All this being made about the leak.. I'd be shocked if the board didn't already know full well who it was that was the leak and slapped their wrists already.

yes I think it is better. I think the middle of the depth is better as well. That'd be the 6th and 7th type starters. It's really just the top end guys in my mind that are not as good.

overall depth is better for the NIs. We don't have a Doug Brown or Brendan Labatte right now who are at the top of the pedestal but the bottom part of the NI equation is so much better than it used to be it's not even funny.

so much this. transit in calgary is fine if you're going to or from downtown, but if you're going anywhere else via transit it's brutal. It's a city built around driving, but there's really a problem with having a few major roads that you almost have to take to get anywhere and at rush hour it can become total insanity. Granted I live on the south edge of the city, but I've spent over an hour driving across the city just because of the volume of traffic. Calgary is just such a massive city compared to Winnipeg, not so much population, but the area it occupies. If you're going from one end of the city to the other it's a long way to go.

but the team was so lacking in NIs in many many places you can't say that they shoulda only drafted OL. I mean they need linebackers with that being a NI position, they need DBs with safety being a NI position, they always seem to want some NI DL. Given that they use 2 americans on the OL I don't know that the amount of OL they have taken is the real issue.

Just focus on getting the right GM and tell them they're free to bring in whoever they want at HC and that will take care of itself.

no it's clearly impatience. Lyle Bauer was the worst for it. Fired Dave Ritchie at the first sign of trouble. If he's been patient with him I have no doubts the team wouldn't have fallen into the tank like it did after he left. Then after they corrected that mistake Berry was fired the first sign of trouble despite starting to build depth and improve the team and we got Mike Kelly and his do whatever it takes to win right now mandate. Lack of patience has led to a whole host of bad decisions.

which all comes down to the timing. Don't go days in advance, do it at the meeting. I get that it's the board that really screwed the pooch, but that doens't excuse buchko. Basically I don't want Buchko to hire a new GM and then wind up getting fired himself because opinions of his job so far are not good and then we get a new CEO who inherits a GM he didn't hire in the first place. Let's clean everything out now and start fresh while we have the chance.

listen to Bob Irvings thoughts on the subject, he outlines it quite well. As in, if you're going to fire Joe Mack, bloody fire Joe Mack, don't expect the BoD to keep things quiet for nearly a week when you know they talk to the media a lot. No one said a word to Mack about this according to Irving as well. That all falls at the feet of Buchko and he should be fired on the spot for such an unprofessional display.

you know what they should do? totally clean house. Fire buchko as well and then hire a new CEO and let that CEO hire his own GM and then let that GM hire is HC. That way we end this bloody cycle of people inheriting people they didn't hire. If you're going to clean house then burn the thing to the ground and start from step one.

There is no way they can keep Mack now. Now that this is all in the open you have to just step up and go through with it. How can you expect a GM to do his job when he knows that the CEO wants to fire him?

here's the other thing that bugs me about the timing, we have 3 more games against hamilton who are a bit of a clusterfuck themselves, 2 games against Edmonton who are a clusterfuck themselves, another game against Montreal who are a clusterfuck, why not give them the rest of the year and see how it goes? Looking at that number of games and how teams have played can we really say that if the bombers made the playoffs they'd be written off playing one of those other 3 teams in the playoffs? And if you win a game there then you're one fluke away from playing for the grey cup. Just a terrible time to fire someone and then to completely botch the firing process like this.... can we resurrect Cal Murphy and hire him to run the team entirely?
