[MERGED] Low Down, Rock Bottom (Stone Cold Stunned?)
iso_55 replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Heard that interview on Hustler and Lawless. Wade said the Bombers are heading in the right direction. So, what if the Bombers won say one more game this season & finishes at 4-14? Do we speculate & say they'd stick to their guns & make no changes at the HC level? How could they sell that to fans? -

If we could get DD here as our OC Dickenson named HC of the Stamps next season as Hufnagel moves upstairs to be the GM. -

Your team had a chance to be competitive with a good QB but you wouldnt protect him or have the team excel with better players. That's on the organization not the CFL. Stop crapping on the league because Bomber brain trust wet the bed this year. Until Austin showed up the Ti Cats stunk for the better part of 2 decades averaging 15,000 fans a game. Fans in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. And never once did I deride the whole league as a means to deflect from a bad season. i wasn't talking about the Bombers I was talking about the level of play as a whole. So nice try. -
We don't see them enough.

Well, I would hope we have the money to go after some of the NFL FA's that are now available. Any one of them would help us immensely.

That's what I saw... please stop with this garbage ISO, you've mentioned it 10 times, and every time it's pointed out it's horribly wrong. So going by that data we should hire Edmonton's GM, as Mike Reilly is the only guy on their team making over $100,000. We need that negotiator to get 90% of our team on league minimum contracts. BC doesn't pay any national player more than 71k. We get that you love everything Stampeders and hate everything Bombers, but at least try hate the Bombers for legitimate reasons. Hell according to that site Cornish is the only National player Calgary pays above league minimum. If anyone wants an excel file of all the data from that site pm me and I'll e-mail it to you so you can see for yourself how incomplete it is. It's basically their website but in excel. Now i'm looking at their sourcing for the sourced contracts. So Zach Anderson is listed at $51,000 and sourced. The source is an old cjob article saying he signed, but no reference to salary. So even when they say a contract is sourced it's a joke. You know, I don't know how accurate the website is. They published the salaries & I posted what I saw. And I don't love the Stamps & hate the Bombers or I wouldn't be here you ass.

Bombers Blown Out by 0 & 9 Team ... Oh well, yawn

The team is bad but the defense wasn't to blame for what happened yesterday. Not by a long shot. They had no support at all from the offense or ST's. -

Decades of losing here with no hope or chance of turning things around will do that. But let Miller & the BOD ignore that everyhting is burning all around them. -

It's a serious issue, there are already more NFL fans than CFL fans in T.O., Vancouver and maybe Cgy. If CFL games are seen as a joke, the next generation of fans is lost. Perception is everything. The league was strong at 8 teams. There were far, far more competitive games. Then Ottawa came back & for the life of me I don't know what happened. The quality of play, the blowouts... I just don't get it. -

The defense played as well as it could considering. I won't dump on them because without them it would have been 55-19 or worse. The offense was 2 & out all game with a panicked qb who played scared throughout & a game plan that was useless. Throw in a ST unit that was dreadful. As well as some of the calls that went the Riders way... Defense did fine. Tt was the one shining ray of light coming out of the game yesterday. -

The CFL just sucks. games are blow outs or duds. It's getting to the point of being unwatchable. The league has got a lot of issues it didn't have before the Ottawa expansion. -

The Riders had the ball for 2/3 of the game and only managed two offensive TD's, with the first one coming at the end of the 3rd quarter. The defense did their job. They did get off the field. If you wanna play the what if game: What if special teams hadn't given up a TD and extended a Rider drive by penalty that lead to another What if the Bomber defense scored a TD instead of taking penalties that extended Rider drives leading to another TD If you really want to break it down, the Bomber special teams and defense hurt them more than their futile offense did. I'm not playing the "what if game." The defense was on the field for 2/3 of the game and gave up 2 TD's well into the second half. Those are facts. I guess you could expect them to score too, but they did their job. The benchmark for defenses is 20 points. Even being on the field for 37 minutes the defense gave up 23. They were on the field because they couldn't get off, penalties extending drives leading to points, not forcing turnovers, but that's okay because they were within the benchmark? Seems like something O'Shea would say. They got off the field for the first 43 minutes of the game. The offense only scored when they got the ball at the Riders 20. The offense racked up half of their first downs in the last minute of the first half and on the TD drive when the game was over. That's why the defense was out so long. They'd get 2 plays off and be back on the field. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand. Turnovers are awesome and the Bombers defense hasn't been slack in producing them through this season. The way the game is now the defense is playing to not give up TD's. They did that. You can't win if you're offense can't score them, and you really can't win when you're offense can't even stay on the field for more than 2 plays. After the 8 minute mark of the 1st quarter, 0 two and outs for the Riders, nothing but 6 - 8 - 10 play drives given up by the defence, yup you can't win when your defence can't get off the field. You actually blame the defense for this loss? That they didn't play well enough?? Too many sustained drives by the Riders? Hey now, it's game balls to MB, Brian Brohm & Pat Tracey for that gem of a game plan & execution. -

Knowing how the BOD worked in the past they'll wait until the Earth is scorched before they do anything. -
The way MOS acted on the Coaches Show it's pretty clear he's becoming unraveled with each loss. These guys who want to become CFL head coaches... with no experience... like MOS... are they that clueless in respect to not knowing they have to deal with media every single day???? How could he have not known?? That's why bringing in someone like MOS with no experience to right the ship was a dumb idea. Our HC has no idea what to do next. He's clueless & in way over his head. This is totally on Wade Miller for hiring a GM & HC with absolutely no experience.

I don't live in Winnipeg but I refer to a comment I heard last night on the CJOB website listening to the post game show. About how Wade Miller recently was describing a 3 year plan & that the Bombers would stick to it no matter what. That's a huge concern to me as the Bombers situation is a fluid one, not static & changes need to be made as needed not after the 2016 season. If Miller sticks to this plan of no changes then we're in even bigger trouble than we all thought. I was actually quite taken aback to hear Bob & Doug talking about it. -

^^^^ THIS You need to start right at the very top to clean house this time, or else the result will be just the same... What will cleaning house now do?It won't salvage the season; It won't bring back Willy; It won't change the fact the Blue lack Canadian talent. This is a process these guys aside from Bel-FAIL deserve another year wit ha healthy Willy and solid qb and some Canadians maturing specificlly Gossen on the o-line. This seaon was over after last weeks game now it will be a string of blow outs wit ha win or two sprinkled in to give us fans the faint hope that things will get better but there is no quick fix and that is sad but true. Don't forget these guys are cleaning up Mack's mess, which is akin to cleaning up a nasty oil spill! So how can an expansion team in their second year be in a playoff spot with a better record than the Bombers? What process are the RedBlacks utilizing that they can start from scratch 1.5 years ago and be a more talented team than the Bombers today? Better coaching plain and simple. They also cut dead weight (and some talented guys but mostly dead weight) If we finsih below Ottawa this eason, there will be no redemption for even Walters in spite of some of the good work he has done. Good work? Time to stop making excuses for the guy. Sorry, there's no good work when the team is sinking faster than the Titanic & the record since the start of the 2014 season is 9-19. -
How anyone can say Brohm wasn't the problem? Three yard passes. MB called a shitty game but Brohm couldn't pick out a receiver downfield if his life depended on it.
-
People still support Walters & MOS. I give that another 4 losses.
-
Wade Miller did his work. Sure why should he be accountable?
-
Morley has an opinion & he is welcome to it.
-
Yeah sure, let's bring in a guy with NO coaching experience???

Wake the F up? How about waking up with no job?
