[MERGED] Drew Willy Watch 3.0 Has Ended
iso_55 replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
There isn't a lot of trust with fans that MOS & his staff can fix the problems on offense. That's a huge problem as they're the ones who buy tickets & merch. Personally myself, I don't think they can unless they get rid of Bellefeuille. In the guy's defense, we don't have the horses up front so anything he tries to do can't work because of so many breakdowns on the OL. But what came first, the chicken or the egg? -

We know that Willy does not need surgery, so we are really looking at 6-12 weeks (the PCL injury is a 2-8 week recovery period). With Willy's amazing ability to heal fast, and the upcoming bye week, let's say best case scenario is he misses 4-5 games. If we can get 2 wins during that period, we're still in it. After an injury like that I don't want him back until next year. Be fully healthy & ready to go. -
It's a countdown to death for any qb who plays behind our line. As Higgins used to say to Thomas Magnum... OH MY GOD!!!

Ha ha is the new LOL now. But good one!

Agree BUT with the pounding he takes and two close calls this year there was a sense of inevitability about it. Still, nothing was done any differently. That's the one thing that I can't get over.I think it's Marcel's offensive schemes. The ball takes too long to get away. He expects the OL to be able to hold their blocks longer which is insane. -

The only positive thing out of this whole situation was the Willy injury was a result of a clean hit. The Ti Cat player made no attempt to hurt Drew. It was simply bad luck & the position of his right leg when he was hit. If Willy had gone down because of a dirty hit that would have been even far worse for me to accept as a fan. It doesn't help Willy or make things better but the knowledge it wasn't deliberate is easier to accept, I believe. -

When Bill Belichek was in Cleveland he was a dumb coach. His IQ certainly improved in New England. -

Austin keeping Collaros in for the entire game was idiotic. he certainly took a huge risk. Next time Austin may not be so lucky. -

Yeah, I hear ya. I vented a couple of pages back. It is so frustrating. -
I hope Marve starts & I wish him all the best. The kid's a gamer. I hope he does well.

Oh God, what an annoying comment. A week ago we were all praising Waggoner as being having future MLB written all over him. Now Willy gets hurt and we're ASSUMING we're going to finish last or 2nd last in the CFL, and that we blew it by picking Waggoner. Sometimes, you have to go with your gut, and if you feel Waggoner has a great chance at being an impact starter, you go for it. Complete clusterf***? Really? P.S. What if Marve comes in and wins us a number of games? Is the Waggoner pick still a bad one? Appreciate your optimism but today I don't share it. Maybe Waggoner does become that player you speak of. However, pretty clear that Walters over estimated the Canadian talent on the OL when he made that pick so he forfeited being able to draft in an area of absolute need to the point of desperation in the spring to get a linebacker. People rag on Joe Mack for his draft decisions. Why should Walters get a pass? -

We have Waggoner to show for it.I don't think it's worth it. I'm thinking that there are some very good OL prospects we won't have a chance to draft now which is our most glaring weakness. Our OL woes won't just go away on their own. Just out of curiosity, what are you basing that off of? In fact, I'd love to hear the list of prospects you think are superior to Waggoner in the upcoming draft. -

Life would be much easier if all decisions could be made with hindsight.Taking a player in the Supplemental Draft is always a risk. I think giving up a first rounder the following year wasn't worth the risk. Our Canadian depth at OL will still be there next year & now we'll probably miss out on drafting a pretty good player to help fix that. -

It would be better to shut him down until next season I'd think as it won't matter by the time the next 8 weeks are done. -

Thanks to picking Garrett Wagoner in the CFL Supplemental Draft we don't even have a first round draft pick in 2016 now & we will probably finish second last ahead of the Riders with nothing to show for it. Or the Riders could go on a roll & we could have had the first pick in the CFL draft next spring. What wonderful protection our OL gave Willy the past 2 seasons. The Bombers management & coaches are just a complete cluster****. -

As per Bomber twitter feed. We're done... Drew Willy out 6-8 weeks with tibial plateau fracture & partial PCL tear in his right knee. >> http://t.co/AVFEcbDmky pic.twitter.com/HAHyFfxQDn — Blue Bombers (@Wpg_BlueBombers) August 11, 2015 -
I'm worried Goosen would be worse. That's the problem.

While I'd rather see Marve than Brohm, we're in deep doo doo. At least now if both Marve & Brohm play & don't do well it'll motivate the Bombers to go after better qbs this coming off season to bolster the number 2 & 3 positions. Like we should have done last off season. Re-upping Brohm was just a dumb move by the organization.

That's not what Dr CFL's saying... JC Sherrit, Juwan Simpson, Solomon Elimimian, Bear Woods (injured).

How many Spiderman reboots are we supposed to endure? -
I'm not ripping Hurl. the guy plays hard but I think we're asking a lot of him & my question was why are we committed to starting a Canadian at MLB when that position is almost always American? I agree with 17 that we don't have enough quality Canadians to start 8.
