Dominique Davis Named Starting QB vs Argos

Well, coaches have favourites. Brohm always has been the golden haired boy on this team. Given more chances to make this team than a one legged Canadian receiver with no fingers & a torn knee ligament. -
Around the CFL Regular Season Discussion
iso_55 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Disagree completely. Found myself, oddly cheering for Burris yesterday. Like to see the old guy leave with a cup. And the fans were not the problem in Ottawa in the past. The problems in the past were all about bizarre ownership and management combined with a a terrible stadium and lousy teams. Well, that's us now minus the stadium although the people who built it screwed up. -
Why would Steinhauer come here? Why would any viable OC or DC candidate? if fans think that these coaches are just waiting to come here to be part of our circus, (lame duck head coach) think again.

Sean Connery was the best Bond. Then they got that ass clown Roger Moore to take his place & he played Bond the way Adam West played Batman, with a continuos smirk on his face for years. Moore was worse than Timothy Dalton.

I could be wrong, but I think O'Shea is in the "these are professional athletes, it's their job to motivate themselves" group. I have no idea about whether that works or not. Fear of losing your job is the best motivator. Works in pro sports or in business. Did you get the feeling MOS looked like a guy worried about this coming week?

My wife, infant son & myself would have been trapped in our apartment second floor balcony because of a 6 foot snowdrift. Our good neighbour saw it, shoveled his way up the outside stairs to our deck from the ground level & shoveled us out. I had no idea how bad it was until I went out once the storm died down to shovel myself & heard someone outside scraping outside our door. Really appreciate what he did that day. If something bad like a fire had happened we'd have been trapped. That's what Winnipeg was like those few days, people unselfishly helping each other out. Strangers caring about other strangers.

Walk into a wall once it's an accident. Walk into the same wall again & again, you either need glasses or are very stupid.

I can just see Miller, Walters & O'Shea all agree to fire Bellefeuille. Then after the deed is done & announced, all get together for a beer in the Blue Bombers coaches locker room saying. "Well done, on to the next". The Bombers are actually bringing these 3 back next year. Unfreakingbelievable.
-
You're absolutely right. No accountability and it's obvious by the way they play. That's on Mike ("but the player's like him") O'Shea. #welikemike
-
x2 The parents of the players will be thrilled, c'mon. And the tens... & tens of fans that follow them.

I really hope Walters leaves. The Bombers remind me of an ice jam on a river. Everything is clogged up behind it. Walters goes & then it's blown up. the head coach & scouting dept is reassessed. If Walters leaves it's not status quo anymore. If a new GM comes in, he's not loyal to O'Shea as he didn't hire him. Then we know there'll more than likely be changes.#fingerscrossed I just don't know how the Bombers can sell a 5-13 season to the fanbase & expect that next season we'll go 11-7 or 12-6 with a playoff spot. It won't happen.

Burris started in Regina didn't he? No, with the Stamps in 1997. -
I don't know about that. A new GM might like the guy. He might not but it's not like O'Shea was a totally out of left field hire for head coach. Most GMs like to bring in their guy. But I guess we'll find out soon enough if Walters leaves.
-
Miller put this organization together so he should be held accountable. But he won't be fired. If Walters goes, then O'Shea can't survive with a new GM. Mike better hope Guelph doesn't come a calling.

'NHL is ready for gay player,'
iso_55 replied to The Unknown Poster's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Gay or straight, if you can score 50 goals in the NHL in a single season you're on my team. -
Rona Ambrose? Wow, exciting. The Conservatives have no depth so the interim position went to her by default.
-
Hopefully we've seen the last of Hajrullahu as a place kicker with this team.

I'm not a big hockey strategist but since the 2004-05 lockout, hasn't the the trap just about been eliminated?

Living in Calgary I get to see the Flames a lot on tv. They are a quick team but small. They get knocked off the puck & lose battles along the boards. Goaltending is horrid. Everyone thought the Flames were the next up & coming team but looks like they played over their heads last season... I look at the Jets & they're skilled players & the Flames with theirs. Pretty similar but the lack of size kills them.
-
Great finish for the Jets. This team... not where it should be quite yet. However, big, tough & skilled. They can only get better. I don't think any team will want to play us as the season goes on.
-
Why aren't we better? End of Year 2 & no real progress? Again, that's on management & coaching. Somehow Miller got to the media especially Lawless & turned him into a fanboy by continually writing stories in the Freep, tweeting or on TSN saying we'll be much better next year with no real basis of fact to go on. I have serious doubts about that. O'Shea has a lot of issues going forward as a head coach. One being in over his head as a coach. Next year the pressure will really be on to win. Pity the poor guy if he doesn't.

I like the games now. What's wrong with them?
