  1. Yeah the oatmeal porter was a mill st. thing, was real good, I always pass over that stuff when I'm wandering through the liquor store, maybe I'll have to actually pick some up some time. Never seen Hop City but I will keep an eye out. There's a few well stocked beer coolers in a couple liquor stores nearby.
  2. I actually found the white owl to be lacking in that distinct rye flavour.
  3. yeah steamwhistle and mill st. show up in Calgary at least, fairly easy to come across as well. I know I tried Steamwhistle at beerfest one year and I am pretty sure I've tried mill st. stuff but can't quite place it. I wanna say some type of oatmeal porter? does that sound right?
  4. that funny taste is flavour.
  5. seriously football and beer just make the other so much better.
  6. one of my favourite beers: It's fantastic. Same company makes a damned good red as well.
  7. piss in a bottle.
  8. good man. excellent choices, though for me if it's one of those whites that has way too much of a citrus taste it's just unpleasant. the reds or ambers are definitely tops of my favourite list. I'll often pick up a case of Wild Rose Wred Wheat, it's the best of both worlds. Not sure how far outside Calgary they distribute but it's a solid choice.
  9. exactly, people have to stop pretending like he was a sure thing that the bombers cut. Not like Palardy has been inaccurate, he has a good kicking percentage himself. People are just obsessed with what they don't have.
  10. more than I care to admit
  11. Jokes man, jokes. Everyone has to look exactly like their avatar otherwise is just messes with my head.
  12. once again I just assumed MIke looked like the guy in his avatar...
  13. Everyone I know in the city who bought before 2005 was laughing about how much the value shot up, everyone who bought after curses not getting in before. Just an unreal price hike over that year.
  14. hey it's the Bombers and it's the CFL and there's whiskey to drink, that's always something to get excited for.
  15. until the world sees how awesome Max Hall is.....
  16. I think it's still too early for him to change anything really. Next week I suspect will show more.
  17. I was wondering the other day if maybe the reason Elliott looked good was that he would just ignore the play calls and do whatever he liked.... which would also explain why the coaches couldn't wait to get him out of town. It's such a tin foil hat thing but what if Crowton is just the shits of a play caller?
  18. well it's not like Palardy is an inaccurate kicker himself.
  19. you know what, there's something personal between Joe Mack and the media across the country, he took more heat from them than a simple "well he's no good as a GM" I would really like to know what it is. Is it cause he treated them with absolute disdain? Is it because he wasn't part of the old boys club that is the CFL? I really want to know why it seems to personal between the media and Joe Mack (and the Bombers by extension)
  20. it's equally silly to cut your bonafide #2s but we did that in the offseason too.
  21. with that attitude you should be banned from this site immediately.
  22. and do you support Pierce because of what he's shown this year or what he showed in 2011 (first half) and prior?
  23. oh there were definitely flat out drops, including at least 2 on second downs that would have extended drives in late stages of the games. There were some missed throws for sure, but the receivers put some on the turf that were very catchable. Both games Goltz started in fact I felt that the receivers didn't do enough to help a young qb. That doesn't mean they were dropping routine catches, but they never really made any of the highlight type catches that you see every week in the CFL either.
  24. This team won't get better until they move on from this outdated notion that Pierce gives them any kind of chance to win. He very nearly cost them the only win they had if not for the defense creating a turnover for themselves.
  25. and he also had some egregious drops in there that were well thrown. See I can just as easily turn around and say that I've never seen as many bad passes as when Pierce was under centre. Or are you forgetting just how bad he was in his games? Your attitude really sounds to me like you're too focussed on the last game and not the big picture. Let's keep in mind here the completion percentage for the two of them is 60.4% vs. 57.7% it's not some huge difference here.
