O'Shea believes Bombers better than their record
iso_55 replied to Fatty Liver's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Publicly he has to stick by his coaches. He can't say anything negatively. I get that. We'll see what happens after the last game of the season. -
wow- we suck. why have sucked for so long?

There's no right guy in Hamilton right now. -
Sure, why not. Whatever. WWE Network and Wrestlemania

WWE like any company has to protect its assets. Having them injured on the sidelines isn't what's "best for business". -

So, Rollins has injured 2 wrestlers in the ring. He may be a great worker but how responsible is he? That move of power bombing a wrestler into the turnbuckle is dangerous. -

1967? Jeez, c'mon. That '68 team with its 3-13 record was the best team ever. As Blue Bomber Head Coach at the time Joe Zaleski used to say."We're optimistic." -

He's an impact player & I really wanted to see Curran here. -

Glenn 0-5 as a starter. He'd sure help Hamilton a lot more than he'd help Saskatchewan at this point. If I'm Austin, I'd trade for him. The Cats would have a great chance to win a GC with Glenn. No chance with those 2 rookie qbs that'll be playing now. -

Bigger, stronger, faster & wearing less equipment than ever before. And the equipment doesn't fit properly. Receivers especially wear undersized shoulder pads which sets them up for more shoulder & arm injuries. You see it on both offensive & defensive lines with players wearing less protective padding. Check out Alex Hall's shoulder pads next time the Riders play as he actually looks like he isn't wearing any. Helmets are not properly inflated. Players take them on & off like baseball caps. They fly off when there is a hit because they aren't properly inflated. No way are they supposed to come off that easily if they're properly inflated. If they were, players would need 2 hands to put on their helmet. Not grabbing their helmets by the face mask & just popping them on. Helmets aren't properly inflated because they're uncomfortable to wear so players don't like them as they are very tight. If they aren't properly inflated then how can these new helmets protect from concussions? They can't & they don't. Next game, watch how easily the players take off their helmets on the sidelines. It's not supposed to be that way. In this day of concussion protocols & lawsuits it is mind boggling a league directive hasn't come down for every team's equipment staff to make sure all helmets are inflated properly & then to hide the pumps so the players can't let the air out when no one is around. -

The turf they use now with the rubber pellets is much, much better than the Tartan or Astro Turf that was used up until maybe a decade ago when this new technology came out. In the days of natural grass field vs artificial turf there was more forgiveness with natural turf. On natural grass, when a player cut his cleats didn't just stop because the traction was so good with artificial turf, it may have slipped slightly from momentum on natural grassthus allowing less force to be applied to knee & ankle joints than today when tackled so there was more forgiveness on a players joints. So,back in the day the injuries weren't as frequent. Proof of that is the fact teams played 16 regular game seasons with a month of training camp & four pre season games with a 32 man roster & 4 man taxi squad. teams would have injuries but not to the extent it destroyed the roster although depth was always an issue. -
Well, that worked out well for Simmons & his agent. The Bombers have now prevented Simmons from feeding his family. Cue the hateful tweets a' comin'.

ANOTHER BLOWOUT loss to a last place team
iso_55 replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Charlie Brown said that? Link please. -
This could be a huge distraction to the team affecting their chances to win if it's not nipped in the bud now. It could affect the outcome of the season negatively. Oh wait...

Players don't go full out in practice as they're wearing shoulder pads & helmets. Not in full gear. There are no more tackling or hitting drills in today's CFL like their used to be where the tempo of a practice was raised to a fever pitch because of the contact in the drills. Players now hit at THUD level which is a bit over half speed. In other words, make contact but don't drive thru the opposition player into the ground at full speed to avoid injuries. It looks lazy but it's not. In the 70's players wore full gear to practices & they did a lot more hitting than today. That just doesn't happen anymore. The NFL is the same way. Very rare for teams now to go full pads & gear during practice.

