Well, what if's really don't mean much. Other teams had to deal with injuries to their qbs & other positions & they were able to maintain their momentum. All it took was one key injury & our season was absolutely lost. So, you can say with Willy we'd win but we didn't. Others did. That's on management not bringing in good enough players &/or coaching. Injuries are excuses. Teams adapt or they lose.

Most of the marginal NHL players back then are AHL calibre players today. Maybe a handful of goaltenders from the 1979 thru 84 could play today but I think most would be AHL or backup goaltenders today. I'm talking some big names too.

Whose Tee hee Dion is useless. And a joke of a politician. Obvious reward for being a good soldier.

Do we really want to see 8-6 games like it was when Gretzky played? Guys with average talent were 35 goal scorers. Above average players were scoring 50. Then the superstars 60 & more. The goalies back then were terrible. Defense was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The NHL-WHA merger lowered ythe calibre of play as there weren't enough good North American players to go around. Only the influx of Euros in the late 80's & 90's brought the talent level back up. I'd rather watch a well played 3-2 game of today than a ragged 9-7 or 9-8 game from 35 years ago.

You're being too hard on yourself. :-) Thanks but it was a cruel thing to do. Not one of my better moments. Pretty disrespectful to one of the NHL's all time great players of the first half of the 20th century & in the HHOF. But that's life. I learned from it. As my 29 year old son used to say when he was 10... "What a dumb kid!!"

But if you believe that, you won't buy carbon credits and put money into Al Gore's fat pockets. And we can't have that. And poor David Suzuki will be standing in line at food kitchens in Vancouver.

Hollywood fantasy... It's fun to watch & get into as a fan (which I enjoy) but nothing based on reality. A theory is just that, a theory. Therefore if that theory is used not based on scientific fact, it is therefore a fantasy.

Science Fiction implies that what is written in it is not real or it is imagined. Or not based in reality. The science part is mostly the fiction part. So there was a time that the Earth orbiting around the Sun rather then the Sun orbiting around the Earth was pure fantasy? The earth being round instead of flat was pure fantasy but now it is fiction?? At what point does fantasy become Science Fiction before it becomes reality? To me Science Fiction revolves around some future or alternate world where these is advanced science and / or technology for the things they do, and usually involves outer space. Fantasy is typically some land or different world that is still in or around the bronze / iron age, has no computers or combustion engines and has some sort of magic. There are of course some works that blur the lines of both. Science Fiction implies that what is written in it is not real or it is imagined. Or not based in reality. Seven of the 9 CFL teams lost their qbs. In Hamilton's & Montreal's case it happened multiple times so I think that blows your theory on better OC's protecting their qbs.

Travelling at Warp 9.5 isn't fantasy? Scientists & physicists say that travelling at light speed is impossible so until someone invents the ability to travel at the speed of light then it's fantasy. Not based in reality.

I had a few beers at a Jet game at the old Barn in 1979. I was Jets season ticketholder at the time. We were on the East side upper deck at the top in the concourse & media used to use the cat walk to get to the press box. They were virtually the same level as the upper concourse but perhaps 50 feet away. Well, I saw Harold Ballard & his sidekick at the time King Clancy walking on said catwalk as the Leafs were in town to play the Jets. Being the idiot half drunk guy, wanting to impress his friends, smart ass that I was, at the time, I yelled out, "Hey Clancy... You died last week but Harold forgot to tell you!" Well,as soon as I yelled that out, I even shocked myself. Both Ballard & Clancy stopped, looked around trying to see who'd say such a horrible thing. Even my friends & the crowd around me reacted with an "OOOOOH" . I couldn't believe I yelled out what I did & immediately regretted it. Pretty cruel thing to say to Clancy as he was pretty old & died about a year later. One of the reasons why I completely quit drinking beer & never touch the stuff at games anymore. I'll never forget how stupid I was that day.

Rock died sometime in the late 80's and early 90's. There were a few grunge bands that managed to keep rock and roll alive somewhat...but sadly they too were overtaken by the autotuned/computer super-produced music we have had ever since. Why do 50000 people show up for an AC/DC concert? Because even though there music is as old as the hills they have the actual musical ability to play a live show successfully. Unfortunately, not many bands do anymore without lip-synching and computer generated autocorrection of their musical misteps. It's Ryan Seacrest's fault. He's to blame. Well, someone has to be the Fall Guy.

Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Terry Gordy, Sting they had some great talent back then. -
No, they have to go past Voyager or stay in that era. Not go back. Just get rid of annoying & recurring Aliens like Q. And quit making the future look so antiseptic. The notion that all crime, disease & pestilence has been eliminated should be changed. DS9 was supposed to be more edgy & it was but still the space station was just too nice a place for the situation it was in & the beings that visited or inhabited it..

Wasn't the WCW a niche audience anyway for the most part? They hated the establishment WWF & liked the fact that WCW was seen as more outlaw? I think the WWE was going to lose most of their audience anyway. -
In an alternate universe the Blue Bombers have won 37 Grey Cup championships & the New England Patriots don't cheat. Aaron Rodgers is a gay figure skater & Rod Black is the most respected broadcaster in the world loved by millions everywhere but especially in the Ukraine.

I've been watching wrestling since I was young. I also know matches are pre-determined but these guys are athletes. The injuries they suffer are real. -

Okay, well I bow to your arrogant superiority. -
I'd strongly push Liram out the door.
