  1. until teams figure out their blitz packages. They're not really getting pressure from just the line, they're having to send extra people, once teams recognize where the soft spot is they'll exploit it more.
  2. I think more than anything it was a case of Trestman just slowing it down. Can't ever forget just how old Calvillo is. I think Trestmans offense kept that guy viable for longer than he should have been and now that it's a new coach Calvillo is simply looking his age. This goes for the als o-line as well I think, they have not done a good job this year.
  3. So worst case scenario at the end of the weekend the bombers are still tied for first in the east (everyone at 1-2 how nuts would that be?) or best case scenario they sit alone at 2-1 and bump the ticats to 0-3.... Win that ******* game bombers.
  4. I think he's got more rope than that yet, think that before they fire him they'll explain that he'd damned sure better put in an offense that Calvillo can run or else.
  5. sounds like through the magic of radio that the als defense is doing the same kinds of things they did against winnipeg, stacking the box against the run and sending lots of pressure? How has the Calgary offense done against it? seems like they've moved the ball a bit but having trouble finding the endzone.
  6. I'd agree just send the stuff back (even better if it's shipped and requires a signature, just don't sign for it) and don't pay anything
  7. Calgary radio during halftime of the stamps/als game had an interview with Marcel Desjardins, just made some general comments about what they might be looking to do in the expansion draft. Sounds to me like they'd prefer to convince a qb to come as a free agent than take someone and have that team able to protect more players, unless they felt the qb was just that much of a sure thing. Other comment that seemed to stick out was that he basically dismissed the idea of taking players who are going to be free agents (which is the only thing that makes sense to me) so he's not sure how much quality will actually be exposed from some teams. Nothing ground breaking, but just a few more tidbits of information to chew on.
  8. The internet out here doesn't stream video so well either (it really is like being in a 3rd world country) so i've got to make due with the radio. It's not perfect but it works at least somewhat.
  9. what is truly terrifying is to think how many people would actually give out their credit card information for what in my mind essentially amounts to theft... Some real scummy people in the world who deserves to be raped in the ass with a rusty fork.
  10. it's a big game for both teams. starting 1-2 would not be great for either of them and the loser would be on a real slide. And I still don't have bloody TV to watch it! goddammitsomuch!
  11. but TSN has always been in on the rider fan circle jerk. Hell I'd argue that they started it back around 2003 when the riders started to climb out of being the laughing stock of the league.
  12. I know what you're saying, what I'm saying though is that it's both. The guy isn't as fast or as quick as he used to be and couple that with his other problems and you see why he is nowhere near the qb he was before. It is a sad case of a players physical abilities not being the same but his mental hurdles are also so great that he isn't able to overcome that like some other qbs have done as they aged.
  13. http://www.cfl.ca/roster/show/id/269 http://www.cfl.ca/roster/show/id/3653 really think it's not true after comparing that?
  14. Never listen to the riders radio station. Being the biggest homer going is their entire MO. Plus the guys just flat out aren't that good. Bob Irving is never allowed to retire, us bomber fans are so lucky to have that guy doing games for us. You don't realize it until you actually listen to the crap other teams have to put up with.
  15. The discussion won't end as long as the qb position is the way it is in Winnipeg. Yeah it's unlikely to see Glenn in Winnipeg with Tate on the injured list again, but the position for Winnipeg is such and Achilles heel it will always be a discussion until the position is stabilized.
  16. Tim Hortons is basically THE case study for effective marketing.
  17. let's say that they went ahead and borrowed the gameplan the bombers used to beat the argos last season when Simpson and Ford ran all over the Argos.
  18. No it's more than that... he can't run like he used to, he is slower both mentally and physically. Yeah the 48 yarder was exceptional, but pre-2012 Pierce could pick up a lot of yards with his legs and keep a defense guessing because of it. Without that aspect of his game PIerce is just a sitting duck. He's not and has never been a pocket passer, you take away the running dimension of his game and he's not nearly as effective.
  19. Montreals defense looked like **** until they started bringing everyone against Pierce, it was effective but I doubt it will be as effective against Calgary.
  20. the hype for the riders is always turned up to 11, this might actually cause the end of the universe as we know it.
  21. the defense is 1-1, the offense, led by Buck Pierce has twice pulled a disappearing act when the game was on the line and a good drive could win the game. Seriously, put together a decent drive in game one this team could be 2-0 but no, the offense pulled a 4th quarter disappearing act twice. The key was in week 2 they forced a turnover to win the game when the offense once again failed to stay on the field to run the clock down. With this defense I would say that Glenn would win more than pIerce would. You will never admit it, but Pierce is not the qb he once was and Glenn is nowhere near as bad as you make him out to be. Glenn is the very definition of average, and with the defense the bombers are fielding average is good enough to win. Pierce is nearly a liability at this point.
  22. Because Buck Pierce is no longer able to attain the lofty peak of mediocrity.
  23. I'd hold off on putting Calgary in that group just yet. Yeah they were damned good in week 1 but week 2, and specifically the 2nd half against the riders were as bad as anything in the CFL this year.
  24. and that right there is why a lot of people dislike glenn and I think it's a stupid reason. Guy is just even keeled, but so many fans want to see guys punching holes in the wall and screaming and all that cause that's what a lot of fans feel like doing with each loss.
  25. Denmark has been pretty involved the first couple games I think, wouldn't surprise me to see him have a good season... but I don't know who to pick as the leader... think it'll be spread out a fair bit.
