  1. Yep. It's not good when your own fanbase thinks like that.
  2. Doesn't want to work with Dickenson? Maybe he wanted to be head coach.
  3. Big time .... it's a huge clue about what we really have for management He's from Quebec, I think. These guys from Quebec or Saskatchewan sign their first contract & then the best players seem to bail back to their home province or in the case of the Eastern players, leave the West Division when that first contract is over. Henoc tried the NFL & it didn't work out but I don't think even though he said nice things about the team he was ever coming back. Really, who cares? Thanks for the memories. Whatever. Done. Sayonara. Watch out for the door slamming behind you, Henoc. Buh bye. Talk to ya later.
  4. You lost me here. The home team is a huge factor. The 2011 Grey Cup was sold out because the Lions were in it. I know because I saw about 30,000 fake fans show up for the game decked out in orange, who probably hadn't been to a game in years. The Cup last year wasn't sold out because the Lions weren't in it. It wasn't "trendy" to be there so the fake fans didn't show up. I was in Abbotsford a few weeks ago having lunch with a guy, and he has Seahawks and Canucks season tickets. Almost everyone in the restaurant that he knew also were Seahawks season ticket holders. When I asked him if he went to any Lions games he just laughed at me. It's not "cool" to say you are going to the Lions game I guess. That was my point though, it wasn't needed before and I even brought up how it seemed to only start in 2011. 2010, 2009, 2008 and 2007 sold well without the home team involved. I wasn't knocking Winnipeg when I brought up the home team thing and I know it provides a boost, but somethings off with the CFL these days, seems to have started in 2013, when the ratings were on pace for record highs, then IIRC once the 3rd week of September hit, they took a tumble. BC is in big trouble IMO, all the work that Bobby Ackles did there disappeared pretty quickly after his death. Ever since Ottawa came back into the CFL 2 seasons ago, the level of play has been just crap. I never would have thought just ONE team could hurt the game so much. It's becoming harder & harder each year to watch the CFL. From a watered down product because of expansion, to the inferior play on the field to terrible broadcasts by TSN to overpriced tickets & concessions, it's just turning fans off across the country.
  5. Yeah, when it comes to Cleveland Browns fans they are our brothers & sisters of pain. They know it & we know it. Two once proud franchises that have become jokes. I watched that game last night & as the Ravens player was running into the end zone on that blocked FG & the Hajrullahu game in early October just popped into my mind. How both these teams just find creative ways to lose.
  6. Uninspiring may be a good description of Orridge.
  7. Well, TSN is sports all day everyday. CJOB is news, sports & discussion so not surprised you feel that way.
  8. Exactly that was total bullshit. No wonder Jones hates the media.
  9. I honestly don't know what I'd do regarding Blue Bomber season tickets if I still lived in Winnipeg as the last 4 years have been dreary & sad. I was a season ticket holder from 1974 to 1989 until I moved to Calgary & then had season tickets for the Stamps from 90 to 98 when I gave them up as I got into coaching as I had 2 young boys who wanted to play football. The practices & games as well as having 2 kids playing simultaneously at 2 different levels made it nearly impossible to attend Stamps games. Back in those days the CFL in the summer & early fall played more games during the week than they do now. If I never left Winnipeg, I'd like to think I'd hang in there & support the team & be a 40 year plus STH but I'm very disgruntled & angry as y'all know. I wish I could be as optimistic as Noeller & 17to85 but I don't see anything there with the triad running the team now to be anywhere near as positive as they are. I really wish I could feel like they do. Man, seeing the Esks win another Grey Cup after being 4-14 in 2013 is so depressing. I was choked. Just don't know anyway else to describe it. I can tell you this. From my own personal experience, once people give up their season tickets chances are they'll never renew again. I got into a different mode of thinking. Football practices & coaching my older son & later my younger one was the most important thing for me. I used to be so excited to go to Bomber games. Couldn't wait to get to my seats, see ST holders who became friends I had known for years.that sat around me. Whether I was 16 or 35 that feeling never left. I have no idea if I'd feel like that now because of all the disappointments the team has thrown out on the field for years. Pretty sad as far as I'm concerned.
  10. Funny how it's just the Eskimos worried about public safety.
  11. That sucks.
  12. Why would Lawless ask the guy this right after the game? Because he's Lawless.
  13. Why would the Eskimos object to this? Because they are now officially The Evil Empire again?
  14. Has the CFL lost it's family oriented image with higher ticket prices & corporate events that most fans can't/won't attend? I do know at one time the CFL prided itself on regular fans affording to come to games.
  15. Both Hamilton & Ottawa have lots of room to expand their stadiums by 10-15,000 if they want. So about the same as us at least.
  16. Well, with reduced capacity & discounts after people paid full price of course there's negativity & skepticism. It seems like people weren't breaking down the doors to buy tickets at their full prices. You mean a small league in a smaller market in a traditionally cold area had a hard time selling out (which it eventually did) Shocking! We had 50,000 at the 91 GC, SPuDS.
  17. Eskimos think sawing logs with a chainsaw after a touchdown is inappropriate so the redblacks logging team weren't on the sidelines today. I think sawing logs is rather a lame touchdown celebration but whatever. Is that the best Ottawa can come up with when they score a touchdown? http://www.ottawasun.com/2015/11/28/loggers-banned-after-esks-raise-stink#.VlsS-FjIn9s.facebook
  18. You'd think with all the other issues that a logo would be the last thing Orridge would spend time on but I guess branding was Job 1.
  19. It is better than the new official one.
  20. Glad you had a great time.
  21. That's not the new logo so I don't get it? Besides looking like a broken coconut. Is it just a representation?
  22. You blame them? Thanks Wade.
  23. I thought it was weird how Brian Williams kept cutting him off and rushing him... I blame him more so then Orridge. Does Williams work once a year now?
