I dunno, is it not reasonable to think that if not for the upcoming expansion draft that they might have pulled the trigger on morley and gone with swiston starting and pencer as the backup? Seems like it's something that could have been done but was maybe held off on in light of the expansion draft.
yes exactly the point! and by not playing he stays off the radar. If he got to play and played well then there's a chance people notice him. Seriously why are people having a hard time understanding that concept?
would not surprise me in the least if Poblah wasn't protected.
what is the contract status of some of the more notable NI players on this team anyway? I would suspect that guys who have expiring deals are likely to be left unsigned until after the expansion draft if possibe.
which is exactly the point. If he goes onto the roster and gets to play and play well it's just another guy who might start to show up on someones radar. If he's on the IR all year and just practising then he's not likely to draw any interest and you can leave him unprotected and likely not lose him all the while protecting someone else who might actually draw some interest like Swiston. Same reason there were a lot of guys drafted this past year who weren't going to show up in the CFL this season.
I didn't even say the O, I said Simpson. Watching Hamilton both times it seems that their linebackers are failing hard. Get the rbs past the line and there's room to run and keep the sticks moving. The esks if they'd just kept handing the ball off could have absolutely killed the ticats. If Simpson is looking for a break out game this one looks to be the one to do it in.
oh Hamilton, you so bad....
When will people stop pumping that teams tires every single offseason? They get so much benefit of the doubt in the media for some unknown reason despite never getting any better.
Other than BC though which other teams have developed a qb recently? Durant in Saskatchewan.... Tate was with a couple teams before he got his chance in Calgary.... other than that it's a bunch of old guys and retreads. That's why Glenn still has a job in the league. So short on qbs and so hard to actually develop them you find a guy who has shown he can play a little and he gets a million chances.
Seems to be one of Macks strengths in recruiting for the d-line, finds a lot of guys who are very versatile and able to do a lot of things well. I am really hoping that they can keep up the pressure they've been able to get in the first 2 weeks cause when your d-line is wrecking that kind of havoc on an offensive line it makes everyone elses job a lot easier.
I dunno how anyone thinks Hall comes out... he was pretty fantastic in game one and while he didn't get the glory stats in game 2 he was clearly part of a team effort on defense. He's just a real complete player on the end and much better than the stats showed last game.
The bigger concern if I'm a stamps fan is how awful the defense was. They could not take themselves off the field at all in the 2nd half and that only compounded the offenses problems. They didn't get many chances to redeem themselves.
Have they made the initial tackle on anyone this game? Just so many missed tackles. Hufnagel is going to bring a sack of doorknobs to the next practise to beat guys with.
It's going to be really interesting to watch what happens in Montreal. Calvillo is clearly not happy with the offense they're running, Have to see if there's a mutiny of some kind there. Will also be interesting to see if any other defense exposes him the same way that the bombers did. It's not the first time that the bombers defense has got into Calvillos head so maybe it's just a matchup problem.
kohlert just reminds me so much of Stoddard out there. Doesn't jump off the page at you but sure enough there he is making the plays. Big fan of what our canadian receivers are doing there.
Thanks for saving me the trouble. Even better is adding in what the offense actually accomplished on their own getting those 33 points. 7 came from a punt return, 7 more came after the D set them up right near the goal line with an int return.
