  1. Never listen to the riders radio station. Being the biggest homer going is their entire MO. Plus the guys just flat out aren't that good. Bob Irving is never allowed to retire, us bomber fans are so lucky to have that guy doing games for us. You don't realize it until you actually listen to the crap other teams have to put up with.
  2. The discussion won't end as long as the qb position is the way it is in Winnipeg. Yeah it's unlikely to see Glenn in Winnipeg with Tate on the injured list again, but the position for Winnipeg is such and Achilles heel it will always be a discussion until the position is stabilized.
  3. Tim Hortons is basically THE case study for effective marketing.
  4. let's say that they went ahead and borrowed the gameplan the bombers used to beat the argos last season when Simpson and Ford ran all over the Argos.
  5. No it's more than that... he can't run like he used to, he is slower both mentally and physically. Yeah the 48 yarder was exceptional, but pre-2012 Pierce could pick up a lot of yards with his legs and keep a defense guessing because of it. Without that aspect of his game PIerce is just a sitting duck. He's not and has never been a pocket passer, you take away the running dimension of his game and he's not nearly as effective.
  6. Montreals defense looked like **** until they started bringing everyone against Pierce, it was effective but I doubt it will be as effective against Calgary.
  7. the hype for the riders is always turned up to 11, this might actually cause the end of the universe as we know it.
  8. the defense is 1-1, the offense, led by Buck Pierce has twice pulled a disappearing act when the game was on the line and a good drive could win the game. Seriously, put together a decent drive in game one this team could be 2-0 but no, the offense pulled a 4th quarter disappearing act twice. The key was in week 2 they forced a turnover to win the game when the offense once again failed to stay on the field to run the clock down. With this defense I would say that Glenn would win more than pIerce would. You will never admit it, but Pierce is not the qb he once was and Glenn is nowhere near as bad as you make him out to be. Glenn is the very definition of average, and with the defense the bombers are fielding average is good enough to win. Pierce is nearly a liability at this point.
  9. Because Buck Pierce is no longer able to attain the lofty peak of mediocrity.
  10. I'd hold off on putting Calgary in that group just yet. Yeah they were damned good in week 1 but week 2, and specifically the 2nd half against the riders were as bad as anything in the CFL this year.
  11. and that right there is why a lot of people dislike glenn and I think it's a stupid reason. Guy is just even keeled, but so many fans want to see guys punching holes in the wall and screaming and all that cause that's what a lot of fans feel like doing with each loss.
  12. Denmark has been pretty involved the first couple games I think, wouldn't surprise me to see him have a good season... but I don't know who to pick as the leader... think it'll be spread out a fair bit.
  13. TV is out of order at work here (Boourns) so going by the comments here I can only assume that the new secondary for the argos still has plenty of holes in it eh.
  14. no Glenn doesn't use his legs, instead he makes quick throws to keep a defense honest. What makes him a better passer? well a quick look at the stats for each of them might provide some clues. For the ints Glenn throws, you can look at PIerce who's pretty good at chucking ints these days as well. Like I said, Pierce when he was able to run was a damned good qb, but that ability has left him and right now he's trying to play the game the same way Glenn does, and he isn't as good at it. For all Glenns problems we'd still be further ahead with him at the controls than Pierce at this stage of Pierces career.
  15. 2010 called they want their arguments back. Seriously, the Buck Pierce of today is not the same guy who was a damned good qb when he was healthy. Glenn has his warts, but he is a better and more consistent passer than Buck Pierce is currently. Pierce used to make up for that with his legs, but when was the last time you saw Pierce make a defense pay with his legs? I'll provide a hint, it was early in the 2011 season against Edmonton.
  16. and how did that work out? The brilliant minds who planned that move seem to be not around any longer and for good reason. They handed a job to someone who didn't deserve it and Glenn had to step in and save that team from braindead decisions. I get that some people don't like Glenn, but he is at this moment in time a better qb than Pierce is.
  17. the thing about walker is that if you miss him once he might just run 70+ yards into the endzone. Not the kind of guy who will wear a defense down but he is a big play threat so gotta be careful of that.
  18. yeah he's starting games for us.
  19. but that's mostly cause he spends more time on the IR than playing. When he's played he's been solid, just a big old case of injury prone.
  20. well at think at this point in their careers that yes Tate is better than Pierce, but the big point is that neither one is able to stay healthy so let's look at better options because with either one you're still waiting for that more durable guy to step up.
  21. Let's be honest, imports aren't really the concern with the expansion draft, it's the NIs that are the concern. Especially for Winnipeg. We're finally getting that area rebuilt to the point where it's not a huge gaping hole and now it's looking at a setback with Ottawa being able to grab some players.
  22. defensive player of the week HAD to go to someone one the bombers defense. Turner takes it home but it really was a team award as far as I'm concerned.
  23. he was always known as a smart guy... Did you know that Scott Milanovich was a bloody 3rd string qb in the CFL? Guess he had nothing to add to Calvillo or Rays game either? How guys do as players has very little bearing on how good they are as coaches.
  24. Well the questionability of it comes with all the interfering Bruce was doing himself. Yes JJ was interfering, but so was Bruce, call it both ways.
  25. well the assumption is always that the player wants to stay in winnipeg and you've got a handshake deal in place with them... it's not perfect but at the same time it is just as much of a gamble for Ottawa to select people with no contracts.
