He separated &/or dislocated his throwing shoulder a couple of years back as I recall. yeah he's taken a real beating especially in those last few years in Edmonton, not really unlike what happened to Khari Jones.
-
Starts & ends with their offensive line just like us. Difference being they have a lot more talent than the Bombers at the skill positions on offense & a much better linebacking & secondary than we do. I was wondering if they don't miss that veteran presence that Geroy brought regardless of him slowing down in ability.

I might be remembering wrong but it seems to me that when that trade happened there was a lot of "Ray was on the block?" sentiment going around the CFL at the time so it seems unlikely that Tillman would have been shopping him around to everyone, the CFL can't keep secrets like that.
-
something is missing from the BC offense for sure.
-
Anything to get Khari back in Winnipeg and out of that green hell hole he's in now. Some things just ain't right.
-
We have nothing to lose, except that we might keep on losing. I don't think people have anything against Walters per se, they just want to the Bombers to hire someone with a proven track record. That's pretty much my line of thought, nothing against Walters but would rather get someone with more experience at this juncture. Keep Walters as an AGM by all means but for now let's make the safe play.
-
I'm not saying the results say anything else, where we disagree is whether the piling on is totally justified. Gotta admit that it's a distinct possibility that people like Burke are trying to save their jobs and guys like Walters will be campaigning for jobs right? Also might help get more fans back on board if they have a nice scapegoat for everything right? Ultimately why things got this way don't matter, done is done what matters now is getting it right going forward. That we at least agree on.

The o line is horrible. We have two serviceable OL and the other 3 are the worst at their position in the league. Which team would take Sorensen, Morley, Swiston, Boatman, or Douglas as starters? Not one. Meanwhile...recent draft picks are doing well on OL's across the league. Just watched the highlights from last night. B.C. OL absolutely bulled people out of the way on that Lulay TD run. Lulay has been under a lot of pressure at times this year too though. Just look at their loss to Montreal, he was running for his life the whole time.

This is why I'm a little bit skeptical of it. Burke has started talking completely differently than he did before Mack was fired in terms of what he wanted etc. I think Burke is trying to deflect some blame off himself and maybe Miller and Walters are doing some scapegoating as well. It's human nature. At this point there may be some truths in all this but there's probably a lot of exaggerations as well.

Except for the fact that our d was dominant in 2011 and would have won the grey cup if offence had a pulse. 2012 we could have been a contender if we had burris leading our offence with Burris throwing for 5000 + and our defense playing at a lower level but keeping it within a touchdown or two with Elliot and brink in there. Your inability to logically look at our teams issues is unfathomable . If we had Burris last year or the year before we would have won a CUP or at least being fighting into the playoffs vs missing them. We would have won the majority of games with the offence scoring more then 30 points per game last year. but in 2011 these guys weren't on the table. I'm telling you, Burris is not a winner and never has been. There's a reason Calgary tossed him aside. Too many choke jobs. He is the ultimate fair weather qb. puts up big stats but when the going gets tough he wilts.
-
It may well have been...but any good negotiator doesn't take the first offer...Barker clearly didn't. The Ricky Ray rumour was already floating around when Kelly was here. No one believed it...but eventually it happened. well Ray a Ray deal starting with Doug Brown and adding from there is a damned bit more believable than what Toronto gave up to get him. That could have at least made sense because it would have been a huge payment.
-
Now When you consider what Barker has said about the Ray acquisition it seems far less simple than simply Tillman shopping him around. As for Burris, I don't consider that a big miss at all, For all the numbers Burris has put up he hasn't done a damned bit of winning in Hamilton and his one Grey Cup win in Calgary looks to be more and more a fluke when you consider all the choking he's done. He's a glorified Kevin Glenn with a worse attitude. The Ray thing needs more info to be properly discussed, for all we know the price was first rounds picks in perpetuity.

well that might be going a little far...I know this: He was not a "student athlete" in college. Dude was there on intellectual merit, and was there to get a degree. Just also happened to be good at football. and I'm not denying that he's a smart dude but to flat out state the single most intelligent qb in Bomber history?
-
How is he going to get them the ball when he is flat on his back? Our O-line is a sieve. Because Goltz unlike the other qbs can buy himself some time with his legs
-
it's 110 from Virden to border. Will be 110 the rest of the way once the shoulders are paved. well let's just say that last time I was on that road it's a good thing there were no cops around cause I was not taking my time getting back to Calgary. raising the speed limit really just lowers potential fines.
-
But Manitoba being the fools they are have the speed limit at 100 for some reason while Sask and Alberta have it at 110, it's insanity I tell ya.
-
Who Goltz really needs help from is his receivers. I want to see guys haul in some passes for him that are tough catches. Too often even the routine catches for our team has been an adventure. You see guys making great catches for young qbs all over the league, our receivers need to do that for our young qbs too. That'll do as much as anything to help them.
-
no doubt there's some crazy people on the roads, especially the trans canada.

This is all you need to know. There is a bread crumb trail of deceit on the part of the TiCats, first not offering him the 1+1 that must be offered to all rookies, then the sketchy letter about the option year, for any court, this is a slam dunk. Neither the arbitrator nor the court found that they hadn't offered him the 1+1, the difference of opinion between arbitration and the court is whether or not the ticats properly communicated their picking up the option year. This is an argument over the wording of that option being picked up and little more at this point I would say.
-
he did not, which is where the issues all started. If he's signed a 1+1 then he woulda been a free agent this year and none of this would have started.