Does this remind you of the denials from the Riders after Lawless broke the story that Chamblin would be fired last month? I'm sure this report has legs. Just like the story in Regina did. One we'll find out about after the GC game.
-
But what if he can't make trades because of his poor interpersonal skills? Lawless said he rough around the edges. Well, we don't know what that means exactly, do we? It's a pretty generalized statement. Maybe it means he doesn't drink white wine at social gatherings. He has worked in personnel for 3 CFL teams & is hugely successful so he's no neandertal. The other thing, as someone pointed out, Lawless is a pal of Taman & who knows may be tire kicking for the guy if Walters leaves.

There's a plus for Murphy. He does have experience Jacquie, Read his bio. He's already doing the job that full time GMs do. He has since 2010. And Hufnagel just sits there and twiddles his thumbs. I don't think so. I've read his bio and he's an assistant GM who has no experience running the show. Hufnagel makes the decisions, not Murphy. Of course Huff makes the final decision. He's his boss but Murphy does all the work & comes to him with his recommendations, You think Huff does the scouting? Even Lawless today on TSN 1290 acknowledged Murphy is an extraordinary recruiter. If you look at his bio at Stampeders.com, he negotiates contracts, he monitors the waiver wire, he preps the neg list, he's in charge of FA camps, manages the salary cap, he recruits FA players & helps prepare the CFL draft for Huff. Yeah, Murphy does nothing & contributes nothing to the Stampeders. He's just a lowly assistant gofer who fetches coffee & bagels for Hufnagel everyday.Washes Huff's SUV when it gets dirty.Maybe cuts his grass in summer & shovels his walk in winter. I even posted a link so someone like you can read it yet you still don't want to believe anything it says. What's the point in posting links like you demand when you don't believe what they say anyway? Talk about being overly dramatic. Where did I say Murphy does nothing - answer: NOWHERE. He's not the only assistant GM who does that stuff. Michael Petrie is an assistant GM with the Stamps too and if you read his bio it says "He works closely with head coach/general manager John Hufnagel on the club’s general football operations and football-related strategic planning. He is responsible for management of the salary cap, all football budgets and expenditures and he assists with contract structuring and negotiating." Fact remains no matter what he does for the Stamps he has no GM experience. Yeah, you basically did. The bio said what it said but you just don't believe it. if Petrie's bio said he does what he does, why wouldn't I believe it? However, Michael doesn't recruit & couldn't tell you the strengths & weaknesses of players at any position if they were performing in front of him. Murphy can & does. Huff says to Murphy that the Stamps need a left tackle so go out & find one which he does. Big difference. That is his strength.
-
He has more experience than Walters. Has contacts everywhere in the US proven by the fact he can find quality players. I mean, the fanbase here ******* about everyone. Don't want experience like Higgins because he was away from football too long in the CFL front office. Don't like Murphy because he's too inexperienced so you tell me Jacquie, if Walters leaves who do we hire? Bomber fans don't like this guy, don't like that guy, blah, blah, blah. Something always not to like.
-
Exactly. Just freaking brutal. So Canadian in that respect. Bruno Gerussi would have been proud! The Cornish one in Calgary is where he runs from McMahon Stadium in gull gear to a Humpty's & then in a monotone robotic voice tells us how great it is.

Ritchie is a very, very good DC & he'll figure it out. Man, I just want a monster defense to punish other teams for laughing at us. It's about the only thing worth hoping for now as the offense is totally lost. I want other teams to be intimidated when they play the Bombers like they are when they play the Esks & Ti Cats.

iso_55 replied to Goalie's topic in General Discussion
And funny, the Undertaker is only 50 and looks about 15 years older than Sting. The Lawler heart attack really scared WWE off of using older guys, unfortunately. Apparently, the heart attack wasnt even an age-related scenario and he's been cleared to wrestle and does so on the indy scene. Ric Flair worked into his 60's and now, at 66, said he's been medically cleared to wrestle but WWE doesnt want to do that. Thankfully. -
Well, with our offensive woes we'll need a shut down defense to win games. This is one of the pieces to that puzzle.
