  1. Walters. He's the GM so it falls on him.
  2. Who do you know? Cuz I know people too who say it will be fine. Will you guys stop it! Like are we supposed to be impressed you both know people? Jeezus.
  3. My question is why are we doing PA where Willy has to turn around away from rush then turn around again & try to find receivers downfield?? The backward fake takes too long & then asking the qb to do his reads all over again with a full blown pass rush in his face??? The plays take too long. MB is asking his OL to prolong their blocks & for Willy to lose track of & then find his receivers again instead of getting the ball away quickly. We need an offense where Willy gets the ball away quickly. Our offensive schemes & plays are all wrong.
  4. Your last point, CFL offenses don't use a 2 back system. It's always a tailback so putting a fullback in to pass block won't happen.
  5. I wish we'd have gone after Rene Curran & signed him instead of this assinine "We have to play a Canadian at MLB" mentality. Your MLB sets the tone for the rest of the defense. if he's soft then the rest of the defense is soft. What we have now isn't good enough. If Curran's out there still available we need to bring him in. Pay him & be done with it.
  6. We can have the best coaches in the world but until we get the talent to go with it then it won't mean anything.
  7. What's the story with Darvin Adams? I hope he gets back right away.
  8. Coaches are supposed to prepare a game plan & get their players ready to play. They didn't do that. How so. Tip ball pick 6. Blocked punt. TD seconds later. Kick off flunked. TD seconds later. Pick 6 TD. It's not so much coaching as it is just making mistakes. Really. The kick off gaffe is tge only one I could say might be on the coaches but even then our guys on the field should be aware. 28 points off turnovers. Coaches coach players play. It's that simple. Yeah, our OL looked so prepared for the different blitzes Hamilton threw at them. Stoudemire looked prepared today. Special teams were awesome.

  10. Why do we always hire guys like that? Why is it always the Bombers who have to train guys like O'Shea in the first place. Oh yeah,we're cheap.
  11. Every year we draft offensive linemen & every year we suck. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
  12. At the rate this rebuild is going under Walters, we may be a competitive team when the 100th anniversary of Bud Grant's hire comes around.
  13. The way the Bombers are playing there'll be plenty of crickets in the stands by seasons end...
  14. Brutal, just brutal...
  15. The LT was Bobby Thompson. The Bombers like all other teams back then had 3 American starters on the offensive line. The only Canadians starting were Center John Bonk & Left Guard Nick Bastaja. The Americans were LT Thompson, RT Butch Norman & RG Larry Butler. It didn't take half a decade to develop an OL like it does now because teams today insist on playing a minimum of 4 Canadians on the line. This is just my opinion but I also believe the reason why so many players get injured playing today's game as compared to back in 1980 is because of all the padding the players wore back then. They didn't wear undersized shoulder pads & little or no pads below the waist. Players dressed to be protected & not to be stylish or cool like players today. Wearing more protective padding & bigger shoulder pads didn't eliminate all injuries back then but I believe that soft tissue injuries as well as shoulder & hip injuries were reduced greatly at that time
  16. Bragagnolo broke that huge run up the middle late in the 4th quarter to beat the Stamps on that muddy, frozen quagmire of a field in 1980. I remember that!!
  17. Lack of discipline is on Chamblin as the HC. He sets the tone on the team so he is responsible. Are you calling Milt a liar? What'd Milt say? Milt said it's on the players. Who's he kidding? Guys screw up. They play undisciplined football. It's on the coaches to do something about it.

  19. The bar was set a lot higher in those days than today. The Bombers were a very good team in the late 70's & early 80's under Brock. Unfortunately they were in the same Division as the juggernaut Eskimos in those days.
  20. Because mentioning a football player's alma mater is something that is just never done on football broadcasts...It's all about Southern Ontario. Player after player after player. Who gives a ****. ...their families, friends, classmates, coaches... Good for them. They already know where they play.
  21. IIRC, Brock had signed a long term contract prior to the 81 season. He was one, if not the highest paid qb in the CFL. After 2 years Brock wanted to renegotiate & Cal Murphy said no. Brock missed training camp & was suspended a number of games in the first half of the 1983 season. He finally returned & played but Murphy traded him to Hamilton for Clements. When he left Winnipeg he wasn't very complimentary about a lot of things Winnipeg.
  22. 1982 was a tough one. The Bombers had such a stacked team loaded with All-Stars and a real dynamic offence with William Miller at RB and such an awesome O-line. Lost in the Western Final to those darn Eskies by 3 points. I was crying as I really loved that 1982 team. IIRC that was the one we lost due to a questionable roughing the passer penalty against John Helton. The penalty wiped out an INT by Vince Phason that would have sealed the game for us. Like it was yesterday. You recall correctly - broke my heart. Right call too - Helton hit Moon almost two seconds after he (Moon) threw the ball - easily could have laid up but followed through anyway (probably because in that game Moon was starting to 'feel' it and Helton was being held all game and couldn't get to him - when he finally had his shot he couldn't resist). Of course it does - and don't forget - no one really knows or understands the circumstances surrounding that 'split'. But grudges are for women and insecure people - we have moved on. 1982 was a tough one. Helton didn't rough Moon. He pushed him. Moon barely broke stride & didn't fall down either. It was a bullshit call that cost us a trip to the Grey Cup.
