Ugh giving up the first round pick outright is too high a price to pay for a FA qb.
-
you have said many many times that "we can't say about this or that, only people who actually know can comment"
-
I've never ever showcased this mentality via this statement...not once. When there's proof to back up this kind of statement, then I make it, but I was very quick to call down Mike Kelly's insanity. Did you type this with a straight face?

Wow, have you lived a sheltered life. For every one bad Ti Cat poster there are 500 Priders on the internet throwing around ****. Sorry, but i will have to disagree iso. Yes, there are more douchey rider posters out there in total but that has to do with the sheer volume of their fanbase. I find the ratio of douchey/respectable posters to be much higher amongst Ticat fans vs. Rider fans. Ticat fans are driven by extreme fanboyism and arrogance which is surprising considering their terrible recent history (only1 cup in nearly 30 years). Onemoredork and a couple ticat fans who were banned from the other bomber sites come to mind. Rider fans are by far the douchiest if only because there are so many false fans. I know lots of people who call themselves diehard rider fans who know less about their team then everyone on this website. Too many bandwagon jumpers. At least the obnoxious ticat fans are actually fans.

And why wouldn't Miller hire a GM who has a similar way of thinking as himself anyway? It's not like he's going to go out and get a guy who is totally at odds with his ideas.
-
I would think making it to the Grey Cup changes things for Hamilton with regards to Burris. This is the most success that team has had in ages, how on earth do they move on from the qb who brought that to them? If they'd bowed out of the playoffs in the semi finals or even the finals then I could see them moving on but now? I dunno.

Calgary definitely played poorly. That many turnovers and missed tackles. The Riders may have won if Calgary had played a clean game but it would have been a lot closer without the mistakes from the Stamps.
-
I would rather see Hank play terribly but the riders self destruct and beat themselves, that would do so much more emotional damage to that "fan"base. Knowing that the game was there for the taking but they fumbled it away. That's my dream.

That's the saddest part of MIke Kellys time here, he could have been a head coach if he didn't have that massive massive ego. If he'd let someone else run a proper offense, if he hadn't been so stupid at GM he could have been a solid head coach because the players obviously played for him (something they didn't do for Burke no matter what the team says)
-
The most intriguing thing about khari jones as head coach is that we know from his time as a player that he's a leader and I think we really haven't had a head coach that is a real leader like that who can inspire players in a long time.
-
The stamps seemed to be missing a lot on their d-line, just could not stop sheets enough to give them a chance. Then when you get guys that keep fumbling the football it's not going to be a good day for you.
-
it's disgusting but I'm not sure it's enough to make me get over my massive hatred of Henry Burris and actually cheer for the ticats.... Wasted Grey Cup here.
-
But both Kent Austin and Scott Milanovich BOTH won the grey cup in their rookie year as a HC!!! I loled Sure lets keep doing what we always do. Hire a rookie GM & rookie HC for another rebuild. It's such a winning formula. You are missing the point. Rookie or veteran doesn't matter, it's whether they're a good coach or not that matters.
-
cause one year is always so make or break. My head is fine thanks but you might want to consult a proctologist.
-
The method Miller is proposing is basically the same one that was here when Lyle Bauer was in charge anyway, it's not a bad thing either, it's only bad if the managers make bad decisions so rather than worrying about who makes which decisions why not just worry about whether they'll make the right decisions.
-
he was also part of the Bombers coaching staff at one point and the hamilton one. Khari was in that same Hamilton one and is now in the riders and you can't really say they haven't been successful since he's been there. Right now you're just making up lame arguments that really don't hold much water.

Is anyone trying to ret-con Crowton into being anything but a giant bust?
-
True, but there is some accuracy there. No Chris Williams, no IWS, 1-4 out of the gate and people had them buried again. Dont even get much TSN love. Quick to pounce on games they choked and some furrowed brows when they do win. Even the usually optimistic Schultz said around LD HAM wasnt "even close " to having a team ready. It doesn't even matter if it's true or not, a team that believes that and has a point to prove is a dangerous opponent.
-
it's a dangerous thing.
-
you know what, I'm not going to be surprised to see the ticats win this one... They've done OK against Toronto this year and I just saw them on sportscentre pulling the "no one gave us a chance so **** you all we're going to go win this game" card.
-
I would think Crowtons deal expires this year anyway. Don't assistants usually get 2 year deals?
-
And Joe Paopao wasn't too good
-
Here's the ones I can think of: Dunigan Lancaster Milanovich Hufnagel Jackie Parker Trestman (a QB in college) Any others? Dunigan was a failure under bad circumstances and Lancaster was initially a disaster but became a Grey Cup winner in Hamilton. The others all have been pretty good, though Parker didn't win any Grey Cups as a coach. kent austin seems to have done ok for himself. Grey Cup in Saskatchewan and hamilton seems to be doing ok this year.
-
which would also happen to coincide with when Denmarks game started to fall off the map right?
-
Just for comparisons sake, Corey Chamblin didn't have a hell of a lot more coaching experience before he got the riders head job. 1 years as defensive coordinator and several as just a positional coach before that. Being a good coordinator really doesn't always translate into a head coach, there is a slightly different skill set required. I don't know if Khari has that skill set or not, but bottom line if they do hire him they better hire good people around him regardless of how good he is or isn't cause a rookie always needs a good supporting cast.
