  1. Kamau Peterson when he used to post on bomber message boards "when you're 6'4 you're always open"
  2. Well the people hiring should know this person's track record is and whether they possess the qualities required to be a head coach. Same as anything really. Not everyone is a straight shooter with upper management potential. Some people are just better off being lower on the totem pole.
  3. Well regardless of whether or not he is kept on the PR there us absolutely no reason to roster a guy who serves no purpose and takes no reps on game day. Just wasting a spot.
  4. I do think they still like Lawrence. He started the year and they kept him around. I doubt we've seen the last of him.
  5. That's why it's frustrating to see them refuse to put in some help at defensive tackle. Even if they put a useful end they could play Willie or Jeffcoat inside time to time, which has been successful in the past. Just handicapping things by forcing the depth to be old man thomas and the invisible man Bennett.
  6. That's what I was getting at, the inside of the Dl isn't enough on their own, makes everything else slower. So dbs can't just go forward knowing the pass is coming out quick.
  7. Bighill always seems to be at the LOS, there isn't much 2nd level and the interior of the DL isn't as strong as years past. Think it makes the dbs have to chase more rather than come downhill.
  8. Bennett got a chance simply because that's a ratio decision. Honestly Haba was the only rookie who looked like he had a clue in preseason on defence and it's not like he was amazing, just more of an i guess he was around the ball a lot kind of thing. We've lost Canadian talent for a variety of reasons and I don't think their last draft was all that strong. So it means some of the NIs are weaker. Throw in some lackluster recruiting and it was just not a stellar offseason. These coaches do know how to evaluate talent. The only quibble can be how they allocate NI vs. Import positions sometimes.
  9. With agudosi i think it's a combo of the size and that first game. People get excited for that kind of thing. Reality is he needed to do more when he got his chance
  10. Lots of reasons... age, type of player in some positions, lacking some ooomf in the middle of the DL...
  11. Bc were head hunting, schoen taken a beating, giving him a break ain't the worst when Brady was the man.
  12. Agudosi had a chance when Lawler was hurt, he didn't do enough with it. As for swarthy, we'll Parker is healthy, Houston is ahead of him too, Lawrence is still around, depth at db.
  13. The point is they identified them and kept them around for when they needed the depth. They've shown the ability to evaluate players. If no one was kept around after camp should we just not assume no one was good enough?
  14. Because they're envious as all hell and clearly without an extension he is looking to bolt to the riders
  15. Zach tossed a pick 6 among other things
  16. And I can't really agree with that. There is plenty of evidence to suggest this staff can identify and give chances to talent. Stove, all the dbs, Wilson, Sayles, etc etc. I think the guys they had in camp simply weren't good enough. Yes they have some favorites, but they didn't even keep guys on the pr...
  17. So you don't agree that it's a case of a bad offseason? I think it is. Yes we could use a couple bodies differently but I don't see it making a huge difference. The times this team struggles is when the offense doesn't sustain drives. Collaros is paid as the best qb in league, we have what is supposed to be an Allstars OL with 2 extra bodies on the roster who are there so we don't lose them and we got receivers out the ass. Those guys shouldn't need the D to carry them.
  18. Roster issues to me are minor. Yes having a better DL rotation would improve some things, but how much? Debatable. I don't see the D as the main reason for any loss really. Given the stat power, salary and depth on offense there's a lot less forgiveness when they don't perform. Honestly I think it was a rather poor effort from the scouts this last offseason. I wanted to see some new faces on the DL and linebacker especially but watching the preseason games no one stood out. I recall discussing that post game with friends and saying the only one who came close to standing out was Haba, and he was the only guy they kept. We got some old dudes and not a lot of depth in some places. To me that's on the recruitment as much as the coaches.
  19. Cfl, small budgets, tons of places aren't being scouted.
  20. No-one ever argued the main points, just the over the top hyperbole.
  21. Some people have built the roster "issues" into a much bigger deal than it actually is. And also think that by not completely dismissing certain players they are actually fanbois of said players. It's bizarre to me how this has been built up into this weird huge thing...
  22. Reads more to me like a guy truly hurt people would argue with him. Here's how I see it... booch is engaged in an argument that doesn't really exist and has taken it to a level where people are making fun of him now.
  23. Here's the thing... Kolo is "fine"... just that some people believe for good reasons that we could do better than fine at the position.
  24. It's nice to have a guy like Oleary orange waiting to go in.
