Kohlert and Etienne have made as many plays as guys like Doug PIerce or Clarence Denmark have this year and Watson next to Edwards is probably the best receiver on the team anyway so I see no problems using 3 NI receivers.

I'm not going to disagree with your overall sentiments, but is this because they didn't have faith in the kicker or because they (in Lapos case moreso, it's pretty clear Burke didn't like Palardy) had so much faith in the defense that they preferred to try and pin teams deep?

SIgning Boatman at the time the Bombers did was a fine move, they had injuries, they needed bodies, keeping him in the lineup though... my god why?

don't feed the trolls.

move quickly and pick up deangelis! then you can still curse the stupid players on your team.

I think you are guilty of remember Hefney from 2 or 3 or 4 years ago moreso than last year. Hefney used to be real damned good but last year cracks appeared in his game. I have no problems saying Washington has been as good this year as Hefney was last year. You are of course correct that Hall is getting off easy and should have had his ass stapled to the bench for at least part of the game but that's neither here nor there when talking about Hefney. Bottom line Washington was taking his spot at halfback, Hefney could have stayed here by switching to SAM but he didn't want to and as a result he was cut.

and it's a pass that Buck Pierce has been throwing right to the DBs are whole lot in the last 2 seasons.

meh this team asks receivers to block a lot when they are not suited to it. There is a lot of misusing players going on. It goes back to the lack of identity this team has. They've been trying to run things that they aren't suited for rather than tailoring things to what they actually do well for a long time now. Running plays like Montreal does works great when you have Richardson and Green as your slotbacks, not so much when it's Edwards and Denmark.Perhaps but I thought it was pretty common depending on the play. yeah if you're not catching a pass you should be blocking but there's some guys, like Cory Watson who you can realistically ask to block close to the LOS regularly and then there's guys like Edwards and Denmark who don't excel at that. Too many guys like that on this team so the choices are either get the kind of player who can do it, or change the offense so it's not a requirement that they have to do it all the time.

No but it is his job to get the players ready to play and put them in positions to succeed. Do you see any of that happening?

He's underseige all the time because he does nothing to make the other team stop blitzing. Hit a few big plays on em and they'll stop sending the house. Now do we have guys in the right place to take advantage of that? You gotta think that all those professional coaches we have recognize what's going on and put guys in positions to counter it right? right?
-
How long has he been saying that if guys don't perform they'll be gone? How many non injury related moves has he made? Time to stop saying that and actually doing something about it. No wonder the team isn't listening, they know there's no consequences and it's just a lot of hot air.

No tell me

the media in this town seems to only like good guys. Can't be hard on buck he's a good guy, can't be hard on burke, he's a good guy. Joe Mack though? What an ass, rip him to pieces even after he's been fired. Taman was a good guy... don't remember them being nice to him... Oh, and Mack sucks. are you kidding? the media loved Taman cause he told them everything.

Every offence in pro football involves receivers and QB's making reads...most high school offences do too. If the corner takes a 10 yard drop into his zone, why would the #1 receiver run a 10 yard hook, even if that's the call? The whole game is about reading and adjusting. I understand this. What it sounded like was that Crowton was trying to scheme for every possible defence... this must have involved multiple reads/options as opposed to two or three, just a thought... what other excuse do we have for receivers 'running the wrong routes'...? Everyone all of a sudden can't play football? honestly having receivers and qbs both make reads isn't a bad idea, I just think that with too many rookie qbs and a lot of inexperience at receivers it was probably too much for the group of people there. With a well established qb and a real veteran group of receivers that's been around for a long time it might have worked well. Khari and MIlt always said one of the reasons they worked so well together is that they saw the same things in a defense and made the adjustment. I don't see this team able to do that.

Oh Troy why do you even try?
-
I heard that and started wondering... if they sign Prechea Rodqiguez I will LOL
-
You remember back in 07 when teams started to only rush 2 guys because Glenn knew where to go before the snap and got the ball there before anyone could touch him? Compare that to how PIerce plays.
-
Agreed in hindsight maybe Burke should have been the first to go but its a bit late now. The problem is that no GM gets to fire 2 head coaches within a year, that's a terrible indictment of their ability to put a head man in place. Now that they hit the nuke button though finish the job, clear out all the trash.
-
and people think we should keep Burke for the rest of the season...
-
Like Matthews last year? Or Denmark in his rookie year? I don't think this is a lack of talent, this is a lack of putting talent in positions to succeed. JBR is right, this team is the easiest to defend that I have ever seen. Blitz and you stop the offense. Doesn't even have to be disguised, the qbs can't make plays against it.
-
but a bad coaching choice makes everything look worse.
-
considering how similar it looks to what Hamilton did last year it's Creehans scheme. Remember when the bombers played man coverage? Now all we're doing it seems is playing the softest zone in football.
-
you can tell he knows it by all the excuse making he's done since Mack was fired. The whole "crowton is picking qbs" to "doing the best with that I have" and all the rest. He's a dead man walking desperately trying to save his own hide while the team crumbles around him. How long until the players give up completely if they haven't already? How ugly is THAT going to be? Wait, you think they haven't? well it's sort of a scary thought, but what if they haven't?
