Gary Battmen Signs 7 Year Extension
iso_55 replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I had read that Gary Bettman didn't want MacLean to be part of the main studio panel anymore. Bettman wanted him out so probably a combination of both. -
Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

The more guys come & go the more they are forgotten unless they're Brock Lesnar or the Rock. That seems to be what's happening to Chris jericho. The WWE is not giving jericho any push. He was there simply to get AJ over in his first WWE televised match on Raw & that was it. Becoming a guy getting involved in random feuds with no real direction. You get the feeling that Jericho coming back is just a pit stop so why should WWE help give him that push? -

Jericho is getting no pop anywhere it seems. The fans don't seem to care. Heel turn? -

And sparring with Bettman got MaLean banished to far flung outposts every weekend when we all know he should be on the HNIC panel. It doesn't pay to be a hero sometimes. -

Paul Levesque played a rich snob as a wrestler in the 90's. Now he is a real rich snob who controls the destiny of every wrestler on the NXT & WWE roster. -

I'd love to have known what Bettman & Fehr were talking about. -

That interview Strombo had with Bettman yesterday. Bettman seemed to be even more prickly than usual. Don't know if that was because of John Scott or not but he just seemed to brush off everything that was asked. From expansion to the Scott situation himself. Bettman dropped the mic the second the interview was over while still on camera wanting out of there. No warm & fuzzies in that interview. -

The best thing that evet happened to the Winnipeg Jets 2.0 was the Jets 1.0 leaving so the market here could appreciate the team more. It's up to ownership & management to build a winner here now. Bettman may not have really fought for the old team to keep them here but there wasn't much to fight for over 20 years ago. -
How many players would want to come to Winnipeg for an all star game? That's why the Jets may get the game once in the next 30 years. If the game was played in Winnipeg, I wonder what the theme would be? This year's format was better than others. I didn't like the way Jim Randorf asked the players on the ice to do pbp. What's next, he puts on a pair of skates & takes a shift? The interviews with Amy Grant & her country star hubby on the bench? Nothing like talking to celebrities who know very little about the game. We know the players could care less out there but the broadcaster should. I ended up switching to the Pro Bowl & never saw the final. I can tell you, two games that don't need an all star game, hockey & football.

Things have sure changed.

Best of luck to the Hitman Brett Hart. The last 20 years haven't been good to him having to overcome the affects of the concussion he received thanks to Bill Goldberg, having to overcome a stroke he suffered & now Prostate cancer. I wish the man all the best after his surgery & hopefully good health afterwards for years to come. -
An actual former qb coaching qbs. Nothing wrong with that.
-
Absolutely. However, with Wild here just can't see a real fit.
-
No real injury issues with Raymond. He's missed some games over the years but not any more than anyone else. For a 33 year old he's in great shape. Just a wily veteran who would really be an addition on defense. At his age a short term fix but the guy can still play. I imagine Chris Jones will go hard for him.
-
Really mankes you wonder, doesn't it? This is a team who may fall to last place next season.
-
There really should be hard & fast rules here. Any team that is caught talking to a player under contract should be faced with $100,000 fine & a loss of a draft pick.
-
Bourque does this every contract then re-signs with the Als. Always wonder why he just doesn't get things done a year earlier & be done with it. Chambers to Toronto & Moore to Calgary. Like tampering or what?

The end of Suplex City. -
Dan LeFevour can't throw or read a defense. Tanner Marsh... Tanner Marsh is a horrible qb. Both these guys will totally out of football in a year.

The Bombers did shelter Lirim. Did try to help him out of his funk. The coaches did everything they could to get him to play better last season. Ultimately he lost their trust, confidence & his kicking position. We can rant to each other here but it's MOS who decides if Lirim comes back or not.

Is this MLFB trying to be a viable pro league or a developmental one? There are so many young football players who graduate from the NCAA trying to make the jump that a true developmental league makes sense but another pro league does not. Amazing how many smart business people will plunk millions down on something like this almost sight unseen just to say they own a football team. Even one that has no chance of ever succeeding.

As a punter, he can do the least damage. As a kicker, I don't want him knowing there are better kickers out there. Our Scouting Department has to get off their butts & find one. preferably Canadian.
-
Brohm had the skills. He was drafted by the Packers. He just couldn't handle the pressure during games like Liram.
-
If he is re-signed I hope it's just as a punter. He was showing progress in just the singlerole after the Edmonton game. Rob Maver was drafted as a kicker & punter but couldn't either job well so the Stamps brought in Paredes. Maver is now one of the best punters in the CFL no longer handling both. Let Liram concentrate on punting.

Lirim cost us games last year. As a fan, I don't want to bring him back on the premise he might be better. Just like Brian Brohm, time to move on & upgrade kicking.
