  1. I think it would have for sure... It would have forced Trudeau & Mulcair to really explain their plans for Syrian refugess as well as their foreign policy for that region.
  2. I called him up once in the early 90s was nice to me. Did they kill the sports show after the Jets left? Roughly the same period. They did it with every Global station across Canada. Calgary had a 30 minute sports show for years & it was gone as well. Now Global Calgary gives it roughly seven minutes in the hour they do their late news.
  3. Brad Wall asking the Shiny Pony to rethink his campaign promise regarding allowing the Syrian flood of unvetted refugees into Canada. Will the Shiny Pony do that and look uncool to all of his selfie admirers at the G20 conference? http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatoon/sask-premier-brad-wall-asks-ottawa-to-suspend-syrian-refugee-plan-1.3321159 Quebec as well. Theyaren't saying they don't want refugees from Syria. They're saying do the proper processing. Don't take shortcuts. Don't fastrack 25,000 Syrians. I think the honeymoon for Trudeau is going to wear off fast if he doesn't slow the process down.
  4. Well, it's the Internet, TUP. No way you're a racist.
  5. Well, some people just connect at the wrong time. Doesn't mean Joe is a bad guy. maybe he had a bad day. We all rub people the wrong way sometimes. I mean, look at me... I just don't understand why some here don't like me...
  6. Whats kind of funny is, someone side tracked it based on a side issue that I mentioned rather than discussing the main topic. The point was to cherry pick side topics to try and "win" an argument to make it seem they were correct about the main topic. I dont think it's unreasonable for people to be concerned about inviting 25,000 refugees into Canada in a timeline some experts say is unreasonable when the enemy has promised to hide operatives among refugees and Canada has already appeared on their list of preferred targets for attack. Some people dont like my use of the term "common sense" but I think it applied. Feel free to disagree ofcourse. But anyone resorting to calling poster's racist or akin to those that burned down a Mosque is playing to the lowest and weakest aspect of any argument. It is common sense. I agree 100%.
  7. We need to have discussions like this so I hope this thread stays open.
  8. Just thought I'd mention it as it has been raised as one of the reasons Bellefeuille was let go. Certainly what happened to darian Durant was a total fluke. Not Chap's fault.
  9. Would you agree that we are more than an OC away from having what it takes to make the playoffs or would landing a Chapdelaine be enough? Chaps has a very complex offense. It's not a qb friendly offense as Jacques never played the position so he doesn't look at things the way a qb would as far as reads & progressions go. But he's had success. The thing of it is, it's a throw first offense & we saw this year with Messam that even if the run game was working, he'd go awy from it. Some fans like Jacques & some don't. He's much better OC than MB was. However, he lost 2 qbs running that offense & that was a major complaint about MB so that's something to consider when discussing Chapdelaine.
  10. Buh bye. I won't miss you either blitzmore. Oh sorry, you can't read this.
  11. Agreed. Another Ricky Ray stinker. Good statline, couldn't score enough points. The story of his career beyond 2003. Harris had a couple of bad games & he was benched. Then, Harris can't get back on the field. And Milanovich is so good.
  12. Calgary runs Messam wide & he fumbles. He should be going off tackle& pounding the Lions defense. Crazy call. Stamps look like the Cheshire Cat with the lead they have over the Lions...
  13. It's always easy to call someone xenophobic & racist. Asking for better security isn't asking too much. I agree, and on the social media I've been following, that seems to be the trend. Anyone questioning what Trudeau is wanting to do with the Syrian refugees is immediately attacked and called a "right-wing nutjob" and a xenophobe and a "redneck". I thought this post-Harper era was supposed to be one of open dialogue and inclusion of all ideas and opinions, but instead I've seen the exact opposite. Only Liberal zealots trust Trudeau, it seems. Canadians may have voted the guy in but I don't think they trust him with his first major security decision to do the right thing. He needed time to grow into the job, don't you know? How is making sure we try to prevent terrorists & thugs from entering this country xenophobic or racist???.
  14. But youre assuming that because they're on a winning team that they're in a good situation. What if Brady is tired of being in Milanovich's shadow. What if Condell is getting stressed out with Austin yelling at him every time something goes wrong with the offense. What if they're not? What if they are? What if they're not?
  15. No, I just don't paint entire groups of people with the same brush or justify treating entire groups of people differently because of certain individuals within that group. Well, terrorists & criminals are within that group you say we're painting so you can rage on. You can't change that. Most Canadians aren't against refugees coming here if they are screened properly so the criminal element aren't allowed in. Not just having the borders flung open so any Syrian refugee can come in. I'm sure this attack will heighten refugee scrutiny but they can't punish all refugees for the crimes of a few. All Canadians ask is for their government to be responsible & make sure the people they let in have had the proper background checks & have been vetted properly. No one is saying we don't want refugees. Just that it is done properly over however long of a period of time that it takes. Exactly Iso. And anyone who calls someone else a Xenophobe for asking for this level of scrutiny is the one with the problem. It's fine to say you want to be compassionate and open the floodgates, but then don't be surprised when bombs are going off and people are being machine-gunned in restaurants by people you let walk in with no checks, all in the name of political correctness and feeling good about what an open-minded bleeding heart person you are. There's a real world out there, and a lot of people who are willing to die to enforce their will and religion on societies, using their own laws against them. And it's only going to get worse. It's always easy to call someone xenophobic & racist. Asking for better security isn't asking too much.

  17. J5V, I think people on this board would consider someone like Dave Dickenson, Tommy Condell, Marcus Brady & Jason Maas quality coaches. Some may consider Jacques Chapdelaine, George Cortez & Paul LaPolice quality coaches...

  19. Captain Blue, any qualified coach who is in a good situation with their team won't leave to come here. The coach that will come are young coaches who never were OC's wanting to prove themselves like Khari Jones or fired coaches looking for a new gig like Paul LaPolice. Dependent on the Saskatchewan situation & if a new HC is hired there, maybe Jacques Chapdelaine. The guys we probably all want are gainfully under contract, in the playoffs on a superior team & pushing for a championship.

  21. We can only hope.
  22. Because the view on our squad has changed regardless of the fact you refuse to see it? If players are viewing us as a destination and not a penance.. Thats a postive change. If a player is saying we are looking more "nfl" then other teams.. Thats a positive. Changed? How so, SPuDS?? This is still a circus. O'Shea has fired all 3 of his coordinators that he originally hired. With a new OC coming in, it'll mean more coaches will be let go & new ones brought in. This is still a losing organization. This is still a coaches graveyard. A virtual cemetery. Maybe the HC stays for the duration of his contract but the assistants & coordinators are in constant flux. No one who is worth hiring wants to come here to have a gun pointed at their head the first day on the job. The head coach has 1 more year remaining on his contract & won't be offered a new one until he can actually prove he can coach a winner & make the Bombers a playoff football team. Why would anyone who is on a better team with better personnel just up & quit their team to coach here to be probably buried as a coach? I can't see it.
  23. Well, we landed one in 2015. Maybe real professionals look at more than just the win/loss record before they make a decision. Sure & Dorothy said she didn't think she was in Kansas anymore either.
  24. I maintain that this team isn't viewed any better today than it was 2 years ago as nothing has changed. No one who is a quality coach employed now will come here if they are already a coordinator somewhere else. Why would they? So, it'll be a position coach who wants the promotion. But probably an unproven rookie OC who was a position coach. So, don't expect Jason Maas to come here. Don't expect Marcus Brady. Or George Cortez. They won't be coming. It's the culture. It's just what they do. It's The Bomber Way.
  25. If quality coaches wouldn't come in 2014, why do fans here think they'll come in 2016?
