This is my concern, as well. Coaches tend to be a very stubborn lot. First of all, still the best avatar/username combo on the site... but I don't know that Burke is that stubborn, his one redeeming characteristic as a head coach is that he's able and willing to learn and change.

I think the main thing to take away is the context. I mean if a qb puts the ball in a catchable spot and the receiver drops it ending the possession is it entirely fair to just say "not enough yards passing"? If a possession ends cause the running game gets stuffed is it fair to only use the number of passing yards? 12 passing yards is not a good stat, but it's gotta be examined within the context of the game.

I've got the 2x Muamba jersey in the new colours and I like it, but I don't understand why it is so tight. My 2x jersey in the old colours is big enough to drown in. The jersies are supposed to be the same size, yet there is a big difference between the sizing, so much so that the new jersey isn't even that comfortable to wear. I am hoping now that Wade is in charge, that he will be taking care of his fellow husky Bomber fans and correcting this oversight. Either increase the size of the 2X jersies or add a bigger size to the options. Reebok has made everything fitted for the last few years. Hockey jerseys too. I can understand for the players, don't know why for retail. Shush. more stuff needs to be fitted rather than made to accomodate fat people. Sigh. It's also the shoulders. I've got extremely broad shoulders that no amount of weight loss is going to fix. The jersies should be bigger. I've got the broad shoulders too but there's nothing that bugs me more than having something that fits across the shoulders and chest but is way way too big around the stomach... and I'm not even that thin either. I just feel like I'd need to weigh 300 pounds for this stuff to fit properly.

Or maybe he would have thrown two incompletions and gone off the field and his stats would look even worse. Pointless to get into hypotheticals based on dropped passes because guess what, every QB has to deal with dropped passes. and maybe he would have got sacked or maybe fumbled or maybe threw an INT, point is we just don't know. It's as likely he could have made some more throws and picked up some more yards as anything else, but you can't fault a qb when others are the ones taking the offense off the field in 2 seperate occasions.

If you're going to make someone a scapegoat you'd better make sure replacing him is going to actually make a difference. If the Bombers can get 8 sacks against the riders who have a good offensive line what can they do against the esks and their swiss cheese line? Buckle up Reilly, it's going to be a rough game.

This isn't just on the qb. when you have 12 yards passing safe to say it's a collective pants shitting. 2 dropped passes does not a half make! When you lock onto your favorite QB at the moment, you really lock on! Actually 2 dropped passes can make huge differences in time. You drop a pass on 2nd and whatever, and your drive stops, you have to punt. The pass is caught and that drive could have lasted another 5 minutes of playing time (if they can keep the drive alive). The same can be said for a missed throw. yes exactly, you drop passes on 2nd downs the offense is coming off the field. Catch them and the drive keeps going and maybe goes 70 yards for a touchdown, maybe not but it's a possibility. There's no locking onto a favourite qb here, there is only trying to help people understand the big picture.

Would think that this goes back to the whole thing when Walters first took over and said he contacted every team and basically put up the open for business sign. During those talks Wally probably got some kind of indication about what types of deals Walters was looking to make or would be willing to make so he went ahead and acted on it.

Doesn't that fact that he held on by a thread as the third stringer for less than half a season tell you what he thought of him? Wally want's pierce and doesn't want Elliott, doesn't that tell you something about Elliott? or more importantly the accuracy of your assesment of him? That Wally wanted a change at the position does not negate the premise that Wally wanted some experience at 3rd string.

Did anyone else who listened to the coaches show notice that Tim Burke really emphasized that Parenteau can play centre? It makes me wonder if they are considering moving Sorensen out to guard or tackle. No, I don't think Sorensen is losing his job. Parenteau being able to play centre means we don't have to dress Kowalczuk anymore. Pencer can play instead. I don't know if I would call it "losing his job". More like getting moved over to strengthen the right side of the line. Sorensen has tackle experience. Would be interesting to see something like January-Greaves-Parenteau-Kowalczuk-Sorensen, with Pencer as the sixth man. Not saying it's going to happen, but the way Tim Burke was talking it sure sounds like there is going to be a bit of a shuffle going on the OL. Sorenson has bad tackle experience... Hell the only place he's managed to stick in his travels around the league is in Winnipeg at centre. Most likely scenario is Parenteau simply plays guard, Kowalczuk is no longer the 6th ol and Pencer is.

You can be the real deal and be overhyped. He had a lot of success early, but now that teams have clued in you see what the Bombers did, take away the riders run game and make them beat you in other ways. HIs on pace numbers were unsustainable just because no runningback goes through an entire season putting up that kind of yards per game without defenses saying "OK let's focus on stopping that guy"

however Durant did also get sacked 8 times... Perhaps you're guilty of remembering the times Durant was able to get away and for Goltz you're more focussed on the times he was caught.
